My Rosie...
Since when did that name become mine?
"I will only marry and age with you."
Like the wind that blows against the skin bringing a million coolness and then disappears. The promise evaporated like a bubble of dew in the morning.
"I can't keep it, I'm sorry."
Neither William nor Rose could only sigh heavily in their respective places.
William has been dressed neatly, currently, he is looking for Mark while Rose is still not finished making up.
Some of her replacement clothes were arranging her dress which turned out to be a little too big so Rose had to change her dress to a more fitting dress but the dress she was wearing now was too revealing at the back.
A dress that is shaped like an hourglass with long sleeves and Sabrina's shoulders but the back is open with no straps at all.
A very beautiful dress, simple but elegant lace patterned with Swarovski crystal beads.
Rose's long hair has been styled with a little bun and a net cover and a hair tie made of pink pearls that have a soft shimmer, Rose can be grateful that her hair is long enough to cover her exposed back while her makeup is perfect, Rose feels her current look is the best view.
Everything was perfect except she couldn't draw her smile because she couldn't smile, her heart was filled with sadness and pain but even so Rose couldn't cry, it seems like two days ago she cried too much so that her tears dried up and couldn't drip even though her feelings were raging.
"Very beautiful."
Rose turned towards the voice, Jane was standing in the doorway smiling warmly at her. "May I come in?" Jane asked.
"Of course," Rose replied politely.
Rose's maids and make-up and fashion then immediately left Rose and Jane alone.
"My daughter-in-law is very beautiful, that's why my William hasn't stopped smiling ever since?" Praise Jane while looking at Rose's face from the mirror's reflection, Jane didn't even hesitate to correct the position of the net stuck behind Rose's hair.
Rose didn't know what to say but just smiled, she couldn't be cold to Jane who was so warm to her.
"William ... he likes to hide his sadness, he rarely smiles because he is happy, his smile is mostly to cover the wounds in his heart," Jane told the story.
Wound? The man who seems heartless has a wound?
"Whatever happens, I'm not asking you to understand him because he's confusing, but I'm just asking that you don't hate him so much." Rose was so shocked to hear Jane's words, was her hatred for William so obvious?
Jane then touched Rose's hands and ran her thumbs on the back of Rose's hands warmly while looking at her expectantly and said softly, "My William has endured a lot of pain because he always prioritizes the happiness of others over his own, please don't add to the hurt in your heart. He is very precious." Jane pleaded, unable to hold back her tears.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pressure you into loving William. Whatever your feelings for him I won't be mad at you, but please don't hate my William." Jane continued.
"I..." Rose couldn't answer, she couldn't promise to hate William because that's how she felt.
William ruined her happiness so how could she not hate William?
Her heart is not that good...
Jane took a deep breath before wiping her tears, she then placed a jewelry box on the dressing table and opened it.
"This is the necklace my mother gave me when I married William's father." As if it didn't matter if Rose didn't accept her request, Jane was still gentle with her even as she handed him a diamond-studded necklace with a rose-shaped pendant and a red Ruby gem in the center.
"Like your name, Rose. Very beautiful and graceful." Jane said, she smiled as she opened the necklace with the initials R given by Rayhan which was attached to Rose's neck, and then put on the necklace she gave her.
"You look like a queen." Praise Jane.
Rose admits that the necklace worn by Jane adds to the beauty that radiates within her.
It's beautiful and of course, the price is fantastic especially since this necklace has been around for a long time and Rose was very touched.
"William sure can't blink when he sees you," Jane said she was very smiley in every sentence she said Jane always smiled and her tone was very soft and graceful like a noble family.
"I don't promise to love William but I will try not to hate him." Said Rose who felt a little guilty to Jane who had been very good to her if she persisted in continuing to hate William.
"Thank you very much, my dear..." Jane said smiling as she hugged Rose warmly.
"But if William doesn't bother me sometimes he's too annoying." Rose continued, who sounded grumbling but instead made Jane laugh.
"William is annoying, tell me whenever William bothers you, mom will scold him."
"Mom?"
"You want to call me mommy?"
"William and Mark call me mom, that's a nickname Jackson taught me."
Oh, no wonder William doesn't have blue eyes like Jane, he sure looks like his father, whom Rose hasn't met.
"You're going to be William's wife, which means you're going to be my daughter too so treat me like your own mother. I've been wanting to have a daughter for a long time and William is finally getting married and his wife is, of course, my daughter too."
Even her mother had never been as warm as what Jane had done to her.
Rose became very moved and hugged Jane once more.
"Mom..." she called shyly.
"Oh, my dear daughter."
.....
The wedding ceremony is about to start but William is still busy looking for Mark and finally, he finds Mark who is busy playing in the sea accompanied by two bodyguards.
"You don't want to see me get married?" William asked approaching.
"The sea is cold, Mark likes it," Mark replied who was still running after the receding waves and then ran away when the waves came back chasing the shoreline.
"Mark, can we talk for a minute?"
Mark immediately approached William while running.
"William wants to talk? Mark will listen, talk Will, Mark listens, Mark listens to William."
William smiled, he then crouched down to unroll Mark's pants and help him put on his shoes.
"Mark can wear Mark's shoes, Mark is not a child." Mark refused when William was about to put his shoes on.
William understood, he didn't push and then noticed how Mark was struggling with his shoes.
He was so skinny in his shoes that he had to sit on the white sand and still had trouble putting on his shoes.
"Speak Will, Mark is listening. Speak, Mark can hear William's voice."
William finally crouched down and helped tie Mark's shoelaces.
"Mark listens to me carefully, promise not to tell Gwen about my wedding today," William said, Mark always told Gwen anything, William was very worried if Mark would tell her about his wedding tonight.
"Why? Why can't you tell Gwen? Why? William can't be mad at Gwen? William can't be mad at Gwen, Gwen will be sad, William can't, can't be mad at Gwen. Mark doesn't like it." Mark asked repeatedly, he panicked because he was afraid that if William was angry with Gwen, he knew that William used to be angry and ignored Gwen, and then Gwen would cry for days.
"No, I'm not mad at Gwen at all. Gwen is sick, she can't attend the wedding. Gwen will be sad if she finds out I got married without telling her." It was clear that William was careful to understand that Mark would make a promise to him.
If Mark has promised then he will keep it, William is sure if Mark will not open his voice he has given him understanding and asked Mark to promise him.
"Gwen can't be sad, Mark doesn't like seeing Gwen sad, no, can't be sad. Gwen has to be happy to get well quickly and then marry Mark."
'Married to Mark', William's heart jolted painfully. Mark is totally in love with Gwen. What will happen if Mark finds out about his love affair with Gwen? Maybe what Jackson told him was true if Mark was going to get hurt.
"So you can promise me to keep this a secret from Gwen?"
Mark nodded without hesitation, "Mark made a promise to William. If you can't break a promise. Mark will keep it like a real man."
William smiled when he heard that Mark finally wanted to promise him even though Mark's words about marriage with Gwen bothered him.
