Andrew lay on his bed, looking at his newly acquired immersive gaming device, as he muttered to himself:
"Can I really game with these small sunglasses?"
Although he called it "sunglasses", the device was much bulkier than sunglasses.
The sides seemed to be made of white plastic, housing some components, as it was thick, with a few buttons that could be pressed, but the main part was the green colored thing that made it look like sunglasses.
Currently, the main gaming devices in the market were gaming helmets, that helped gamers immerse themselves in the game world, so Andrew could not be blamed for his skepticism.
"Even if it is possible, will it really give a super real immersive feeling as promised?"
He suspected that he was cheated, but he remembered that he got it for free, so with the mentality of "what if", he decided to give it a try.
After putting the device on, he pressed one of the few buttons on the device, a few seconds passed, and he felt himself lose control of his body, and panicked.
Before he could completely loose his marbles, there was a pop up in front of his eyes.
...
[Welcome to the <<Rectifier>> game, would you like to start playing?
Yes / No]
...
'No!'
Andrew decisively answered in his mind, as he was trying to get back the control of his body.
Having been paralyzed in the bottom half of his body most of his life, nothing terrified him more than suddenly loosing control of his body, so Andrew was really panicked!
Other gaming devices let the player control his in game character with his mind, there will always be a connection with the body, but this game seemed to be able to sever this connection.
What surprised him was that, after he answered, he immediately gained back the control of his upper body, letting him heave a sigh of relief.
A minute later, after calming down his nerves, he realized that what happened to him before seemed to be a part of the process he needs to go through in order to play the game.
Andrew looked at the "sunglasses" in his hands, lost in thought.
He was really uncomfortable with the idea of loosing control of his body, but given how quickly he gained back control, it was quite clear that the company that designed the device had mature technology.
'Such technology probably went through a lot of vetting before it could be released to the public, right?'
'So it won't malfunction, right?'
Andrew looked at the device with both apprehension and expectation.
After all, in the advertisements of the game, the company claimed that it could let the gamers experience a different world.
They claimed that even the blind would be able to see in the game, so someone like him should be able to experience the feeling of being able to walk again, right?
Andrew finally made the choice to give the game another try, while reminding himself:
"Hope is poison to the heart, don't expect any miracles, Andrew,"
"As long as the gaming experience is good, then it is worth the try,"
His words said one thing, but his clasped hands and steadily increasing heart rate told another story.
...
[Welcome to the <<Another world>> game, would you like to start playing?
Yes / No]
...
'Yes'
Andrew answered in his heart.
In the next moment, Andrew felt weirdly light, and then there seemed to be thousands of lights wheezing past in his surroundings.
Although he didn't understand what was happening, he felt that it was strangely beautiful.
Looking down at his current self, Andrew found that he had some sort of blue translucent body that could be seen through.
'Is this supposed to be my soul?'
3 minutes later.
Andrew had seen everything there was to see, but the scenery was still the same, and he felt very bored.
"Oi oi, isn't this taking too long?"
"Is the game still loading resources? What is happening?"
Considering there was not even a loading bar or anything else, Andrew started panicking again.
But there was really nothing he could do, he couldn't even control his body to remove the game device.
Just as he was daze, a voice full of vicissitudes of life resounded around him, waking him up.

[The great Dao has created 3,000 small worlds, the worlds are based on novels made by the most creative creatures from the first world it created.
Then the great Dao let it's subordinates, the heavenly Dao, oversee the small worlds, but now, it has been accused of being unfair!
The protagonists of some worlds have too much luck and cheats, and so, they bring lack of balance to these worlds.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to travel to these worlds and rectify the situation.
The more worlds you rectified, the greater the reward you shall receive!]
...
'How interesting!'
As an avid reader of web novels, he can say with confidence that if one makes a world out of those trashy novel plots, it would probably be a mess.
He found such a game concept to be refreshing, and he was already feeling anticipation for the gameplay.
As the voice came to a halt, Andrew found himself floating in the void, and in front of him, was a planet that glowed green.
It seemed to have way more continents and island than his original planet.
The key part is that it looked very real, even more so than the planets that were photographed by the scientists in "the real world".
Andrew couldn't help feeling that the long time he spent waiting would be worth it, if it meant that the rest of the game will be of this quality.
...
[After a long journey across multiple galaxies, you have finally arrived at the first world to be rectified.
This is a small world with a backward power system, that peaks at second order.]
[<go back home> / <start rectifying> / <go to another world>]
...
Andrew noticed that the last option was greyed out, and figured that this was some sort of novice world.
Only by being able to rectify this world, would he prove that he could handle the responsibility of choosing worlds at will.
'I had to wait for so long just to get here, so I definitely can't go back empty handed...'
He thought, as he chose to start rectifying the world.

[Searching for characters that match your soul frequency, please wait.]
...
[3 matching characters found, please select your desired character.
Note: You will play in first person perspective, please choose wisely.]
...
Andrew was disappointed that he did not get to create his character, but he could accept having to choose from three.
When the three pictures appeared in front of him, Andrew became annoyed again.
Two of the three pictures depicted women, with big breasts and wide hips, as a big man, how could his soul possibly match with that of these women?
"Is this what you mean by "characters that match your soul frequency"?"
Andrew knew that the game probably used a randomizing feature to choose from the pool of characters available, but he was still annoyed.
Ignoring the two female characters, Andrew focused on the single male character.
The character had a slightly chubby face with handsome features, and he was wearing a luxurious brocade robe that had auspicious beast patterns woven in gold.
He had an air of wealth, that set him off as a typical merchant from ancient times.
'There really isn't much of a choice here...'
Andrew thought as he decisively selected the male character.
The moment he made his choice, his vision went blank for a few seconds, and then he appeared in front of the "character" he chose.
Swoosh——
There was a soft white glow as Andrew's soul body entered the character's body.
And in that moment, some information was transmitted to him in a way he had never experienced.
The information went straight into his head and he understood it immediately.
"Damn! With such technology, why make games? This could totally put an end to the education sector!"
Although surprised, for some reason, Andrew suddenly lost intrest in the topic!
He started focusing on the "novel plot", that was just transmitted into his mind.
In this world, the protagonist is someone who has transmigrated from a modern society, to this world with an ancient society.
The main characters golden finger (cheat), is that he has 3 lives!
He can be reincarnated twice as long as he has living offsprings in the world.
So he spends his first life making money and children, his second life practicing martial arts to the peak, and he surpasses the peak of the world in the third life.
After he became the strongest, he dubbed himself as the emperor of the world, and started his tyrannical rule at the peak of life.
