Ripping apart another Metal Knight that decided to block their path Felli made sure to check for anything else in their surroundings but besides a few corpses scattered around there didn't seem to be anything else approaching. She knew Xilo was tired and with Tearia deciding to protect him she figured it was the best time for her to put some work in. "I didn't really do much in that fight." Since she had the most energy to spare it seemed only natural for her and as a bonus Tearia got to spend time with Xilo.
"Still doing alright?"
Hearing Xilo call out to her she simply waved her hand back at him as she went forward. She knew he was just checking up on her but she was the last person who needed it right now. "Yet he still does it." Shaking it off she tried to keep an eye out for any place to take a moment but there was nowhere that seemed safe. She was a little surprised by that but since they were going deeper into the Astral Zone it probably meant they would have less time for breaks.
"We can't go backwards either with those Wolves searching the place, so what now?"
Talking to herself she tried to figure out a plan well making a mental map in her head. They had ended up finding a place where the sun peeked through the ground where they were and after following it they had arrived at another courtyard area that opened up into a giant field unlike the small ones from before. Filled with statues and plants that she hadn't seen before they managed to find a couple things there to take with them. After giving those to Xilo to hold they three of them had walked towards another hallway that eventually led them to a giant open center room with a stage on one end where they found themselves quickly approached by more Metal knights that she swiftly took care of before they could be overwhelmed.
"Not many paths to take."
Looking up from the corpses on the ground she looked at the two separate exits on each side of the stage as the red curtain blocked any other view from her sight. Looking behind her past Xilo and Tearia she saw only one entrance as she remembered the hallway they walked down before. "That hallway had a lot of connecting ones to it. I wonder why, is this some kind of area where we're forced together or is there more to it." Not quite sure about everything in this place herself she was forced to make a decision that led to two unknowns. "I suppose I can ask them as well." Almost forgetting she could get a second opinion she spoke up.
"So between these two paths where do you think we should go?
Hearing her question Tearia ripped her eyes off Xilo as she looked at that long black hair facing her.
"Xilo?"
Turning to Xilo she wanted to hear his opinion first but he simply gave the choice to them without saying much else. "Is something on his mind again?" Looking at him gently sway back and forth as his eyes unfocused she wondered if he was just that tired but she left it alone. Most likely he didn't know either and was fine with whatever choice Felli made herself but she had her own thoughts since she had paid a little more attention then him however she couldn't blame him. Compared to him she was a lot more energized so she was able to keep a better eye out on things."
"I say we go through the left door."
"why left."
"Those Knights came through that door so most likely nothing else will show up there for a little bit of time so it's probably the safest. Either way though we have to make a choice."
Listening to Tearia reasoning she nodded in approval with little complaints as she made her way towards the left door without asking anymore questions. "Sound reasoning but lets see if it holds true." She didn't really care what one they went through either. Most likely they both led to different areas that would eventually link up again. This room was a choice for the people who made it this far that would also split them up and if her assumptions were correct it was probably something similar to a test on the other side of each door or some kind of challenge to face. "Let's see if anyone else has made it this far yet." If someone did she would have to hope they weren't hostile or they would be in for some trouble.
Thankfully as she walked down the left hallway she didn't see anything just like Tearia said as a bit of light entered appeared at the end of the hall that was different from all the other lights they had found in this place. "Hmmm?" Picking up her pace she moved ahead of Xilo and Tearia hoping to get a look at it before them just in case they needed to run. Coming to the end of the hallway she ignored all the same old scenery around her as she saw the exit in front of her as sounds of metal clashed against each other. "Sounds like some fighting up ahead." Worried she approached slowly as she witnessed a surprising sight
"Well fuck."
Once her eyes could finally see past the blinding light Felli was left slightly speechless as she looked at a battlefield of warriors. There were a couple other people here but compared to the Astral beasts that overwhelmed this area their numbers were nothing and unlike the Metal Knights of before the Astral beasts they were fighting seemed to be a type of Undead Warrior that didn't die no matter how many times it was struck. Watching one man crush one's arms before stomping it to death she watched as it slowly tried to regenerate itself as the assault continued before eventually getting help from its allies giving it time to regenerate.
Quickly the thought to turn back entered her mind but as soon as she turned around a small barrier appeared that she hadn't seen before locking her in. "Oh no." Panicking she watched as two more figures crossed the line without her being able to say a word.
