Setia sat on the couch in her living room once again, after a nice hot bath, as she thought about the day's events. Nursing a healthy glass of wine in her hand, she thought back to the bright hazel eyes of the alpha and the sweet scent he was giving off. She shivered. Something about him seemed so familiar.
A knock on her door snapped her out of her reverie. She frowned. Not expecting anyone, she got up and made her way to the door, smoothing her hair quickly. She opened it. She paused and raised a brow, looking up at Darien standing in her doorway.
"Hello, princess." He smiled and walked past her into the apartment. She scowled, just barging in here! "Nice place." He commented, sounding surprised. He likely expected more from an Alpha's daughter than this small one-bedroom apartment.
"It serves well enough. I don't remember inviting you." She said pointedly. He smiled and shrugged.
"I thought we should check in after your big meeting today. And I was curious about you." He admitted. He turned to look her in the eyes. "You seem so familiar. Have we met before?" He asked her, moving in closer to her. She shook her head, placing her hands on the counter behind her.
"No, not in this lifetime." She said, inhaling she smelled sweet cloves. She unconsciously leaned in closer to him. Her heart raced, her eyes dilated. She shook her head. Then she saw his eyes flare. He inhaled deeply. His eyes half lidded, and he leaned in to her. Oh no! She didn't mask her scent.
"Your scent… Omega?" He leaned in to her neck and nuzzled, taking a deep inhale. She shivered, feeling his hands resting on her arms. She felt completely at his mercy. Her body reacted to him, he pressed her against him and she felt the hard line of his body, his heartbeat hot and rapid against her.
"Smells so good." He said in a low growl. She felt his lips brush against the side of her neck and she gasped. Her head swam with his scent. She felt like she was on fire, needing every spot where their bodies touched. She shook her head and pushed away from him.
"I am not a breeder." She said, smoothing her hands down her shirt. She flushed and looked away from him. He looked at her with wide eyes and shook his head to clear it.
"I'm sorry, I just wasn't prepared." As he was talking, his eyes flickered red.
'That means the pheromones are taking over. Calm him!' Eli chirped in her head. She struggled to breathe.
"The Alpha met with me today, gave me my access card, basically told me not to mess with him." She said, changing to a neutral topic. The haze cleared from his eyes and his vision cleared.
"And what did you say to that?"
"I told him not to get in MY way, and that I'd do my job." She smirked. Darien nodded, biting his lower lip.
"Funny, but don't get too far on his nasty side, we need him." He smiled. Setia scoffed and waved him off.
"I'm just getting him riled up. It's all in good fun." She winked. He bit his lower lip and put his hands in his pockets awkwardly.
"Are you ready to do what's necessary to get the information?" He asked her, staring into her eyes. What did he mean, romancing the alpha?
"What do you think I'll have to do?" She asked innocently. He flushed and clenched his fists at his sides.
"Seduce him, make him care for you." He reached forward and held a strand of her hair between his fingers. She swallowed audibly.
"I'm prepared." She met his gaze and didn't flinch. His gaze went to her lips.
"The thought makes me angry. But that's crazy, I don't even know you." He whispered. "You make a good soldier." He said, finally.
"I do what I can. We need the information." She answered. "I have a mission, sir." She said with a smirk. His eyes grew hungry when she called him 'Sir', and he stared at her lips again.
"I don't feel like a good commander right now." He whispered. Setia smiled.
"How do you feel?" She asked.
Instead of answering, he kissed her. Their lips met in a fury of passion and she moaned softly, remembering the taste of him. Sweet. His tongue met with hers, and they battled for dominance. A battle that he won, invading her mouth, consuming her. He leaned her back against the counter, placing his hands on her hips and pulling her against him. He ran his hands up and down her back, over her ass. She smelt the sweet clove scent, getting stronger. He pulled back and rested his forehead against hers, panting. She was also panting.
"I'd better stop, before I can't." His eyes were flashing red again, and they were filled with hunger. She smirked.
"So in control, Commander." She purred, dragging her nails down his spine. He groaned low in his throat.
"Temptress." He smiled, but pushed away from her. "Keep me updated. I'll check in as often as I can." He headed to her door. With a last look over his shoulder and a wink, he was out into the night.
Setia sighed and leaned against the counter for support. Wow. That had not gone as expected, but she knew that their chemistry was undeniable. She shook her head. She had to remember that she had a mission to accomplish, but she couldn't help but be lured in by him.
She poured herself another glass of wine. Eli dinged and popped out of the bracelet, staring at her with a raised brow.
"What?" she asked innocently, flushing bright red.
"Shameless!" He groaned. "You have a mission, remember."
"I know, I know." She waved him off. "I won't forget the mission."
She dressed down for bed and climbed under the soft covers of her plush bed. The sweet lull of sleep quickly grasped her.
