Lucious, before entering the Village Head's house, had taken note of the time displayed on a tall clock situated at the village's center. The clock's hands pointed to 11 p.m., and as he settled in his room, he calculated that he must have been transmigrated into this new world around 8 p.m. when he found himself in the jungle.
He had conversed with Regurd and Megan, had tea, and was now lying on the bed trying to sleep for nearly 3 hours, so, based on his rough estimation, it should have been around 3 AM by now. Yet, he was not able to sleep.
'Does this body not require sleep.... Ugh... but I want to sleep...' With this awareness, Lucious adjusted his position on the bed, seeking the much-needed rest he had hoped to find. He closed his eyes, ready to embrace slumber in the quiet, dimly lit room of the Village Head's house.
It seemed like the sleep he desired had finally come, his breathing became quiet and now he was finally in peace..... or so he thought...

In the quiet night, the village appeared to be enveloped in slumber, with the dimly lit houses showing no signs of activity. However, there was one exception: a small house situated a few houses away from the village head's residence. Unlike the rest of the village, this small house was illuminated, its warm glow standing out in the dark, tranquil night.
Inside the small, well-lit room, five individuals were gathered. Regurd was seated at the table, with three other men joining him while we could see Megan standing behind Regurd's seat with a... worried expression..?.
These three newcomers appeared muscular and bore distinctive marks on their forehead, left cheek, and shoulder respectively. The four men sat around the table, facing each other in earnest discussion. (Fourth being Regurd)
First to speak was the man who had a scar on his forehead, "So, what you are saying is true..?"
Regurd answers, "Yes, at first I was worried that he had some guards protecting from the shadows, but I am sure that no one is protecting him and he is alone"
"What are his guards hiding near our village's border....?" the man with a scar on his shoulder inquired.
"No, I thought so too in the beginning. so I had sent two men to check the perimeter and they found nothing of that sort..." Regurd answered in an assuring tone.
The man with a scar on his left cheek scoffed, he was more muscular than the others, he said "So, if that's the case, why are we doing this meeting..? Shouldn't we have dealt with him from the start..?" with a sly smile he continued, " As you have described him, he could be just a brat, a young master who had ran from his house" By his tone he was clearly looking down on Lucious.
Regurd, his weary expression illuminated by the flickering light, took a deep breath and addressed the council. "No, although he is alone," Regurd began, his voice steady, "he has a good physique and a confident demeanor. Traveling alone in the night, he must be as powerful as a bronze-ranked adventurer."
The others exchanged silent glances as Regurd continued. "That's why we did not show him any disrespect when we met him. We decided to be cautious and keep him unaware of our true intentions, allowing him to feel safe in our village. It's during these moments of vulnerability that we could learn about him"
"So, what is he doing right now..?"
"He is probably sleeping in my house"
The village Lucious was currently staying in was called The Village of Bandits,
Its inhabitants were not ordinary folk but cunning bandits who thrived on terror and brutality. Known as the Village of Bandits, this place was a haven for the vilest of criminals, nestled far from the reach of the kingdom's law.
Their wicked ways knew no bounds. As soon as a traveler or a lone wanderer set foot in their forsaken territory, they would show them kindness, but as soon as the traveler would let his guard down, they pounced like a pack of ravenous wolves.
Robbery was just the beginning. With callous hearts, they looted their victims of all their valuables, leaving nothing but despair in their wake.
But-
Their depravity didn't end there.
These nefarious bandits had perfected the art of darkness. They would mercilessly slaughter their prey, stripping them of their lives and their humanity. The macabre rituals they practiced involved selling body parts to the most shadowy of traders who dared to visit their den of iniquity once a month. (They could preserve the body with some basic ice magic.)
The bandits of the Village of Bandits were no strangers to fear, but when they first laid eyes on Lucious, a noble they had never encountered before, a chill ran down their spines. In their secluded world, they had never crossed paths with anyone of noble birth or royal heritage, and the prospect of such a meeting had always been the stuff of their darkest nightmares.
The initial fear that gripped them was not merely due to Lucious's nobility and status. It was a common understanding that those in high positions often moved with a legion of powerful guards surrounding them. Yet, as they observed Lucious from the shadows, it became evident that he was alone, with no imposing guards or entourage to shield him.
Gradually, their confidence began to return. Lucious, despite his noble demeanor and possibly impressive lineage, appeared to be without any visible protection. The bandits saw an opportunity, one that promised wealth and power if they played their cards right. The absence of a strong retinue bolstered their courage, and their sinister plans took root.
At first, hesitation lingered among the bandits, fueled by the uncertain power that Lucious might wield. His imposing figure and noble bearing left some of them apprehensive. However, their growing confidence and the prospect of unimaginable wealth soon outweighed their initial reservations. The idea that Lucious was unaccompanied in the village emboldened them.
After all, they considered, what could go wrong in the presence of three powerful hunters from their village...? A sense of false security began to spread among the bandits, leading them to underestimate the potential risks of their daring venture. Their excitement and avarice clouded their judgment. The memory of the copper-ranked adventurers they had previously looted and the wealth they had obtained from them convinced the bandits that they were more than capable of robbing this noble. In the face of such tempting riches, the collective intelligence of the masses was reduced to little more than the instincts of asses....
As Regurd elaborated on the situation to the other bandits, it became increasingly clear that even if Lucious lacked immediate wealth, his distinctive features, particularly his mesmerizing ruby-red eyes, were likely to fetch a significant price on the black market. This revelation heightened their determination to seize the opportunity to profit from the noble's presence in their secluded village.
Megan, with a nagging feeling that this was not a good idea, hesitated for a moment before gathering the courage to speak up.
"I don't know... he seemed like a nice person. M-Maybe we shouldn't do this?" Her suggestion was met with a sharp rebuke from Regurd, who didn't entertain the idea. "Shut up, you damn wrench!" he barked, "Do you even know the significance of this situation? Just shut up if you don't have anything else to add!" silencing her concerns.
As the group, with ill intentions concealed beneath their cloaks, made their way into Regurd's house, a tense atmosphere filled the air. Regurd gripped a long rope tightly, his knuckles turning white from the pressure, while the three imposing men each held a massive Masheti, their faces concealed with a mix of excitement and apprehension. With slow, deliberate steps, they ascended the creaking staircase, finally coming to a halt outside Lucious's room.
What could a young brat do to them, he would leave this world while sleeping peacefully...? right...?
But inside the room Lucious already sensed their presence, he was still lying in the bed and had a devilish.... smile.....?
