Late autumn, Maple city.
As the soft red rays of the setting sun entered the wooden carriage through the paper window, Andrew shifted uncomfortably on his seat.
He couldn't help it, as a person born and raised in modern times, how could he have ever experienced such discomforting means of transport?
Sigh——
"I really can't get used to it!"
As he muttered in a small voice, he redirected his attention to the system window that was floating in front of him.

When Andrew entered, it was still morning inside the game.
After digesting the information about the novel, he spent his morning exploring the world and gameplay, to which he only has 3 words: "Too Damn realistic".
If he had not worn the gaming device himself, if not for the adjustable game setting such as pain sensitivity, he would have thought that he had transmigrated to another world.
The "NPC's" not only look and act like real people, but they are able to have conversations with him on any topic.
Their expressions are complete, be it respect, puzzlement, disgust, they always show the right reactions appropriately.
After a morning of exploring, and gaining a small reputation of having some mental problems, Andrew grew bored and wanted to go find the protagonist.
That was when he realized that the protagonist, Garfield, had yet to arrive in the city!
He checked on the game system, and learnt that he would have to wait until dusk in order to see the protagonist.
That meant that he would have to wait for more than six hours!
So Andrew tried logging off, but what he got in response was the system notification he is currently looking at.
He had already read it a few times during the day, but he still couldn't accept it, and he felt very aggrieved.
"Who reads the terms and conditions before playing a game?"
"This kind of thing should have been a pop up that players are forced to read!"
Andrew felt that as a player, he had the right to know this kind thing, so that he could be mentally prepared.
Sigh——
After sighing again, Andrew forcefully dispelled his gloomy mood and decided to focus on the matter at hand — Tailing the protagonist, Garfield.
Having just transmigrated a few days ago, with only the clothes on his back, Garfield did not have any money on his person.
He spent a few days living with a kind family that took him in, but refused to work as a laborer for his food and accommodation, and he was kicked out.
Garfield believes that as a modern person, he is far superior to the likes of those village folks, so he will not be their servant.
He decided to go to the city and make a lot of money, just so that he can show those country bumpkins that they missed a treasure.
How could they, country bumpkins, refuse to make their daughter his concubine?
Although the novel made it look like the family was short sited and made the protagonist look much more nicer, that is how it is once the observer drops the rose coloured lenses.
After all, who would agree to make his/her daughter, the concubine of some suspicious homeless person, who doesn't even have identification documents to show where he is from?
Right now, Garfield had just arrived in the city and has no where to stay.
So he followed the first beautiful woman he saw to her home, and when she was about to enter her house, he used his charm to convince her to let him stay the night.
Even though the protagonist is indeed handsome, Andrew doesn't believe in this so called "charm".
So he wants to see what exactly made this woman who lives alone, welcome a complete stranger into her house after a few words.
A wooden carriage slowly trailed a few dozen meters behind a handsome man who was following a pretty woman.
The man was wearing a worn out track suit and and sneakers, he looked very out of place in the environment where everyone was wearing ancient style clothes.
The woman looked to be thirty or so years, but still had a youthful air about her.
Although a very out of place man was following her, she seemed to not be able to notice.
Every time she was about to turn around, a golden sphere will spread to the surroundings with Garfield as it's origin.
When the golden sphere comes in contact with the pretty lady, she would somehow stop her action of turning around, and when it comes in contact with other people, they would stop treating Garfield as "conspicuous".
Hence the people they passed all focused their attention on the horse carriage tailing the protagonist.
Andrew didn't really care if he was discovered, but he still maintained a distance that didn't make his stalking too obvious.
The most weird thing about Garfield's golden sphere was that no one seemed to be able to notice it, except for Andrew!
Even Garfield himself seemed to be oblivious of it.
"Is this the so called, protagonist's halo?"
'A scary ability!'
Andrew thought as he brought up the system's task window.
...
[Main task: Destroy the protagonist's halo, and make him a normal world inhabitant.
Progress: 0%]
...
'But how am I supposed to destroy this ability of his?'
'I think killing him would the easiest way, but as a protagonist, that would probably be harder than ascending to heaven.'
"Umm, system, can you show me Garfield's stats?"
Andrew decided to try his luck, and to his surprised a window of Garfield's stats popped up.
...
[Name: Garfield Robertson
Age: 22
Realm: Mortal
Golden finger 1: can use offsprings to be reborn 3 times while keeping strength intact.
Golden finger 2 (hidden): protagonist's halo that manifests itself to people as 'luck'.
Golden finger 3 (hidden): forcefully lowering the IQ of people near, around, and/or those that have karmic cause with him.]
...
Just as he was looking at the status window, the carriage came to a halt.
He looked out of the widow to see the pretty lady walking into a home with a small courtyard.
Just as she was about to enter her home, a deep voice from behind her.
"Excuse me, this pretty lady."
