Chapter 118: Things Revealed In The Light Of Day

The Cellar, The Rawsone Residence, Denver, Colorado...

Having no other choice in terms of keeping the attention drawn away from them, Hadrian escorted Bethany down to the cellar by way of the kitchen. He had hardly used it but it was as good a place as any to have a full conversation without prying or interruptions. Bethany had been fighting back tears as she pulled away from the man she never thought she'd ever see again trying to make sense of why a happily married father of her best friend would be picking up drunken college girls like her in clubs and bars. She had even been more than a little upset that he had simply left her with no word or reasoning behind it. She'd been terrified for the past three months after finding out that she was carrying his unborn child and here he was in the flesh and already married with a family.

"Leave me alone," said Bethany as the tears began to stream down her plump cheeks. "I don't have anything to say to you, you're just another heartless cheating bastard Hadrian Rawsone or should I call you Lonnie or what about Daddy you prefer that don't you I remember you liked that most of all while I'm riding your freakish bare cock!"

Hadrian sighed as Bethany suddenly whirled on him hitting him in the face and chest as she sobbed helplessly in the wake of her fury and sorrow. Hadrian allowed it as she ran out of steam and then finally pulled her close to him.

"How could you?" she asked upset as more tears streamed down her cheeks. "How could you betray everyone you love like that, how could you betray me like that you've made me a homewrecker you bastard I'm the homewrecker that's ruining the life of my own best friend!"

Hadrian had nothing to say as he help Bethany while she sobbed against his chest. His drink was long forgotten as she had inadvertently slapped it out of his hands shattering the glass and causing it to spill all over the floor.

"Bethany I...I don't know what to say," he replied finally as his baritone drawl filled her ears. "I had no idea that I even...what I'm trying to say is...I was sick for a long time according to what I've been told from my wife and everyone else...my colleague...well my shrink believed I was suffering from the onset of Dissociative Identity Disorder and that this...Lonnie person took over my life for a time."

Bethany seemed shocked as she looked up at him.

She was familiar with the term and the symptoms of it as well as the long-standing battle such a condition had been for people that struggled to live with it.

"Lonnie was a personality?" she asked unsure if she believed him.

"I'm afraid so," replied Hadrian suddenly looking a bit more tired than he'd been beforehand. "You gotta know that I didn't mean to cause you any harm or your friend Tammy I just wasn't myself and I had no control over my mind or my body."

"Damn that's too bad in a way," said Bethanny with a sad smile. "Whoever Lonnie was he was sure good at sex, even still I believe you have the right to know."

Hadrian looked at the green-eyed blonde girl puzzled as she spoke and took his hand in hers.

"I don't want to come between you and your family, especially not with Sam but I don't know what to do about it anymore and I'm really scared," admitted Bethany looking every bit, the frightened girl he had not expected her to be.

Hadrian's eyes widened when he felt her place his hand against her belly noting the fact that she'd been pregnant but much further along than Julia and Alexi had been.

"Shit," said Hadrian recalling that he had not even considered the possibility despite being horrified about not using a condom when he'd been inside her. "I'm sorry, Bethany...I'm so sorry."

Bethany sighed and continued to lean against him as he held her in his arms and more hot tears streamed down her cheeks.

"It's not your fault," she said softly. "I'm the one that used the fake I.D. to cruise for guys because I was tired of the boys at school."

"I should have at least protected you," said Hadrian rather disgusted with himself for having been so foolish.

"It's okay, Tammy warned me but your big cock felt so good inside me raw that I didn't care, and now look at us," said Bethany remarking at her foolishness in the past.

"Whatever you need from me you have it," said Hadrian meeting her eyes once more with a serious expression on his face. "You can call me any time day or night if you need assistance with the baby, money, anything."

Bethany smiled realizing everything Sam had told her about the kind and loving man that raised her had been true aside from his condition mentally he'd been something of a stand-up man.

She nodded in agreement as she leaned against him not at all expecting him to wrap his arms around her, but he did and held her close to his chest.

Bethany sighed stepping back from him as they collected themselves now that their talk and mutual agreement about the baby had been settled. She was less afraid knowing the kind of man her unborn child's father had been and insisted on them blaming her pregnancy on a random boy that she hooked up with when on break from school. Hadrian had not liked this but he didn't want to come between her and Sam's friendship so he agreed to keep the secret of being Bethany's unborn child's father for her sake but he made it clear that she was to keep him informed of everything including the day and place she'd give birth.

He thought about Tammy for a moment and wondered if he had gotten her pregnant as well, Bethany assured him that he didn't as Tammy had been on the pill to regulate her menstrual cycle and wasn't ovulating as Bethany had been that day. She assured Hadrian that she'd inform Tammy of the truth at least and swear her to secrecy before the baby was born so as not to cause any problems for him and Sam.

The two of them ventured back up to the party as if nothing ever happened although Bethany seemed to be enjoying the festivities a bit more.

Hadrian was greeted by none other than Maureen Wlech when she entered the house pleased to see him doing so well since his recovery. She'd been none too pleased with Julia and her antics to have him carted off to get electroshock therapy from a man Hadrian despised but she was glad he was alive and walking again.

"Reen!" said Hadrian greeting her with a hug.

He had always seen her as his little sister and it showed in how goofy he got whenever he'd been around.

"How are the kids?" asked Hadrian.

"Very well driving their father crazy like children do," she replied.

Hadrian smirked and looked over at his twin daughters and their friends. He had not recognized the girl Jessica brought with them for the break and approached her to get acquainted secretly hoping he had not mistakenly impregnated her as well.

"Hello, ladies enjoying the festivities?" asked Hadrian with an arched brow.

Jessica smiled as she came over to him hugging him in front of her friend.

"Daddy, just the man I wanted to see," she said happily. "I'd like you to meet my friend Lauren Marino."

Hadrian had not recognized the girl but there was something familiar about her, she seemed to share quite a bit of interest with Jessica and they seemed to hit it off more like sisters as opposed to friends. She was blonde like Bethany and had blue eyes this time and dressed quite modestly in jeans and a nice t-shirt splattered with color with a folded red checkered overshirt wrapped around her waist and faded white sneakers on her feet. She wasn't a bad-looking kid and she wasn't so attractive that he took active notice but she was alright by him despite the pink and blue streaks of dyed hair and the artsy way she had of looking at the world. Hadrian was quite content to know his girls were making new friends and had each other to lean on at college with them being so far away from home.

"Jessie tells me you do a bit of drawing now and then," said Lauren with a charming smile. "Pretty interesting coming from a shrink."

"I dabble a bit here and there, mostly as a hoppy for stress purposes," replied Hadrian. "Doesn't mean that I don't know how to appreciate fine art thought."

Hadrian had been in mid-conversation when Julia came up behind him wrapping her arms around his waist.

"There you are," she said happily. "I've been looking all over for you."

"I'm not hard to find," replied Hadrian with a forced smile.

Julia made a show of kissing him in front of not only the girls but of Gary who she had just come from having a rather heated discussion about the possible paternity of her unborn child. He had been of the mind that the baby had been his given how often she'd been in his bed but Julia insisted Hadrian had been the father as she spent a good deal of time sleeping with him even when he'd been under the influence of his alter Lonnie Collins.

"Ewww get a room," said Jessica needling them a bit.

Hadrian smirked as he found himself being led by the hand of his wife toward the stairs.

"Jules we got this party and the girls are here," said Hadrian attempting to make a weak protest.

"They're busy and there's so much noise going on and so many people that they won't even notice were gone," she said leading her husband up toward their shared bedroom. "We'll be back before they know it."

Lauren Marino shook her head as she watched the two of them climb the stairs Jessica rolled her eyes and Bethany tried her best not to recall just how capable her child's father had been in bed. She had been lying if she had said she didn't envy Mrs. Rawsone at that moment. Sam had been busy talking with her grandparents and meeting with Colin Winters formerly Collin Rawsone for the first time.
