On her way out Sofia ran into Zara.
She halted in her steps and faced her. They had both lost someone that they cared about. Damian had turned indifferent to both of them.
Somehow they found comfort in sailing on the same boat. Zara didn't say a word. Over the last five years, she had become a woman of few words. Speaking only when spoken to.
Sofia stepped forward and gave her a warm hug. She could relate to what her mother-in-law was going through. They both were running out of ways to convince Damian that they were sorry.
"Thank you," Zara uttered gratefully. She hugged Sofia back, she needed the hug more than ever.
They stood together in the spacious living room consoling each other with the hug.
"It will get better soon," She encouraged. The words were more for herself than for Zara. Because she needed it, she needed to believe that everything was going to get better.
