Chapter 51 - Discussions and Agreement

[May of 2012]

[The Pentagon]

3rd PoV

All the high ranking officials within the renowned Pentagon were currently in discussion regarding the just-ended Live Stream of the mutant known as Psionix.

After a few minutes that the stream aired, the pentagon immediately called for a meeting among the high-ranking officials but the president of the united states didn't come, saying that they should handle these for now and should report to him immediately after they finished.

A Few Moments Later

Their discussion were turning hot as it eventually arrived on the topic regarding Psionix, his identity and most importantly, his power.

"Did you all see what he did to that large alien called Leviathan in the recent invasion? He literally squeezed it until it exploded. So folks, we shouldn't take him lightly as his power ranks him to the same level of that of the Hulk, Thor and that Magneto." A high ranking official explaines as he looked at the others.

"And that is why we should do something about him lest he turns even more dangerous!" Another official that is secretly an anti-mutant responded with a raised voice.

Their discussion continued for a while as their opinions was mixed but with most of them having a bit of an intact brain as they suggested that they shouldn't act immediately as they still don't know the extent of the mentioned mutant.

But the discussion became even more heated as they come about the news that Magneto and his little Brotherhood was attacking the Trask Building.

""Look at how bold this mutants are becoming!"" The side of the anti-mutants quickly shouted in anger.

Gideon Malick, who's not only one of the highest ranking member but also is one of the leaders of the World Security Council, pulled up his phone and quickly dialed a number.

"Fury!–"

Hut he was interrupted by the one-eyed agent as the latter spoke with calmness "We're already about to arrive at the location of the Trask Building to put a stop to Magneto's madness."

"That is not what I'm about to say you idiot! I want you to go that place and secure ourselves a set of that advanced robots and if that's not available, then arrest that man named Bolivar Trask as we can just use him to create more of his products." Gideon Malick responded.

"... Yes, sir." Fury took his time to answer and then replied.

Gideon didn't say anything more as he put down the phone.

Colonel Thaddeus Ross – who also sat along the circle that made up the high-ranking members – surprising didn't voiced out any opinions as he rubbed his chin with his hand.

On another place, Alexander Pierce also called Fury and ordered the same thing as Fury just accepted without complaints.

As Fury arrived at the place and saw Magneto shaking the whole building up, he hesitated for a bit as he remembered the last time he encountered the guy as that day, he went back with his agents all groaning in pain as they all spent a few months hospitalized.

But he steeled through and decided to risk it. And as he finally said what he wanted, which was arresting Trask, of course he didn't mentioned anything about his plan of securing a sentinel as Magneto will definitely snap at him and possibly kill him.

But the chance of him and the council's plan of getting one of those robots for them got even more dim as the mutant known as Psionix – who said that he will not come along to Trask Industries – arrived and calmed Magneto.

Fury then settled for the second plan which was getting Trask as he then acted all cozy and chill with them until they all – along with a newly arrived guy – went inside the building to find a girl that Trask supposedly kidnapped.

But half an hour later, Fury and Coulson, who was still waiting outside the Building, was confused as the group all came out of building with a different atmosphere on them.

Fury and Coulson's agent sense sniffed something different as they can definitely tell and see that the ever-scowling Magneto seems to be in a good mood along with his Brotherhood of Mutants as they walked behind Psionix.

A Few Minutes Earlier

Andrew looked at Magneto and his group while also side eyeing Vanessa and Wade along with Mystique. Their answers is already visible in his eyes as he can feel their desire at what he just explained to them.

But as a way of solidifying the answer, Andrew subtly inputted a few ideas and suggestions within Magneto's mind that will let him become more open to the concept of ally and this would also lessen his pride and make him accept that he will bow have a boss.

Andrew slightly smiled as the next words of Magneto sealed the fate of the Brotherhood of Mutants.

"I, no, we.. accept." Erik eventually said with a slight smile on his serious face while Toad, Blob, Avalanche and Juggernaut just nodded slightly in agreement.

Andrew smirked but it obviously wasn't noticed since he doesn't have a face as he stepped forward and stretched out a hand. "To the future."

Magneto didn't hesitate and also stretched a hand and shook hands with Andrew while saying "To the future."

But his face suddenly contorted a bit as he felt great pain coursing through him but he didn't let out a voice, showing just how strong is his will. "W-what are you doing?!"

Mystique quickly moved from beside Vanessa and tried striking Andrew on the head with a kick but she found herself stopping just before her foot can hit his head as she stood there awkwardly.

Dominikos Petrakis aka Avalanche tried to crouch down and use his seismokinesis on it to throw Andrew off balance but the latter didn't even looked at him as he stopped along with Toad and Blob who also was about to attack.

Then the Juggernaut moved but Andrew didn't want to restrain him using a casual use of telekinesis as he formed a cube-shaped force-field around the avatar of cyttorak.

BAM!

Juggernaut immediately punched the force-field but it didn't quickly budge, showing just how strong the cube was.

"Don't worry, guys, I'm just making your leader more stronger and healthier." Andrew said as he let go of Magneto's hand.

Erik almost fell to his knees but he held on as he breathed heavily with a few beads of sweat running down his forehead.

Juggernaut tried punching the force-field again but Andrew dispersed it, making the former stumble for a bit because of the inertia.

Cain Marko lifted his head to look at Andrew angrily as he prepared to attack again but Erik suddenly stopped him by raising a hand at him in a signal.

Erik clenched as he curiously looked at his hand while his head turned to Andrew as he said "I feel.. stronger?"

"Yep, just a little welcoming gift. Now let's go." Andrew simply said while Wade and Vanessa carefully stepped forward and settled just behind him again.

Through all what just happened, Wade was quick to act as he immediately went and made himself and Vanessa safe by distancing from what he assumed as a start of a great battle.

Juggernaut eventually stopped as he wasn't that dumb as he realized that Andrew wasn't really picking a fight. Toad, Blob and Avalanche also calmed down as they felt their bodies being able to move again.

The awkward Mystique slowly brought down her foot as she just sighed.

Magneto continued clenching his hands repeatedly as he cannot believe the amount of natural physical strength that he can currently feel. Though he can increase his strength by augmenting using his powers, it still wasn't enough as that also has a downside of making him sore all over.

Andrew didn't talk anymore started walking along with Wade and Vanessa as Erik eventually followed along with his Brotherhood.

The X-Men manually made their way home as they didn't have their X-Jet and their instant taxi was also missing which was the main problem that they are thinking right now.

They all eventually arrived to the X-Mansion as Alex turned to Xavier and asked "Shouldn't we in where that Trask Industries are located right now, since we all know that that Magneto was going to attack it?"

"I'm pretty sure that that mutant called Psionix will stop him and his Brotherhood so we don't have to concern ourselves about it for now, but our main problem is where is Kurt."

"Wait, what happened to Kurt? We saw in the live that he didn't appear anymore after he saved a bunch of soldiers and reporters. Where did he go?" Kate Pryde asked, beginning to get worried.

The rest of the New Mutants, Scott, Bobby, Sean and Angel also looked at the X-Men with worry in their eyes as it also conveys their question which was the same as Kitty.

Storm, Colossus, Alex, Hank, Logan also turned to Xavier as they know that he's the only one right now that can find where Kurt is.

"I-I also don't know.. I can't find his mental signatures even after I already stretched my senses to the maximum. Maybe we need to use the Cerebro." Xavier nodded seriously at his last sentence as his wheelchair turned around and began rolling forward.

The X-Men looked at each other and they saw the worry in their eyes as they followed the bald from behind. The younger mutants like Scott and Bobby also tried to follow along but as always, they were asked to stay and just wait for the news.
