Chapter 16

BERLIN

Richard jabs the punching bag mercilessly, sweat dripping from his hair and into his eyes.

“There you are!” Cassandra smiles approaching him. He continues punching the bag in precise movements.

“You’re back early” He replies mindlessly. “Something wrong?”

“Why would you assume that?”

“You just have that look.” He finally stops and faces her.

“What look?” she musters a smile while Richard removes his gloves, his knuckles red and raw.

“Like something’s wrong.” He pulls on her hand and places a kiss on top of her head.

“Well….”

“Tell me. If there’s something I can do to help, you know I will, so just tell me.”

“You remember Caroline, right?”

“How could I forget.” he huffs.
