Him and Her

"Oh thank you Mr. Pierce for this treat!" Brian shouted because we were eating their best-selling items. We tried and tested everything till our stomachs were full.

"No problem. It's really important for the part-timers to taste our best product here so that they can give some advice to our customers to help them to choose" Mr. Pierce explained then smiled at us. Brian giggled then grabs her drink. Then Martha walked past us.

"Hey, Martha join us" offered Brian. Martha stops and looks at us.

"I wish I could but I still have a job, maybe next time," she replied and she was going to walk heading to the customer when she stops and looks back at Mr. Pierce.

"By the way Mr. Pierce, the boss is calling you right now" she added and continue walking heading to the customer. He stood up then looked at us.

"So, see you guys on Monday?"

"Sure, of course!"Brian replied with a smile.

"Okay then, bye! Bye Sapphire" he said then leave. He's very pleasant, and he's so young to be a manager. We're about the same age, I suppose, but he's already quite successful.

"Let's go then Ire?"

"Sure Brian"I replied then we both stand up leaving these plates empty and head out...

We are now outside the Cafe. We decided to go to the grocery store to buy something. We talk along the way and when we are now in front of the grocery store, we step inside and Brian grabs a basket.

"Ire, by the way. Have you ever noticed how Mr. Pierce is always staring at you? I suppose he's interested in you since he can't take his gaze away from you." she said while choosing between Cheetos or Lays sour cream flavor, while me rummaging in cup noodles in front of the chips.

"I don't know...." I replied without looking at her.

"Or, maybe he's just friendly" she added. And finally, she made her decision to buy them both.

"Are you going to buy something?" she asked. I shook my head, then we came to the poultry section. She picks some, 2 whole chicken and 3 packs of Pork barbeque ready to cook.

"That's a lot, Brian"

"Hehe, we are running out of food in our house" she replied then we head to the cashier. The cashier woman punches the product inside the basket then Brian paid it. We finally went outside the grocery store after buying those products.

"Phew, it's really hot this day, or maybe I drank too much coffee?" asked Brian then wipes her sweat in her forehead.

"I think both"I replied. Then Brian informed me she was going to pee inside the grocery shop, so she handed me the items she had purchased and dashed inside. Why didn't she go there while we were still inside?

Out of the blue there's someone tapped my shoulder I looked at my back, a tall man wearing a white shirt and black pajamas and simple slippers, I thought he's a bummer, then I face him.

"Wazzup?"

Nope, I was just joking lately. He's not a bum...

"What are you doing here, Zire?" I ask.

"Nothing just walking around" He answered and returned his attention to the road. I can see he's depressed, but why?

"Is there any problem?"I ask. He closed his eyes for a sec before answering my question.

"Nothing just remembered something"

"Okay," I replied.

I just remembered I'm wearing the simple blue shirt that Dad bought for me last month and faded blue jeans and white shoes wearing my white sling bag. Because I have nothing to do I turned my eyes on the highway.

"Hey, can you join me—?"

"She's not coming with you" we both look to where's that voice had come from and saw Brian crossed her arms and glared at Zire.

When Zire is trying to say something, he stopped when Brian walks immediately towards him, while pointing at him.

"You bastard!" she yelled, every step she makes is every step Zire goes backward.

"Wha—?"

"You idiot! You made us paid that expensive food you ordered yesterday! You said it's your treat but it turns out you walk away with your..." she then suddenly stopped walking and hold her both hands together.

"With your beautiful and kind sister," she added. She has wished for a younger sister since she was a youngster, but it is impossible for her to get one. I snatched Brian's arm and drew her closer to me so Zire wouldn't take any steps backward, and I know that made him uneasy...

"Tss! Yeah, but sometimes not" he mumbles.

"But still you need to pay us," said Brian.

"No, no it's okay," I said and talked to Brian. We turned back so that Zire won't hear us.

"Brian it's okay, it's already been done"I whispered to her.

"But Ire—"

"I can't pay you, but I can treat you today," said Zire, and we both look back at him. Then Brian glared at him.

"Yah, and left us again," added Brian and rolled her eyes while crossing her arms.

"Monkey, I don't have any money but I have my credit card. But first I shall buy my sister something inside the grocery store" he said and steps inside.

"Geez, whatever. Come on Ire let's leave him"

"Wait, I think we should follow him"

"What? Why?" asked Brian confused.

"I think he needs someone to talk to or to hang out with because I think there's something wrong about him" I replied without looking at her and I just looked at the entrance door of the grocery store. She sighed and agreed then hold my hand and together we entered the grocery store.

"Okay, where is he?" mumble Brian then we looked everywhere then finally we found him. As we approached him, Brian planned to surprise Zire from behind. We are the ones that are surprised when we sneak inside his rear. We noticed him digging through some napkins.

"The hell Zire! Do you have a menstruation today?" said Brian, because of this Zire get surprised too and I think he jumped a little bit then looked at us and hid his one pack of the napkin on his back.

"Hiding something? Even though we already saw it?" teased Brian. I just kept silent. He looks embarrassed and can't even look in our eyes.

"It's okay Zire. Don't mind Brian" I said. Brian made a silent laugh.

"Tss" said Zire who looks irritated while looking away. Out of guard, Brian immediately took Zire's napkin from his back.

"Sisters? I used Whisper.." she said while waving the napkin. Zire instantly snatches it from Brian's hand.

"Geez, whatever.." remarked Zire, who is now completely enraged. Brian chuckles, and I simply stare at her before following him as he walks away from us. Zire is now at the cashier, paying for his napkin, but Brian has taken some Cranberry and placed it on the counter.

"Pay this for me–"

"Pay that by yourself," said Zire coldly. The cashier woman who's punching the napkin immediately stops ad look at Zire then at Brian but after a sec she continues her job. Brian pout and put away her chocolate.

"I'll pay it for you, Brian" I offered, Brian giggled.

"Nah, it's okay, Ire. I'm just joking" she laughed. We are now outside the grocery store. And I notice Zire is fine now and more calmly than earlier and he's calling someone through his phone.

"My gosh I'm hungry," said Brian while holding her stomach. She also took the paper bags we left at the baggage counter lately. But still, she's hungry even though we already ate earlier.

"We just ate lately, Brian"

"Yeah, but my metabolism is working so fast" she replied.

"Hey!" we both look at Zire who called us. He's facing us while putting his phone in his pocket

"Follow me. Let's grab some food," he said and start walking. I saw Brian became happy and energetic, then we followed him.
