Ye Jin followed the attendant in silence until they reached a grand, luxurious carriage adorned with intricate gold filigree and an emblem of a coiled black serpent. It was the unmistakable crest of the Detri Dukedom. The butler opened the door, bowing slightly before stepping inside.
"Bring her in," a smooth baritone voice said from within the carriage.
The attendant entered the carriage with Ye Jin beside him.
The attendant sat down, but Ye Jin stood, unsure if she should sit or not.
The carriage lurched forward as the driver whipped the horses . The sudden jolt caused Ye Jin to stumble, and before she could regain her footing, she found herself suspended midair, as if some invisible force was keep hold of her.
Her breath hitched, but the moment of stillness gave her a chance to fully take in the target, her new master.
