I liked seeing my sister that happy, it made me happy too.
'I'm going to take an afternoon nap, I've been under too much stress lately.' I said.
'Do you maybe want to grab ice cream later this evening? I'll take care of the bills.' That was the Alicia I knew.
She always spent money on impulse whenever she was happy.
'Sure, I'd love nothing more.' I went to my room.
I needed to sleep. I wanted to think about my decision on Kolin's case. Even though I knew my thinking was hurting me and the baby I was carrying, I did it anyway.

Eight days to Kolin's first birthday.

I spent the entire day in the hospital with Amber. She was unconscious and in a very bad state but lucky for me, the doctors said it was okay to visit.
She looked different from how she did nine months earlier. Her face looked smaller and tighter. She was skinnier and her skin was very pale, like she hadn't eaten in a very long while.
