Ye Jin stood in front of the hill, stretching her legs as she prepared to run up. Suddenly, she saw a figure tumble down from the hill.
Her heart dropped. Wasn't that Xi Ming?
She rushed in the direction he had fallen and saw his crumpled figure on the ground, blood staining the grass beneath him.
Ye Jin knelt beside his unconscious body and took his hand, checking his pulse.
A wave of relief washed over her. He was still alive.
Her face scrunched into a frown afterward. It seemed that he had fainted due to a fever and severe starvation. His body had been pushed past its limits, causing him to basically shut down.
Without wasting another minute, Ye Jin carefully lifted him, her arms almost wrapping around his frail body.
He's too thin, she thought.
