IT master

Waking up after that night wasn´t easy for Eira. Her whole body hurt and her head also felt heavy. Groggily she made herself ready to go to work. And the following days weren´t any better. She mindlessly walked through the day and was half-heartedly finishing her work. Then she noticed Helen looking at her worriedly so she buried herself into her work.

That´s how the whole week went by. Helen was worried but couldn´t say anything. Everyone else was busy preparing for the test round of the new product in the following week.

Another mail came in this morning:

Dear Eira,

you should really think about my proposal. Marrying me is the best thing you can do. I am a good guy you know? You are walking into a mess you really don´t want to be in. Don´t make things harder as they are already are.

And something like this came every day since she last saw John. She didn´t dare open it and read it but somehow she couldn´t just ignore it. And today a mail like this came again.

She shivered and looked at her screen blankly.

A knock disrupted her thought and before she could even say something Liam opened the door and walked in.

"I have here a report you have to look through before Monday. There are some things I need your advice." He walked to her desk not really noticing her blank look. His gaze was fixed on the documents in his hands. When he didn´t hear a response he looked up. Surprised he stopped in his track.

"Are you okay?" He waved his hand in front of her. "Hello? Someone there?"

"Ehem... yeah what is it?" Eira blinked.

"I have the report here. Can you look through it please?" Liam repeated his question once again.

"Yeah sure. Give them to me." She stretched out her hand and took the papers from him. She started to read them but noticed that Liam didn´t budge.

"Is there something else?" She asked.

"You don´t look that good. Helen told me that you were at the hospital a couple of days ago. Maybe you should rest more." He said concerned.

"No, I don´t need that. Not now. We have a lot to do. I want to start the cooking-school this month." She waved him off.

"Miss Morgan. I am here to lift your burden so let me help you." Liam stated.

Eira smiled at him lightly. Thinking deeply she finally spoke up.

"You have a master in IT right?"

"Yes."

"Okay. I want to trace back an email I received and tell me where it comes from."

Liam looked at her surprised.

"An email?"

Eira didn´t explain but turned her screen around to show it to him.

"I want you to find out the exact location where it came from. No questions asked and don´t tell this to anyone. Can you do that?"

Liam looked at the mail closely and nodded.

"Sure. That´s easy. Give me your computer for... let´s say one hour." He said confidently.

"Ok. You can have it. I´ll continue working over there." She pointed at the lounge and took the report he had given her with her. Liam said down at her desk and started working.

But he didn´t stay like that for long. He soon sprang up and ran out of the door.

Eira looked after him in wonder. She shrugged and continued working. Helen who worked outside also wondered what Liam had in mind to make him run like that.

After a short while, he returned with his laptop in his arm. He connected his laptop to Eira´s computer and continued typing furiously on his laptop. The confident grin never left his face.

While Liam and Eira were still working George decided to give Eira a short visit since he had his lunch break. When he arrived at the top floor he saw that Helen wasn´t at her desk so he walked straight to Eira´s office. The door wasn´t closed so he didn´t bother knocking but peek inside.

To his surprise not Eira was sitting at her desk but someone else. He looked closer to see Liam in his disheveled self sitting before his laptop typing something while grinning like a maniac. He let his gaze wander around the room and saw Eira sitting in the lounge reading some documents.

He cleared his throat and opened the door wide open to let them know of his presence.

Eira looked up and greeted him briefly.

"Hi. Do you need anything?"

"Actually I just wanted to have a chat with you. Didn´t know you were busy." He answered while looking at Liam again.

"It´s okay. I am almost done anyway. Have a seat." She gestured to the seat beside her. He walked to her and sat down.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"I am all fine now. Thank you."

George nodded. "Good."

A loud yell startled both of them.

"YES!" Liam shouted excitedly. "Gotcha. No one can hide before me. HAHAHA" He laughed.

Eira looked at him and laughed.

"Are you done already?"

"Of course I am. Don´t underestimate me. I am THE BEST after all." He grinned happily.

Eira walked closer to him.

"Let me see. Is that the address?" She pointed at the address at his laptop screen.

"Yes, that´s the one. Do you need me for something else? I can even find you everything about the person who wrote this if you want. There is nothing I can´t find out." He asked excitedly.

Eira thought for a while contemplating if she should take his offer.

"You know what. It´s best to know as much as you can. Find out everything about him. I want his darkest secrets. Especially the ones concerning me. Got it?"

"Alright boss." Liam laughed and held up his hand for a high five.

Eira happily obliged and gave him a high five.

George was observing the whole situation and a weird feeling was spreading inside him seeing that scene unfold in front of him.

"What are you guys talking about?" He raised his voice to remind them that he was still there.

Both Eira and Liam looked at them and Liam carefully looked at Eira. She noticed his look and also gazed back. She then turned back to George.

"It´s nothing. I just asked Liam to do something for me. It´s nothing important." She shrugged it off.

George squinted his eyes not really believing her.

"Are you sure? Maybe I can help too?"

Eira remembered the day where George had saved her from John´s kidnapping and how he had almost beaten John to death.

"Yeah, it´s nothing." She tried to smile.

George didn´t pester any more than that.

"So did you guys already eat something?" Eira asked changing the subject.

"Actually no. I am starving." Liam answered.

George also shook his head.

"Good. Then follow me. I´ll treat you guys." She smiled genuinely.
