Combat mode? weak

Swirling sounds and sounds of metal shifting followed as Vee saw the palm of the puppet disappear…more like withdrawn back into its arm and what was left was a hole that looked like the mouth of a missile launcher.

Swirling sounds once again sounded within the puppet as it began to build up energy for the attack, the inside of the opening in its arm also lit up with red color.

'Hmm, the aura of the attack is slowly climbing to the Nebula rank but why did she say I should not attack? What will happen if I do?' Vee thought to himself as he prepared to defend against the attack of the puppet.

Stars began to appear above him one after the other which he started to link together to form star patterns, he soon created five star patterns and proceeded to connect them into a constellation. The entire process took him three seconds to complete; he had done this on purpose.

At the same time, the puppet finished building up its energy and was ready to attack. The red glow inside its hand began to glow even brighter and the next second…

Boom!!

A fire blast was sent flying towards Vee, its speed well matched the attack at the Nebula rank as it crossed the space between them in seconds.

Vee stared at the incoming fire blast and got ready to intercept it with his own attack, the constellation behind him glowed intensely as lightning ran across its surface.

"Lightning palm," Vee muttered.

Boom!!

A burst of lightning came flying from within the constellation and formed into a five-meter-tall lightning palm before heading for the incoming fire blast.

Both attacks collided in mid-air and what followed was an explosion that sent shockwaves everywhere, though the shockwave was not strong enough to push either Vee or the puppet back.

The red-haired woman nodded when she saw Vee had managed to stop the fire blast. After all, the lightning element was not a defense-type element.

Meanwhile, Vee stared at the puppet that was currently standing motionless but its glowing red eyes had not dimmed which showed that the test was not over.

'Oh, right. There are still two more attacks I need to stop, but what will happen if I attack it?' Vee thought to himself, getting really curious right now.

In the end, he decided to try it and see for himself.

Not waiting for the puppet to start building energy for the next attack, Vee once again brought out his star patterns which he quickly connected to a constellation.

The eyes of the red-haired woman widened slightly as the sign of sleepiness on her face vanished briefly.

"What are you doing?!"

Vee heard the voice of the red-haired woman but did not pay her any attention and focused on the puppet.

" Lighting fist" he called out.

Instantly, lightning exploded out from the constellation and formed into a huge lightning palm which flew towards the puppet. Vee made sure that the attack was only at the Nebula rank so it should not be too much for the puppet to handle, right?

As Vee had expected, just before the lightning fist landed on the puppet, it jumped to the side at a fast speed and dodged the lightning fist.

BAM!

The lightning fist landed on the black wall and dispersed.

"Sigh, why did you have to attack it? Now it has entered combat mode, get ready. Its next two attacks won't be like the last one"

The voice of the red-haired woman rang out again and Vee's eyes lit up in expectancy. But he seemed to have forgotten that even when the puppet had entered into combat mode, it was still at the Nebula mage rank.

Vee effortlessly defeated the puppet after a few seconds, although it still took some effort since he had to limit himself to the Nebula rank, the battle still felt too easy.

Luckily, they were limited to just spells. Things would have ended quickly had Vee touched the puppet and accidentally used too much strength.

"That was…unexpected. Congratulations on passing the test strength" the red-haired woman said after Vee came out of the place.

She had expected Vee to struggle against the puppet after it went into combat mode since the puppet would start to move a lot and its attack would be unexpected, but Vee did not struggle as she had expected and easily won the puppet.

Vee only nodded and requested to get on with the other tests when he realized that he had wasted too much time already and needed to return to the academy soon before Alex found out that he was missing.

Though he did not give his reason for wanting to rush the tests to the red-haired woman and only said that he had other things to do, the woman had no issue with this and happily complied; she was after all very tired herself.

Vee quickly got into the space for the speed test.

He felt himself go through another barrier and appeared in the place that he could see from outside, the track space.

But Vee was surprised after entering the space, now he realized why the red-haired woman had told him that he would understand the space after entering.

"Space formation? But which one is it? A spatial realm or multiple space laying formation?" Vee wondered aloud as he looked around himself in amazement. He found himself on an open race track that was over a kilometer long, the space completely different from what he had seen from outside.

The two formations that he had mentioned were space-creating formations that had the ability to bend space according to the will of the formation master. One had the ability to create a completely different space in a designated location while the other would cut different places from the real world and fold them together to create a multiple-space laying formation.

"This is the speed test and like I said before, it will test your reaction speed and your movement speed. Rest assured, what you will face will not be too difficult for a Nebula rank mage to handle even if you are not a speed-based mage" the voice of the red-haired woman sounded and the test began.

The group below Vee's feet vibrated slightly before suddenly splitting apart and beginning to collapse, he was forced to move forward without being told.
