Gu Yan stood at the door of Ye Jin's house, hesitating to knock. After his conversation with his brother, he realized that it would be much better if he met the culprit. The culprit who caused him to be unable to control his emotions.
Gu Yan looked at the bag he was holding. It contained boba tea, roasted duck, fried chicken, and dumplings. He had gotten them on his way because he noticed that she liked them. He had also gotten cookies—more expensive than the ones Mei Yun had given Ye Jin—and added some gummy bears. They were sweet, and he liked them, so she should like them.
Who hated sweets?
But then, he had a feeling she wouldn't like them. It was an instinctual feeling, so he pocketed them.
Hopefully, she'd accept the rest.
Finally gathering up the courage, Gu Yan knocked on the door, but there was no answer. He knocked again, harder, but still no response.
He sighed.
Maybe she wasn't home.
