Chapter 193 : So your not an imposter.

Melanie opened the door to the biggest room quietly and looked at Reli who was having a happy and very loud conversation with her family. She'd given up on sleep a while ago and instead listened to the conversation.

It wasn't eavesdropping if she could still hear them from under the sheets [ Should I come out? Maybe I should go back to bed. They probably don't want me around ]

She nodded, agreeing with herself as she tried to close the door quietly. What she didn't expect was to close her thumb in the process. She nearly screamed out but covered her mouth.

She sucked on her thumb, scolding herself despite the throbbing she felt in her right thumb. She was even more surprised when Cookie opened the door and frowned, obviously concerned " Are you okay "?

Melanie tried to smile as she nodded. Despite herself, she suddenly complained out loud " It hurts ". Reli suddenly looked back and skimpered to her feet, " What's wrong Melanie "?

Melanie whined even louder, holding her red thumb out [ What am I doing? ] " It hurts so bad ". Reli frowned as she took the thumb in her hand and examined it closely, " How did this even happen "?

She turned to Cookie, her voice serious " Get the ointment ". Cookie nodded and ran in while Reli pressed the thumb and Melanie cried out, " Don't touch it "! Reli yelled back, " You hurt yourself pretty bad, stay put ".

She pouted slightly, eyes slightly glistening " You're so mean ". Cookie had already come back with the ointment and Reli smiled mischievously as she waved the small ointment bottle in front of her " You have no idea ".

The men just watched on in surprise. Dinrod suddenly laughed to himself as he looked at Reli who was holding Melanie's hand firmly [ I never thought I'd see the day ] " I must visit the empress in the morning ".

Kancor raised an eyebrow as Caitlin raised his arms high, " What are you doing "? She leaned in closer, looking up at his face " Just checking ". Still confused, he face palmed her " For what "?

She took his hand away, looking serious " If you're the real Kancor ". He smiled, leaning in closer to her face " Then what was your decision "? She turned red slightly as she looked away [ Was he always so handsome? ]

" You're obviously not an imposter ", He pulled at her cheeks playfully " What led to that conclusion "? She suddenly put her finger to his pointy left ear and it closed in on itself almost immediately.

" You're the only one that can do that ". Kancor was surprised by it, the ear had folded itself in half when she touched it. He smiled, rubbing his chin " I didn't think you knew anything about me ".

She shook her head quickly [ Of course I do ] " Don't misunderstand me ". He pouted, throwing a towel at her " You should probably get a hot bath ". She frowned, removing the towel from her head and he quickly added " I'm not saying you smell bad or anything.....it's just that aren't demons not too good with the cold "?

She found herself nodding, " It depends ". He sighed, removing his waistcoat, " I don't care princess ". She frowned, waving the towel angrily " Don't tell me what to do ". He had a teasing smirk on his face as he held his hands out " Do you want my help "?

She instantly pursed her lips and walked back, " I hate you "! Though she'd slammed the door shut, she could still hear him laughing as he spoke loud enough for her to hear, " We both know that's not true "?
