Quest Maker of Soul Land

Willingly dying at the hands of his only teacher to repay all his debt, Jason simultaneously plans his reincarnation and finds himself in the body of an 'evil' cultivator named Ja Sun wanted by one of the three strongest power of the Douluo Continent— Spirit Hall. But hope isn't lost. His trait from his previous life never left his side and now he will make missions in the Douluo Continent and live another life, this time, a life not owed to anybody. *** Note: I do not own the cover art. Timeline: The events of this fanfics take place eleven years before the start of the main novel. Of course, I do not own the Douluo Dalu universe. Since I am writing about the timeline never covered in the major timeline to completion, many things may be a part of the fanfiction but not mentioned in canon. *** Ps: After seeing a few complaints, I realized to add two warnings. The mc is definitely a trained fighter and not innocent since he can kill but he doesn't go around killing that much even when others love to do it. I know, it's strange since it's a cn novel but honestly we have enough men who love to cut roots. And, the character of the individuals from main novel will be slightly AU. For instance, Xiao Wu would only hug and keep chirping Ge, Ge. (Spoilers) The fem mc and others, well, I tried to put more personality, make their tongues sharper but it turned out AU. I accept that and realized that it needed to be mentioned, too. Hope you all enjoy the fanfic. *** Read 60 advance chapters and support the novel @ Patre on.com/Fanharem

{A/N: At first, I had planned a time skip to chalk off every detail and summarize the increase in strength of the group but then I felt that almost 200 chaps lack a level of a slice of life so I changed my plans. There will be a few chapters where I will try to progress the group's relationship as a whole. This means not only for Ja Sun but also other couples and yes, learning from my mistake, I won't be going descriptive on other couple's intimate moments~}

"Welcome fatty," Ja Sun hugged Hu Lana, her stature still recovering to her previous peak after being ballooned up by Xie Xan's demonic seed. While the seed may be demonic, for Ja Sun, Xie Yue already gave a better impression.

"Hey, watch it," Hu Lana pinched the back of Ja Sun's neck rather furiously but much to her exasperation, the pain only made him smile wider.

"Aw, and there's the real package," Ja Sun pushed Hu Lana away, making her yelp. His reaction was pretty much the same as the remaining members of the group as they flooded around a toddler. His skin was fair and his natural blushes stole the hearts of even the likes of Ah Yin and Liu Erlong. There was a reason for such a reaction. The group barely had any maturity regarding pregnancy, so much so that Liu Erlong fainted during the delivery when it was Hu Lana who screamed bloody mary.

But seeing such an adorable product from one of the most feared couples with loud PDA at night really stunned the group in the end. Xie Yue, unlike his mother or father, would stay quiet most of the time and tightly hold a sword plushie eerily familiar to one part of Xie Xan's moon blades— A special commission by the couple for their child from Ja Sun and he charged a sum!

The boy may be cute, but this is the Thunderdome. You pay for things you want!

Pushed aside, Hu Lana and Xie Xan looked at each other with a wry expression.

"We should... just hide and leave them to take care of Xie Yue for the day..." Xie Xan whispered, his tone enticing to Hu Lana who had yet to find time for herself. No doubt she was blessed... but she wanted time off.

"No..." Hu Lana uncharacteristically shook her head, "It feels like all we do is take time off... I want to catch up with you this time. Surpass your rank and then dominate you in every way."

Her whisper, too, enticing. Making Xie Xan feel that suppressing his cultivation would not be a bad deal if they lived in a peaceful society but his deceased father made it sure that Xie Xan wouldn't rest until he reaches the peak himself, too.

"Then you admit to your submission?" Xie Xan breathed, a flush reaching his cheeks.

"For shame, you assholes! Right in front of your boy!" Liu Erlong interrupted with a growl as Hu Lana, annoyed, snapped.

"You don't know what it feels like to only sleep three hours a day and spend the rest of the time taking care of Xie Yue so buzz off ya petty lizard!"

"Huh?" Liu Erlong narrowed her eyes. As usual, bloodlust was the first to seep from her. Even if she didn't mean it, this was simply her muscle memory.

*Uwwaaaaaaaa*

"Stupid bitch, stop that!" Ja Sun cursed and slapped the back of Liu Erlong's head who instantly contained all her bloodlust and looked back with a flustered expression.

"I- I didn't mean to--"

Even she seemed nearing the point of tears way too quickly!

"Sigh, enough..." Bibi Dong groaned and looked at Hu Lana with a strange expression, "Silence him."

"Wow... I expected myself to speak that... sounds stupid," Ah Yin mumbled and Bibi Dong looked at her with a confused expression.

"Sister Dong, how cruel! That's my boy!" Not on Ja Sun's medicinal syrup that helped control her emotional outburst, Hu Lana teared up silently.

"Too much is happening all at once..." Oscar mumbled, a bit dazed.

"Granddaddy~" Jun'er mewled flirtatiously, acting as a submissive kitten while ironically being the literal bitch of the group, "I want one, too!"

Oscar's vision swam as he felt Jun'er feel him up while her nose almost brushed against his neck.

"I need to sit down."

Oscar stumbled.

---

"Right, thank you for this moment of peace," Bibi Dong began after a few long minutes of a chaotic reunion. She first looked at Yuehua, "As I understand, there is no suitable spirit beast for you in the Giant's Forest, am I right?"

"Yes, Sister Dong. Brother Ka-ul and I explored the area for 9 days and found nothing," Yuehua nodded.

"Hmm, fine. Almost a year has passed since we came here and we all have made the best use of our situation except those stuck in the bottleneck. I'm grateful that you helped me out all this time," Bibi Dong smiled, "And I took this chance to solidify my role in this forest, and yesterday, I received the notice that as long as I reach the ranks of the Titled Douluo before anyone else in our generation vying for the seat, I shall be appointed as the Supreme Pontiff left by the will of my master and personally verified by Grandmaster Daoliu."

They didn't need words like congratulations for this news. This was just a condition, after all, and the group had full confidence in Bibi Dong's abilities in the first place.

"Now, as usual, Ah Yin and Ka-ul will accompany each and every one of you needing a spirit ring one at a time except for me. For my spirit ring, I require everyone's assistance but that will come later. For now, I want all of you to breakthrough.

First things first, Yuehua will accompany Ah Yin and Ka-ul until she finds her spirit ring.

And Liu Erlong will be the first to choose her desired location to find her spirit ring since she has been stuck in her bottleneck longer than any of us."

"Finally," Liu Erlong heaved a deep sigh of relaxation.

"After Erlong, Jun'er, you will get your turn. Meanwhile, Ah Yin, you can also try to find a spirit ring for yourself."

Ah Yin nodded.

She had reached her bottleneck after the trip to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well but knowing about the Spirit Souls and a willing spirit beast inside the well, Ah Yin did not worry too much about it. She would be able to take care of her problem of spirit rings in one swoop!

Unlike her, twin martial souls users like Ja Sun and Bibi Dong had more demand for spirit rings since they can accommodate 18 spirit rings!

Now that the schedule was settled, Bibi Dong smiled and began going through the general occurrences in the outside world.

This knowledge was needed since the group hadn't stepped out in a while except for Ah Yin and she didn't particularly care for this information.

The most notable news was the gradual decline of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. They were directly responsible for the act but unwilling to face any form of backlash and loss, they decided to keep silent for their credit. Putting two factions at war simply wasn't worth it.

The second thing was the complete grasp of Spirit Hall as the religious organization over the continent. Every village, town, and city now had dharma statuses looking like Qian Xunji as the various bishops and cardinals preached with a full passion that in the battles against the devil of blood, the Supreme Pontiff had become a god!

This fact was backed with evidence that more than 70% of the population of the continent saw and even many greater factions verified this news.

God.

Rank 100!

It's real and someone became a god!

This news drove spirit hall's prestige greater than the two Empires combined but the Hall continued to spend a load of wealth for public welfare. They helped many individuals, which, according to the higher-ups of the continent, wasn't Spirit Hall's method of operation.

The news made Ja Sun feel weird. He didn't think Qian Xunji would do anything without a reason.

But the sense of urgency he felt from the Bloodline Core of the Three-eyed Golden Lion only grew.

Ja Sun paid it no heed at this point because he had no idea what he should do or the cause of this sensation so he simply saved it for his breakthrough.

Once the meeting came to an end, Liu Erlong wanted to leave immediately. If she was alone in the southern entrance then that would have meant leaving that region unprotected but that wasn't the case at all since Yuehua managed it properly and already had formed a team under Bibi Dong that took care of the southern entrance in her stead. Ja Sun was the same since he knew whom to keep around.

It was Ah Yin's situation that was the simplest. With the virtue of her domain and being in a forested region, Ah Yin invaded the privacy of all her employees and rooted out the spies efficiently. The remaining, although not loyal to her, were loyal to the Spirit Hall and accepted the role of the defendant of the western region with a great deal of honor.

With their luggage always with them within their spirit rings, the group of four set out of the Giant's Forest silently.

Erlong, of course, picked the Star Dou Great Forest as her preferred area of hunting for her sixth spirit ring. She felt that it was long overdue and didn't want to rest until she found a flame attributed reptile.

---

"Damn! No Luck!" Erlong grumbled while reclining on her chair as she blew a breath causing crimson flames to escape her lips and torch the collected wood for a campfire. An entire day had gone by in the blink of an eye and they had yet to find anything suitable for themselves. For a strange reason, ever since entering the forest, Ja Sun kept himself in his spirit transformation. His bulky and moderately silver furred body attracted quite a bit of attention and the golden vajra gauntlets with dark and light stripes looked somewhat gaudy, too. But Ah Yin knew that Ja Sun was using this chance to make the best out of the 10% personal boost of cultivation in this form to leg up the final rank and reach the bottleneck to Spirit Sage himself.

THe CLear Phoenix revealed even more adoration for Ja Sun in this form as the phoenix lineage that the tiger mutated from alongside the Three-eyed Golden Lion truly felt out in the open. Not only that...

"Your third eye is so weird!" Liu Erlong looked at the third vertical eye on Ja Sun's forehead with a strange scowl but also felt curious at the same time now that she had the chance to properly examine it.

"You mean to say I look handsome. More exotic, if you will," Ja Sun responded calmly.

"No... definitely weird," Erlong mumbled as Yuehua elbowed her partner.

"It looks good, Brother Ka-ul," the blue-silver-haired woman smiled pleasantly as Ja Sun accepted the praise with ease as if it was the most natural thing.

"Ah Yin, did you find anything?" Ja Sun inquired. This time they intended to use Ah Yin's domain to its full extent.

"The surrounding five kilometers have nothing close to Erlong's needs but I don't want to spread my reach too far and accidentally cause other stronger spirit beasts to take notice of us," Ah Yin sighed softly. Although it is hard to take notice of her domain, those who did notice it were monsters like Qian Daoliu and absolutely hard to deal with. Even escaping would be questionable then.

Ja Sun nodded as he recalled the four spirit beasts— Two 100000-year-old spirit beasts, one crimson spirit beast turned human and the final bunny spirit beast still going through the metamorphosis to become a human. Even now, Ja Sun was only aware that one of them was the Titan Giant Ape, the other spirit beasts appeared in a human form somehow and Ja Sun didn't know its identity for sure but by now he was aware of many rumors regarding the forest thanks to Redstar.

He was a little enticed to try and pull another spirit beast turned human into their faction but they were severely understaffed if the two 100000-year-old spirit beasts decide to attack. He could take care of one but the other one might as well wreck their team. Unlike a Titled Douluo, a 100000-year-old spirit beast was more fearsome and that is why even after killing Yu Yuanzhen, Bibi Dong didn't want to underestimate her target and wanted her teammates to be in the best condition possible.

Before going to sleep, Ja Sun used a session of Mental Acupuncture Technique on Yuehua only for her to grit through the pain as she would later be revitalized physically and mentally by Ah Yin.

As Yuehua and Erlong entered the tent, Ah Yin gazed at Ja Sun for a few moments before quietly snuggling up to him. Surprised for a moment, Ja Sun easily coiled his arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer a blanket of blue silver variants reached out and covered their backs.

"Say..." Ja Sun finally opened up, "How long do you think it will take me to reach rank 70 without any external means?"

"Hmm, are you trying to compete with me?" Ah Yin questioned.

"A bit, yeah," Ja Sun smiled.

"It took me eight days with almost ten times the speed so... it should take you longer than 60 days. Let's go with not earlier than 60 days," Ah Yin cozied up with a hot sigh escaping her lips as she close her eyes. The crackling sound of the fire was all that was left at the moment.

"What if I say a week?" Ja Sun inquired.

"What do I win if you fail?" Ah Yin opened her eyes with a brilliant streak passing through her blue orbs.

"Hmm... I don't know. With a man like me, you already have pretty much everything," Ja Sun was never stingy in praising himself.

"A head bracelet, make one for me if you lose," Ah Yin snorted, "You will reveal the best of your materials and I get to choose which one of them is used in the construction."

"Fine, if I win, I want to finally try the complete thing in this form," Ja Sun stated.

"Deal!" Ah Yin nodded somberly.

One pale and beautiful hand and one talon covered in golden crystal gauntlet shook hands.

"Your lust is what will take you down, you fool! I would have wanted to try 'that' in 'this' form with you eventually!" Ah Yin suddenly smiled mockingly, "And there's no way you can outspeed me!"

"Your arrogance and ignorance are what will make you 'loose' in my hands, you fool!" Ja Sun snorted in return, "Just you wait for the week."

"You meant I will turn into a loser by your hands, right? As in the loser of the bet?" Ah Yin narrowed her eyes.

Ja Sun's smile only grew wider and more depraved.

In reality, he only needed the slight push to reach rank 70 because of absorbing the clone devil left foot beforehand.

"Hehehe..." Ja Sun chuckled because of his imagination after 30 minutes or so, making Ah Yin scowl, "Stop that weird laugh!"
