Giving him the best potential is definitely good. Since he doesn’t actually know the story him ending up with the strawhats wouldn’t be bad either cause he doesn’t actually know what’s going to happen. As for devil fruit I’d lean more towards a paramecia or logia fruit. Just so he sticks to the whole growth potential. Ik zoans also could get better but I feel like if it isn’t specific types you’re usually locked in with skill sets.
