Re:Monster: Skill Plunder

Opening my eyes I found myself faced to face with a wrinkled faced green skinned old man. At first I was shocked and on high alert, but when I realized he held no malice I calmed down a bit but still on edge.

" Hmm, Let's name this one Yao! "

The old man set me down and proceeded to move on to another green-skinned infant. That's when I realized that everyone around me was green. I then realized looked around my surroundings and found out I was in a cave. Then it finally clicked for me.

( Have I been reborn as a goblin? .....I DEMAND A REFUND!! SURE I WASN'T THE GREATEST HUMAN BEING IN MY LAST LIFE, SURE I KILLED A ROBBED A LOT OF PEOPLE FOR POWER. BUT A FUCKING GOBLIN COME THE FUCK ON. )

Yao began crying to himself at his predicament. He was like that 20 straight minutes before getting a hold of himself and coming to accept his current predicament.

He then began to think to himself.

( Perhaps hope is not all lost! If I remember correctly Goblins are one of the few monster races that have I potential for evolution. Although it might be hard I can't give up just yet can't I! Then it's decided I'll do everything in my power to evolve into a higher being, but first I have to grow to a suitable age.)

And with that Yao found himself drifting off to sleep.

~ 2 Days Later ~

Yao had finally grown to the size where he could move his body unrestricted. He soon like many others goblin set out in order to find food. He grabbed a sturdy enough stick and sharpened it to the point it could stab right through a person. He then resumed his hunting, he originally was going to attempt to capture a Horned Rabbit like the other goblins around him but the he came across a Chicken With fiery looking feathers. Instantly the thought of roasted chicken appeared in his mind and his stomach began to growl.

He then at that moment decided to stalk the Chicken he knew if he made any sudden movements and alerted it, it would immediately take off and he wouldn't be able to get. So he waited he for the right opportunity to strike. The opportunity soon presented itself when the Fire Chicken lowered its guard and started to nest itself.

Without missing a beat Yao shot out from his position and viciously stabbed makeshift spear directly into the creatures head killing it instantly.

Yao looked at the dead chicken with pride on his face.

Just as he about grab his bounty a notification appeared in his head.

[ 𝑅𝑒𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠 𝑀𝑒𝑡 𝑆𝑘𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑃𝑙𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑆𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑙 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑑! ]

Suddenly 3 glowing cards appeared in front of him. Yao was at first expressionless, but he soon broke out into a vicious grin as he thought to himself.

( So this skill has followed me even in this world! This makes things a lot easier on me. )

Back before he was reincarnated as a goblin. Yao was a powerful Hunter who killed other Hunters and Monster for their skills and traits. How he was able to do it, it was because of his unique skill [ Plunder and Steal ] which allowed him to take skills and traits of the things he killed. When it ranked up he was able to steal the essence of objects and gained abilities based of their function.

Now he has found out that the same skill that made him one the strongest existences in his last life has followed him into his new one, the amount of excitement he was having was immeasurable.

He then looked at the glowing cards in front of him and grabbed them in his hand and crushed them. He then received 3 notifications in his head.

[ Sᴋɪʟʟ Qᴜɪᴄᴋ Fᴇᴇᴛ ʜᴀs ʙᴇᴇɴ ʟᴇᴀʀɴᴇᴅ ]

[ Tʀᴀɪᴛ Sʜᴀʀᴘ ɴᴀɪʟs ʜᴀs ʙᴇᴇɴ ʟᴇᴀʀɴᴇᴅ ]

Looking at his new skills and trait, Yao felt even more satisfied than before. He then began to try them out. [ Ember ] allowed him to summon a small flame on his finger tips he was at first disappointed but he figured the more he used it the stronger it would get. [ Quick Feet ]just allowed him to move faster and boosted his evasive abilities. And lastly his new trait [ Sharp Nails ] was a passive ability that made his nails sharper.

All in all he was happy with his loot. He then grabbed his Chicken corpse and returned to the cave where he began to cook his food. After lightning a small fire with [ Ember ] many goblin who had failed to get food on their own tried to steal his but he quickly showed them he was not to be trifled with. He then felt someone watching him he turned towards the direction and saw another goblin staring at him intently. But this goblin felt a bit strange he looked far more intelligent then the rest and he too had started a fire to cook his food. The two of them just stared at each other before nodding and choosing pay each other no mind.

After eating soon found himself drifting off to sleep. Having dreams of evolving and living a more pleasurable life.

~ Day 4 ~

Yao woke up the next day ready for a hunt this time he chose to hunt a Horned Rabbit as he learned that Fire Chickens where a rare encounter. He easily came across a Horned Rabbit and wasted no time in attacking it using his skill [ Quick Feet ] appearing in front of it in a instant the Horned Rabbit was surprised at Yao's movement capability but still managed to dodge although getting wounded slightly. Sensing that it's opponent wasn't like a regular goblin the rabbit like creature tried to escape sensing danger coming from Yao.

Yao noticed that it wanted to flee.

" Oh no you don't! "

Once again using [ Quick Feet ] Yao was right behind the Horned Rabbit and with a mighty cry yelled out.

" Get in my belly!! "

Before striking down the rabbit and killing it instantly. Then 3 glowing cards appeared, he instantly grabbed them and crushed them in his hand as 3 notifications popped up.

Yao then felt his leg muscles begin to strengthen as he felt an explosive amount of power in them. He decided test his new found leg strength and before crouching down jumping upward, he went 3 feet high into the air, he landed a bit roughly but he was fine for the most part. He then began to look over his new Skills [ Danger Sense ] was self explanatory. [ Horn Strikes ] was a skill that increased the power of attacks with horn's. At first he thought it was useless but then he turned towards the dead rabbit corpse and got an idea.

Ripping the horn off the rabbits head he then began to use as a butcher's knife cutting the rabbit up. After he finished and took the parts he wanted he started he took the tendons off the rabbit and took his makeshift spear and wrapped the horn onto the spear nice and tightly. After he finished he activated his skill [ Horn Strike ] and attacked a thin tree, the horn on the spear began to dimly glow as his attack landed on the leaving 10 inch hole in the tree.

Satisfied, Yao returned to the cave and began cooking his rabbit. Like last time other goblins tried to steal his food and he once again had to beat the dog shit out of them to remind them what's up. But there was one goblin who unlike the others didn't attack instead this goblin bowed its head.

" Please can you spare some food. "

Yao just looked at the bowing goblin before taking a bit of pity before saying.

" Listen this is the only time I'll lend you some of my food if you want to survive and eat on your own I'll teach you but that's it understood! "

The goblin then looked at Yao with bright eyes before saying.

" Thank you, And I promise to work hard! "

Yao just nodded before throwing a rabbits leg towards the goblin before introducing himself.

" The names Yao what's yours? "

The goblin through a mouth full of food said.

" U- munch.. Ji munch.. "

Yao nodded and quickly finished up his food he then proceeded to drift off the sleep. Uji similarly to Yao fell to sleep with a goofy smile on his face after being full for the first time.
