No turning back.

Yun Meiyi didn't have many things to take from Yun Mansion. She never owned a treasure here. Like any other insignificant person living in the mansion, she has been staying here with a few of her stuff that comprises little things.

And basically, she wasn't here actually for her things. She has come back here just to ensure that the people here know that she no longer would have ties with any of them. But only after coming here, does she come to know that last night itself, her father left on a business trip.

"That would be enough. Please let the rest remain here. I don't need them." Yun Meiyi said when she saw the maids stuffing some precious jewelry pieces in her bag.

The maid looked puzzled. Looking at the lady, one of them asked, "But Elder Miss they are yours. You can keep them with you. That way you would be able to live more comfortably."

Yun Meiyi smiled and shook her head. "Even without them, I would be able to live comfortably. Furthermore, those are not mine but of Yun Mansion. You can leave them here itself." She said before walking ahead to close the bag and then walking to the wardrobe on the side to get her file.

Stuffing it back in the bag, she was ready to get the suitcase down when the maids standing on the side mustered up the courage to ask. "Elder Miss, are you really leaving the house?"

Yun Meiyi nodded. To which they further added earnestly to ask, "Can we accompany you? We would help you out with daily things. That way it wouldn't be tough for you." They said with concern but their words like that only made Yun Meiyi smile. The curve of her lips wasn't an intention of mockery, rather it was a curl of amusement.

"You want to follow me around?" She asked and the maids nodded. To which, she further added to ask, "But I may not be able to offer you money. Will you still want to follow me?"

The maids paused and turned to exchange their gazes. The reluctance could be seen on their faces. Yun Meiyi didn't hurry, instead gave them the time to decide.

After a small while, she saw them finally turning to look back at her. One of them said, "Elder Miss, Ming Lie has an old mother to look after who often gets ill. So, she needs the money. But I am just an orphan who is saving money for the studies of my brother, I can go with you. You won't need to pay me. I would just serve you and find another job to help my brother. There wouldn't be a problem."

She said, and Yun Meiyi just smiled at their concern. Only if her family had been half like this then she wouldn't have ended up in such a perilous state.

Shaking her head, she rejected, "I understand all of your concerns. But you don't have to do it. Money is important in anyone's life. Stay here and earn well. I wouldn't need a maid as of now. But when I require them, I would definitely remember to call both of you." She said and with those last words, she took her bag and left the room.

Behind the maid stood there with complicated expressions.

While on the other side, soon descending the steps, Yun Meiyi was ready to walk out when Lin Su Yi halted her.

"Where do you think you are going, Meiyi? Go back to your room and unpack your bags." Lin Su Yi ordered and Yun Meiyi turned to look at her with an arch of amusement on her brows. "I have forgiven you. I will let your mistake slide off this time. But you better not repeat it next time, okay?" She added with arrogance and her delusion like that really entertained her.

"Did I ever ask for your forgiveness, Aunt Lin?" She asked and Lin Su Yi felt insulted.

"You? Aren't you being too shameless, Meiyi? Don't you have any sense of apology?" Seeing Yun Meiyi getting so blatant with her, Lin Su Yi saw red. Her fingers balled up as she got ready to lunge forward to charge at her but then held back, remembering all the insults she had faced today.

Yun Meiyi's lips curved up in a sardonic smile as without holding any expression of guilt she said, "Not as shameless as you, Aunt Lin. If you truly wanted me not to leave, you should have found a better way to say this. Your ways were too typical and I am bored of it already."

She said and Yun Jiaqi desperately interjected to ask, "Will you stay if we ask the other way?" She asked and the curve of Yun Meiyi's lips couldn't help but grow deeper.

"After showing your ugly face to me last night, do you think that you have left any leeway?" She said, and Yun Jiaqi bit her lower lip.

"Sister YiYi, I …" Before she could say more, Yun Meiyi turned around to leave, mercilessly leaving her with her words.

Lin Su Yi felt her nerves ache. Resisting that ache, she still tried to give it a last try. "Meiyi, are you sure that you want to sever the ties with the Yun family house today?" She asked.

On her words like that, Yun Meiyi halted again in her movements, while the butler on the side grew worried. "Madam!"

Wasn't the girl only leaving the place? From where did the question of her severing the ties with the family appear?

Lin Su Yi didn't pay any heed to the butler's anxious call. Instead, she continued, "Keep it in your mind, if you leave today, there would be no turning back. No matter how you urge me later, I won't take you back to the house." She said as arrogance became more and more visible in her voice. "So, you better think twice before leaving this door today. If you want to sever ties with the family, I have no issue. But that would definitely be very uncomfortable for you."
