Chapter 13: Task; Kill Baphomet

Raiz has started moving towards the guards, wanting to gather their spirits to fight the monster together. He knows it will not be held back by the boy alone. What surprised him most though, was the masked person who wasn't fazed at all and continued killing the cultists with apparent ease. He was either too brave or a lunatic. But that's what they needed to be right now maybe.

Anabelle who had pissed herself at the sight of the monster was really glad that no one could see her right now.l in her invisible state. She had shirked off her fear when she saw Fin fighting the monster. She stood up from the puddle which had formed, her face still flushed. Her attention was caught by her status screen, the quest seemed to have changed while they didn't notice.

[Quest:(Epic): Baphomet's Descent

Description: Baphomet has already descended although not completely. The ritual has been completed.

Task: Kill Baphomet.

Rewards: Level increased by 5, Epic items x3

Failure: Killed by Baphomet.]

This was the quest log she could see right now. The task had changed from interrupting the descent of Baphomet to kill Baphomet.

She looked towards Baphomet who was about to throw his spear at Fin. She, disregarding everything, ran towards Fin. The spear too whistled through the air towards Fin.

Fin was out of it as the kick hit him hard and he couldn't do anything. His lungs had been emptied of air and his consciousness had become hazy. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw the sight of the spear piercing Anabelle's shoulder.

"Ana...." He muttered, still confused about the situation. His eyes soon widen in comprehension. Anabelle has been pierced by the spear and she's bleeding, driven out of her invisibility due to the wound.

Baphomet looks at the spear being intercepted by a naked blond female that appeared out of nowhere. He charges towards the woman, no longer interested in the man. He simply wants to satiate his lust now. His instincts kick in.

Fin, looking past Anabelle's shoulder, see's the monster charging at them. His eyes narrow and he gets out of the way while hugging Anabelle. Being careful not to agitate her wound.

Baphomet's horns crash into the wall and some cracks form in the wall. Fin moves away carrying the wounded Anabelle and tries to get her to safety. Anabelle in his arms is still making a pained face, she took a blow to the shoulder, and the spear is still stuck in it.

Raiz who has managed to gather the guards with him, rushes towards Baphomet. Buying time for Fin to get back.

"Hoo..haaaa...ha" shouts can be heard from the guards charging at Baphomet. They are trying to keep up their spirits with their loud shouts trying to shirk the fear they are feeling.

While Raiz drinks the berserker potion and his eyes turm red, while his old decrepit frame, bulges and veins pop up from the muscles that keep expanding.

His eyes have turned red, only having Baphomet in their sights, his target. Baphomet snorts, not amused by the ants trying to get in the way of his fun.

Oooooooooo

Another shout and he moves in and starts punching the chests of the guards. Their armours crack and indent into their chests. Five guards die just like that.

Raiz swings a sword he picked up from the dead guard. A gash appears on the back of Baphomet and blood flows. But it soon regenerates visibly. Baphomet turns to punch Raiz in the head. Raiz almost matches him in strength and slowly begins to surpass him.

Raiz's lifeforce keeps burning and turning into his strength and his stats keep amplifying like crazy. Even Baphomet is overwhelmed for a moment. Wounds appear on baphomet as Raiz keeps swinging the sword while Baphomet's passive skill kicks in.

Overwhelming Might activates and Baphomet's strength stat gets adjusted to match Raiz. But still raiz has higher speed and agility, he keeps dodging Baphomet while making deep gashes in his skin.

Baphomet is visibly annoyed as the guards left behind are also slashing at him hindering his assualt against Raiz. His wounds keep getting deeper and blood keeps flowing down.

Realizing that he'll be in trouble if this goes on, Baphomet forms a pinkish flame on his fist and punches the guards one by one, the guards can't dodge and all of them are burned up in the flames. The flame is Baphomet's unique skill only unique to him. The flame of lust. It is an authority granted to Baphomet due to his unparalleled lust.

Although even this is a watered down version due to him possessing the guard captain who is only level 15. If he personally descends it would be a different situation altogether.

The flames burn to cinders any one that has lust and it can control those with lust. It can also induce lust in anyone or anything. It is the ultimate skill Baphomet possesses. Whether to control his minions or to burn away his enemies.

Raiz, who has drunk the berserker potion, is almost at the end of his life. But it is also at this time that his life force burns the brightest. The last bit of his strength channeled into his sword. He keeps his distance from those flames as he doesn't posses enough aura to defend himself nor does he need to anymore. He throws the sword coated with the last bit of his aura and lifeforce at Baphomet.

The sword slices off Baphomet's right leg. Seeing this Raiz smiles and falls to the ground, dead.

Ooooooooo

Baphomet roars, although he doesn't feel pain. His mobility has been greatly affected and he can hardly balance himself on one leg.

Fin rushes back after leaving the wounded Anabelle to safety and covering her with his shirt. He is now shirtless, his well defined muscles visible. But as he sees the scene of the guards dead, embers of wrath burn in his eyes. Raiz is also lying on the floor dead. Although he didn't know them for long but he felt responsible seeing them like this. It was a strange feeling, his chest burned with anger. So he rushed towards the monster that was standing on one leg, while covered in wounds.

Ron watching this, gets ready to make his move. He can't let others get the kill as he needs the exp and the rewards.

Baphomet is no longer willing to play. This time he only wants to kill. His surrounds himself in his flames while waiting for fin to approach. Fin senses the bloodlust and killing intent and his battle state is triggered.

His eyes turn emotionless and his mind becomes clear. He feels no emotions except for getting rid of the threat. Like a programmed machine, he moves in fast, covering himself in aura to keep the flames from touching him. His spear that he removed from Annabelle's shoulder, is covered in the red hue of aura, while his muscles also glisten red, clearly reinforced with aura.

His stance is different from before as he moves with a certain footwork technique.

"Mirage steps??" Ron mutters while looking at Fin performing those actions. On the status screen Ron sees right now Fin's name has changed to ????????. It really is a peculiar phenomenon.

Fin performs mirage steps and is infront of the monster in the blink of an eye. Baphomet didn't even register fin being there nor could he respond due to the nature of mirage steps. It is a footwork technique that messes with the cognition of the enemy. And provides a burst of speed to get close to them in an instant.

Fins spear pierces Baphomet's abdomen. While an intense aura burns at the tip, burning away his innards and causing Baphomet to disregard the injury. Baphomet grabs the spear and Hits fin in the face. Fin punched in the face isn't fazed and continues to dodge more of the blows.

The monster has quite the tenacity, not dying even after so long. Such wounds would've killed any human by now.

Baphomet manages to catch a flaw in Fin's movement and lands a solid hit, which leaves Fin defenseless. So he continues to barrage him with his fists.

Fin's skill activates, granting him defense while also his regenrative skill to heal his lost hp.

Ron has stealthily moved behind Baphomet who is completely focused on Fin. He forms a strong flame almost using all of his mana, and hides the mana signature. To not alert the monster.

Flame spell: Flame Canon.

A loud boom is heard behind Baphomet, but he is too late to react. A flame ball huge as his head is shooting towards it with unimaginable speed. The goat head is burned to cinders and Baphomet falls to the ground.

Ron didn't seem happy at all despite gaining 5 more levels. Although he was now level 11 and had gained 25 more stat points, he had a frown on his face.

It wasn't an announcement about Baphomet's death, only the guard Captain's. That's what alarmed Ron.
