The storm stopped. The fire died. Yves wondered.
He opened his eyes again and saw Alterain holding his necklace and other accessories.
"You said you would help me bathe," he placed the pieces of jewelry down above the table and took his hand. His eyes were now clear and restrained, as though the short burst of his thirst was now satisfied and relieved.
Alterain quickly walked away from Yves and opened the door to the bathroom. Without turning his whole body, he looked back, sporting a playful grin on his face, with his eyebrow raised at him, "Do you even know how to draw a bath?"
He chuckled, and then he went inside.
Yves was left alone looking dumbfounded. 'What happened?' He asked himself. Just when he was starting to feel good, Alterain stopped.
He felt betrayed. Dismayed. Yet all he could do was sigh and keep the pang he felt in his chest to himself.
