Chapter 4 - Before the wedding

Beata's POV

Today was my wedding day. A wedding between two strangers who don't even know each other's names never met or even exchanged a word before. My mother told me that his name is Raven, my bestowed mate whom I have been waiting for 18 years. I plopped on my bed and looked at the ceiling in my room. My wolf couldn't hide the excitement she felt after finally finding her mate after years of being called an outcast by the whole pack. "Are you that excited?" I asked her through our mind link. "More than what you think," she giggled. "What about our demon? I haven't been able to feel him since they announced the news of getting married." I raised a brow. "She has always been like that, maybe a blood bag will brighten her mood," she replied. "She's annoyed." I sighed. "I would be too if it was about me." My wolf replied.

Wait a damn minute, why am I even excited when our mate doesn't even want us. My mother said he was forced by his mother to agree to the marriage and another reason that shares me to the core is that he just arrived in the pack two days before our wedding. What if he flees away before marrying me? Won't I be called a level 10 outcast, maybe ending in the historical days of the pack? "That will be bad,"

I jumped out of bed with a broken heart. I looked over at my dress and then at my makeup collections. I wasn't someone who lived on makeup, I was make-up-free but my mother couldn't stop buying me all the latest collections from famous brands. "Scared?" My wolf teased. "As much as you are," I sighed as I passed my fingers on my wedding gown. It was a beautiful white mermaid wedding dress with pearls at the bottom. "A beautiful dress for a beautiful lady." I smiled to myself.

The door swung open with a bang. I turned my eyes only to be entertained with an evil smirk from my twin sister Barbra Crawford. She was the devil herself, the type of person you could never wish to get near to. A white lotus. A wolf in the sheep's skin. She found her mate five years ago. Like in history, Twins were meant to have one mate but it wasn't the case for us, we were never meant to have this sweet connection that other twins share but rather a bitter-sweet relationship and mockery, insults, and hatred from her. We were the opposite of each other. She was thunder and I had no superpower. I was a brunette and she was a redhead, just like my mother. My eyes were brown, hers were hazel, just like my dad's. She was 6 feet, a foot taller than me.

"The fuck are you doing in my room, which?" I said with sarcasm dripping off every word. Each word that came out of my mouth tasted like a toxin, her presence alone was like a born stuck under my throat.

She grinned a perfect smile at me as she stepped another step forward, closing the step between us.

"Is that how you treat your older sister, Beata? I just came to wish my sister a happy marriage with her destined mate who doesn't even want her. What an outcast to the pack and our parents!" she stated evilly as she observed my reaction. My reaction remained unchanged. I was used to insults and names from her and my parents. It wasn't something to be angry at or even react to. Seeing my stoic reaction, Barbra took another step with a smirk.

"Well, at least I'm happy that the witch of the century has finally found herself a partner." She teased while fondling through my hair. I placed at her, I noticed a small bump on her stomach. She was pregnant with her second child. "You will never leave me alone for once, why?" I raised a curious brow.

She was looking for trouble. Just in case something happened to her, I would be the one to blame. I would be the evil sister who can't be happy for her sister. Everyone in the pack hates me. Even the little kids who were born under my watch hate me, how can I expect my mate to love me?

Barbara chuckled at my words and she started walking around me.

"How naive! Do you know how it feels to have a sister like you, A twin sister." she spoke the words 'Twin sister' loud and clear. "What about me?" I narrowed my eyes with a sigh before I continued "We used to be close when we were little kids and it's all because of you that I'm called an outcast. I saved you." A tear threatened to fall from my eyes but I rolled them and prevented them from pouring.

"Everyone in the pack knows that you were fucked by five rogues. Five big dicks in one tiny hole. Did you want me to be raped? You sacrificed yourself for me." she laughed out loud as if it was something good to be reminded of a person. I heaved a sigh, my hands trembling with both fear and anger as the memories of that day flashed back in my head. It was the worst day of my life I never wanted to remember it. I had sealed that memory deep down in my head but my sister whom I took all the pain for had reminded me about it.

"It wasn't my fault that I was fucking gang raped by those damned rouges. It was never my fault." I shouted as tears streamed down my face. I swore to myself to never cry in front of any of the people who caused me pain but here I was crying like a baby. My sister's face beamed up like she had witnessed what she was waiting for. She was evil but I didn't expect her to go to such lengths on my wedding day. I looked down at Barbra to see her eyebrow raised in amusement.

"It wouldn't look good for you to come out in that pretty wedding dress covered in tears and snot. How about a quick rest, darling?" she said with a stupid smirk plastered on her face. She won and I lost. I always lost to her. I slowly walked away from her with gritted teeth "You will pay for everything you made me go through," I assured her before stomping off my room. I couldn't believe that after five years of meeting Barbra she still made me cry like the little coward I always was.

On my way out, I bumped into someone who annoyed me even more by attempting to touch my dress. "What a jerk!" I exclaimed before I walked out of the scene. My wolf screamed 'Mate' but I didn't give a damn about who he was.
