Chapter Nineteen : I Will Be Expecting Your Return
Gerald walked through the hallways towards the stairs that led down to where he guessed Gina would be.
He hasn't seen her since her last visit and so he had decided to go look for her, so they could talk for awhile because he might get a lot busier soon.
As he walked on, he could feel eyes staring daggers at him and each time he approaches a room various maidens seem to come out. They would greet him smiling seductively and when he walked past them he could still feel them staring at his back....
*Whew*
Gerald sighed as he got to the staircase.
At last he was free from their prying eyes....
He walked down the stairs and finally out of the building, heading towards a different building....
It wasn't so difficult for him to locate the place as it was just a stone throw from his own building.
As he got closer to the building he could feel people staring at him but this stare was different from when he was in the hallway.
Finally, he got to the building main door and the guards who had been standing in front of it on alert yanked it open for him to pass.
Gerald walked past the flight of stairs and through a different hallway before stopping at a doorway.
*Knock*
*Knock*
" Come in " A feminine voice replied...
Gerald paused for awhile on hearing Gina's voice, he sighed, opened the door, then walked in.
He walked into the room looking around, the room was a large one. The room had a nice touch to it, at the far corner was a bed with large curtains hung above it and beside it was a drawer with flowery patterns .
Beautiful tapestries was hung on the walls at one end of the room stood a beautiful study desk and a chair afront it.
" Father?!"
Gerald snapped out of his thought and looked towards where his daughter's voice was coming from.
Earlier on, when he had realised that his daughter had moved from the main building, he had thought she was living in a small room less comfortable for her and had walked in with the thought...
But on getting inside what he had seen had surprised him and he just stood there looking around like a lowly man who have spent his life living on the street.
He never knew there was a room so grand in this part of the building.....
" Gina" he had finally replied snapping out of his thought...
Gina could be seen sitting on a chair facing the mirror, as her maiden made her hair.
" Why are you here Father?" she asked looking surprised..
" I am here to see u" he replied
Gina nods, signaling for her maiden to leave the room so they could talk.
Gina then turned to face Gerald....
" I am listening Father"
" Gina ...."
" There have been rumours around this town and...."
" I might be leaving soon to go check it out myself....i will be gone with some other people "
" Okay father " Gina replied
' Like he was ever around ' She thought then scoffed.
"Gina, i know we haven't really been together for a long while.....i am sorry"
" .....and i promise you, that all of it will stop once i am back"
" I have been doing everything to protect you ...."
" Like you protected mother??" Gina cuts in
Gerald's heart had stopped for a moment, he wasn't expecting Gina to ask of her mother.
He walked closer to where she was sitting, turned her chair to face the mirror...
Gina just sat on the chair confused as she looked at the mirror....
" I know i should have saved her that day....i tried saving her earlier before but she insisted on having you " He replied making her hair and continuing from where Gina's maiden had stopped...
" That's why i have made a vow to myself to always protect you Gina and once all this is done... the town will be save snd so will you"
Gerald bent down and looked up at Gina
" I want to show you something" he said, searching his pockets for something.
" Here" he said bringing out a necklace
" I want you to hold this, it was your mother's"
Gina's eyes opened wide in surprise con seeing the beautiful necklace
" She had given it to me before her death and now i am giving it to you"
He he held her hands in his palm and placed the necklace on her palm.
" Do keep it safe" he continued closing her palm
Gina nodded.
" I love you Gina and i want the best for you, do well to....."
*knock*
*knock*
*knock*
" You May Come In" Gina answered
The door slowly opened and a young guard walked in.
He immediately bowed....
" My Lord, the Royal Guard had sent me to inform you that the meeting is about to start " the young guard said, then left....
Gerald was unhappy as he had wanted to spend more time with his daughter before the meeting.
" Father, i think you should get going" Gina said immediately the guard had left .....
Gerald walked towards her and kissed her on her forehead
" Do stay safe for me" he whispered then turned to leave
Gerald walked on and was getting close to the door .....
When...
"Father....."
Gina ran to hug him
" Stay Safe for me too.....I will be expecting your return" Gina said smiling
Gerald nodded
" I will for you" He replied then opened the door to leave, he knew he had to leave at that moment....
Gina walked towards her bed....
* SIGH*
Then sat heavily on her bed...
Earlier on when her father had brought the news of him living, she was upset
But after much thought,She realised he was trying to save the people from harm....
She laid on her bed facing the ceiling with hope that her father would save them all and return back to her.....
" Be Safe father" She said in a low tone

I am sorry i haven't been able to update regularly....been preparing for my exam.
We are having this college exam and i have really been busy...i do promise that once i am done with my exams i will keep updating muy chapters regularly...
