[Main task: Destroy the protagonist's halo, and make him a normal world inhabitant.

Looking at the suddenly changed figure, Andrew frowned, feeling puzzled.
"Why did it suddenly decrease?" He muttered in a low voice.
'Does the halo automatically recover on its own?'
'Do I need to destroy it all at once?'
'Maybe Garfield did something to make the halo recover?'
'I probably need to observe and experiment more, before I can fully understand how this halo thing works, and how to destroy it.'
He decided to send someone to investigate what happened after he left first thing tomorrow morning.
Andrew had considered going back to have a look for a moment, but ultimately decided against it.
The journey was relatively long, electricity had not been invented yet, so the streets were deserted and dark.
Only the silver moon and the scattered stars provided some light to guide the way.
If Andrew delayed the journey back any longer, they might meet bandits or something, after all, the world he is in is not a peaceful world.
Instead of dwelling on this, he decided to try calling up his status window.

[Real Name: Andrew Cook
Character Name: Mathew Harden
Age: 28
Realm: Mortal
Cheat: —

...
The person Andrew is currently playing as, Mathew Harden, is the young patriarch of the Harden family, a family that made it's wealth through making and selling clothes.
The Harden family has a long history, with Mathew being the fourth generation patriarch.
When Andrew thinks of how in the novel, such a great family, with such a deep foundation, had it's business destroyed within 2 months, he can't help but feel that it's ridiculous.
In a few days, Mathew's fiance will reject Garfield's courting because she is already engaged, and that will be the starting point of the destruction of the Harden family.
Thinking of How the character he is playing as, was coerced into giving away his younger sister as a concubine, the kind of concubine that was thrown to the back of the storage to eat ashes (forgotten) after giving birth.
Feeling neglected, his younger sister, Natasha, met with her childhood sweetheart one day, and they rekindled their old love.
Of course, the protagonist never wears a green hat, if any of his women have a tendency to cheat, his sixth sense will warn him that something is wrong.
So Mathew's little sister was killed by Garfield, and at that point in time, Garfield's business empire was bigger than that of the Harden family, and he had a lot of officials backing him, so Mathew's attempt at revenge was easily to help their business rival grow.
Unlike other people that seem to be "forced" to help the protagonist, Anthony seemed to have done it with his own motive, he wanted to be the patriarch of the Harden family.
Thinking up to here, Andrew decided to observe carefully, to see wether his current younger brother, Anthony, was affected by the protagonist's halo.
If he was not affected by the protagonist's halo in doing such things, then he should not blame him for being ruthless and forgetting family affection!

Some time later.
The carriage arrived at the high end residential area, this was where most of the rich and/ or noble people of Maple city live.
Although the Harden family does not have a noble title, they have a lot of wealth and and connections, hence they can receive treatment similar to that of a Barron family.
This can be seen from the fact that Mathew can use a horse drawn carriage with two horses in the city.
As a society that places importance on classes, there are rules that give benefits to different classes, such as civilians not being allowed to use horses in cities, and different levels of nobility being allowed to use a different number of horses.
The Harden mansion was very big with several courtyards, after all, although the main family line had only three people, Andrew and his siblings, some side family branches also lived here.
After arriving, he brushed off the butler who came to find him to review the accounting books of the various businesses, and went straight to bed.
...
When Andrew woke up, the sun was not yet up.
"I understand why the people from the past were more hardworking than the people of modern times."
"No one would feel like lazing around all day if their bed is this uncomfortable!"
He said as he got off the rosewood bed and beat his back with his right hand.
As he made his way to Mathew's study, Andrew felt that everything around him was creepily familiar.
After searching his mind, he realized that he had actually inherited Mathew's memories!
"Is this another hidden function of the game?"
"Why does it feel like I have transmigrated to another world?"
Thinking so, he called up a different system window.

Looking at the countdown, he felt more at ease.
Mathew's study was not far from his room, he arrived very quickly.
Looking at the tabulated numerical data that would normally send his head spinning, he actually felt a bit of intimacy.
Andrew knew that these feelings should originate from Mathew, after all, it could be said that he spent half of his life looking at, studying, and analysing such reports.
That was how he was able to take over the family business with relative ease, when his father was seriously injured by bandits and passed away early.
In the memories that Andrew inherited, he experienced the Mathew's whole life, from childhood, through the downfall of his family's business, until his death.
Before experiencing these memories, he had the mentality of playing a game, but now he felt that this was personal.
"I definitely won't let that bastard succeed!"
