Don’t Let Anything Happen

Leo took a deep breath, putting an end to this suffocating conversation.

In the top-class suite, Bald Strong sat anxiously on the sofa, occasionally glancing towards the door. His gaze would dart nervously to the black-clad man holding a gun by the entrance. Bald Strong's heart trembled as he repeatedly prayed.

"Miss Lin, please don't let anything happen to you! Miss Lin, please don't let anything happen to you!"

The waiting was excruciatingly torturous.

Twenty minutes later, Leo and Zuri appeared before him. Seeing Zuri unharmed, Bald Strong let out a long sigh of relief.

He wasn't going to die!

Bald Strong nearly shed tears of joy.

"Miss Lin," Bald Strong called out excitedly.

Leo sat on the sofa, crossing his legs lazily. His deep eyes locked onto Bald Strong. "Now, tell me how you plan to compensate Zuri for the emotional damage."

The mention of compensation immediately reminded Bald Strong of the time when the Ji, Shu, and Yu families had to pay a heavy price for Zuri's 19th birthday. To appease Leo's wrath, he knew he'd have to bleed money again.

With a fawning smile, Bald Strong said, "Last month, I acquired a pair of blood jade bracelets from the Han Dynasty in Australia. They would complement Miss Lin's complexion perfectly. With them, she would surely shine with extraordinary charm."

After speaking, he instinctively looked at Leo. Seeing Leo's indifferent expression, Bald Strong's heart pounded even faster.

If he dared to make the same mistake again, mere compensation wouldn't suffice.

"Yes, yes, you're right," Bald Strong nodded repeatedly. There was no way he'd dare provoke Miss Lin again. He wasn't suicidal!

Zuri followed Leo back to Oceanic City, but Saira and Aaron on the yacht didn't fare as well.

The next morning, Saira woke up to find her body covered in bruises, her eyes filled with hatred and venom.

Why did this happen to her?

If she still didn't understand by now, she'd truly be a fool!

In that moment, Saira hated everyone in the Lin family, including Dalia and Christian.

She vowed to see them dead. All of them!

In the adjacent room, Aaron was awakened by a sharp pain from his lower back. Just moving slightly sent waves of excruciating pain through him.

Jia Dafu also woke up. Seeing Aaron next to him, his face turned green!

"Why are you here?! What did you do to me?!" Jia Dafu shouted angrily, his expression as if he had swallowed something vile.

Aaron's face was even more bruised. He was the real victim, yet before he could lash out, Jia Dafu was already playing the victim.

"You ruined me! You owe me for the emotional trauma and the physical damage!" Jia Dafu was livid.

Aaron slapped him across the face.

But Jia Dafu wasn't one to be easily subdued. The two started wrestling on the bed, and both ended up with bruised faces.

Jia Dafu then sought out Bald Strong to argue, but upon learning from him that Leo had been there, he was too scared to speak.

"All the money you paid yesterday will be fully refunded," Bald Strong snorted coldly. "You should consider yourself lucky that the person in your bed last night wasn't Miss Lin. Otherwise, you'd be fish food by now."

Jia Dafu broke out in a cold sweat, feeling relieved that it wasn't her.

Meanwhile, Saira and Aaron silently returned to the Lin family.

When Dalia saw them, she greeted them with a smile. "You're back. Darling, what happened to your face?"

"None of your business," Aaron said as he went upstairs.

Saira also went upstairs without acknowledging Dalia.

Something was clearly off with these two. What had happened at last night's banquet?

Dalia frowned.

Wait, why hadn't Zuri come back?

Worried, Dalia went upstairs and knocked on her daughter's door.

There was no response from inside.

Dalia grew more concerned and opened the door without permission.

No one was in the room, but the sound of water could be heard from the bathroom, accompanied by a woman's sobs.

Dalia's heart tightened. She quickly approached the bathroom door. "Saira, what's wrong?"

"Get out!" Saira shouted, her voice filled with both sobs and hatred.

Dalia grew even more anxious.

"Saira, what happened? Tell Mom."

Saira, with tears streaming down her face and her eyes bloodshot, ignored her. She kept scrubbing her body vigorously, her skin turning red, yet she didn't stop, as if she wanted to peel off a layer of skin.

When Dalia opened the bathroom door, this was the sight that greeted her.

She was terrified.

Seeing the bruises on her body, Lady Lin, being a woman with experience, immediately understood what had happened to her daughter.

"What happened? Who did this to you?" Dalia was furious and heartbroken.

Saira sneered at her, "Don't pretend to care. Isn't this what you all wanted? You sold me out for money. After all, I'm not really your daughter."

Dalia's heart ached as she hugged her. "Saira, it's all my fault. I couldn't protect you."

"Mom?" Saira sneered. "You're not my mother."

Dalia couldn't hold back anymore. "Saira, you're wrong. You're the child I carried for ten months. I'm your real mother. How could I ever do something like this?"

Saira was stunned. "What did you say? I'm your daughter? Then who is Zuri? Whose daughter is she?"

Dalia didn't explain further. She simply said, "You don't need to know everything. Just know that I am your biological mother. In this house, we are the closest to each other. As for the others, they don't matter."

Saira couldn't snap out of it.

After a while, Saira started laughing bitterly. "You're lying to me! You just want me to willingly make money for the Lin family."

"No, it's not like that. How could I push you into the fire? I'll go deal with that beast right now," Dalia said, releasing her and heading out.
