'I am human with feelings that you keep hurting. Why are you doing this to me? Making me feel like less?' I asked.
'Trust me Kassy, I'm not doing anything. You just need to know when to stop and I'll give you a hint, right now.' She tapped the files again.
'Do you love this Jess?' I asked.
'That is not any of your concern now, is it.' She tapped the files again.
She wanted me to leave her office without having to tell me explicitly.
'I'll leave.' I stood up.
'Have a nice day, Kassy.' She waved.
'Oh no. I'm not leaving just yet. I'm going to come back after the identification. We need to look for Amber.' I walked to the door.
'I know you're trying to look out for your friend but she's an adult. Have you stopped to ask yourself if she just needs her space?'
There was no way Amber only needed space. No matter what anyone told me, I had made up my mind to find her and see for myself that she was well.
