Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Almost A Mistake

Heading to Tearia's room to let her rest they traveled in silence together until they arrived at the door and laid Tearia on her bed leaving her alone. Closing the door behind him Eli turned to his wife beside him and asked the same question again. He wouldn't let her get away so easily this time.

"So what did you tell her."

"Why do you think I told her anything?"

"Because I heard your voice at first but after hearing what you said I cut it off for myself."

"Oh I see. Well I never expected to get past you anyway but if you really want to know what I said I can tell you."

"I do so just get out with it."

"Haha fine, fine. It's quite simple really. All I did was was tell Tearia a slight lie that's all."

"And what kind of lie was that or maybe the better question is why did you lie to her?"

Hearing his wife lied to Tearia Eli was slightly shocked. Out of all the things he could have expected from her she had done something completely out of his expectations "Though she always has." If it wasn't for that part of her perhaps she never would have become his one and only wife in the end. "She really loves to fight dirty..." He could still remember all the tricks she played on all his other lovers when he was young that allowed her to slip into his life slowly. Though she was also a big part of the reason they were in their current position now but he didn't regret it. "Leaving that place once and for all was probably the best damn decision of my life." Whenever he remembered all their faces hatred filled his body but that was so long ago now.

"I told her you were going blind in your right eye and focus on using that to her advantage to attack you."

Twitching slightly he looked at his wife almost speechless.

"You told her I was going blind?"

"Yep and It worked after all She got a hit on you."

"Yeah..but.."

Stuttering almost he tried to defend himself knowing he got hit.

"No buts Landing a hit on someone like you who's practically a monster in disguise when it comes to battles isn't something that should be undermined by some petty pride and dignity."

"I know...It's just."

Looking at her husband she sighed. She knew he couldn't be blamed but it seemed he needed a reminder.

"Why are you trying to make excuses? It's obvious you looked down on Tearia and ended up paying the price for it. The poor girl was bullied constantly by you for almost a month basically always on the defensive and training hard with you learning and well I know you meant no harm in what you were doing nor did you mean to underestimate her it still isn't an excuse. Can you imagine being in her position especially after all that she's been through recently? The fact that she's still even moving and trying to live could be considered a huge accomplishment in its own right. Yet she probably felt horrible never being able to do anything in a fight except keep herself safe against you."

"....."

"Yet you are trying to save your pride just to make yourself feel a little better about being "Beaten" by your own Granddaughter. You of all people should know the disgusting behaviour of the wrong side of Pride and honour. It's why we are here after all. So you better make sure when that girl wakes up to treat her well and give her the recognition she deserves."

Exhaling she finally finished her speech as she stared at her husband as he held his head down slightly. "Maybe I was too harsh?" But she couldn't let him slip back into what he was in the past. It was her job to remind him what they were now. "Husband and wife." They were no longer there old selves and neither should they want to be but she knew old habits die hard even if they happened long ago and she was probably no better some times.

"Sorry..That was a little much maybe."

"No you're right I know that. Thank you."

Smiling, he walked up to her and hugged her and rubbed her hair. "It seems I almost made a mistake that I hate to see myself...Thankfully you're here for me." Thinking that he let go only to see her slightly surprised face and smiled to himself as he headed back down to the backyard.

"Come and spend some time with me all right? We haven't gotten much alone time recently."

Staring at his back as he disappeared abruptly she could only shake her head."Some things never change." But he was right they haven't gotten to spend much time together recently and she missed it. Giving one last check on Tearia before leaving she followed after him towards the bench where they could enjoy the rest of the day.

"You old fool."

Whispering that under her breath she made her way outside and saw him sitting on the bench waiting for her. Smiling, she walked up and sat beside him. Meanwhile Tearia slipped into dream land with a peaceful smile on her face as she began to sleep through the whole rest of the day and night. But Neither of her Grandparents could blame her. She had pushed herself incredibly hard today after all so she deserved this at the very least.

"What happened..."

Sleepy and still pretty tired Tearia looked around her room unable to remember what had happened at the end of yesterdays fight. "Ouch." But her whole body was still incredibly sore. "Haven't felt like this since the beginning...." Struggling a little bit she slowly got out of bed and began to get ready for the day. She would just have her Grandfather tell her what happened yesterday if she couldn't remember thankfully.
