Space

From all the damage that Will sustained, it took him a week to wake up with the aid of magical medicine.

Since he was a rejected, he couldn't rely on the world's power to heal himself, so although someone else would have been healed that same day with the medicine he took.

It still took him a week, the wounds weren't anything to laugh at though.

Luckily the blood loss he could've suffered was reduced drastically when he fell unconscious because of the side effect of using his ability without a main ingredient.

It's just, he still wasn't completely recovered.

When he tried to move after waking up, he was assaulted by waves of pain, and a couple crackling noises could be heard from his body, followed by even stronger pain.

Some of his bones still hadn't reconnected.

This pain caused him to let out a loud groan.

Nearly a five minute walk from where Will was, Elizabeth and the elderly man were watching their grandson splash around a little stream.

"He's up"

The elderly man looked at Elizabeth as he started to walk in Will's direction.

Shaking her head, she watched the stream flowing through the forest, and stared at the ripples caused by her grandson splashing in the stream.

"He's fine, his bones will reconnect soon, anyways, that medicine will knock him back out shortly"

Looking at her, he smiled.

"I guess there's no point in going over right now then?"

The elderly man walked back as he laughed, Elizabeth nodded her head to confirm what he said was true.

They were nearing the outskirts of the forest, about a week or more of travel from the city they are headed to.

They are going to leave Will in the outskirts of the forest, because the city is filled with practitioners.

It would only take them half a second to find out that Will is a rejected, which wouldn't be a good thing, but they will still help Will as much as they can.

Both of them sighed as they watched their grandson play.

The only way Will can avoid being found out is if he were to avoid people sensitive to energy and practitioners.

Unfortunately for Will, in this world, at least ninety percent of everyone he runs into will be able to find out he's a rejected.

If he can display his strength, he can scare people away and gain some time, but sadly at this moment, besides the ability he currently has, he has no strength to display.

So if he is found out, even commoners would swarm him.

As Will passed back out, the system streamed information into his mind.

-Host, the system has generated a mental space you can use to test (simulate) your ability usage.

(AN: Don't expect much dialogue with the system, it's basically a computer that is on text to speech, with the added bonus of a database reliant AI, so it can't do anything if it doesn't have info in its database)

Will fell unconscious again, but as soon as he fell into the depths of his mind, he felt the sensation of landing on solid ground.

Opening his eyes he was stunned, after a couple seconds, he stood up when he realized there was no pain, then he got excited.

-This is your mind host, this is your mental image, you will have no injuries.

As if the system knew his thoughts it had to wake him up from his excitement.

Will looked around as his eyes glittered, he was standing on a dark void with the occasional twinkling star in the distance.

"Awesome!"

He thought about walking to find his mental space's limits, but he decided to get to training his ability.

As he was going to focus on training his ability, he noticed a wall of information behind him in the space.

.*I have generated this information for host to use, in this space the mind is your limit, if you can imagine it you can do it. Your ability which has fixed requirements, will still function by the same rules here. You will pass out here like you do in reality when you make a potion without a main ingredient. Use this space to train your mental strength, you have plenty of time considering the wounds you have at the moment.

Looking around, Will sighed, "This is good I guess, hopefully I can get myself to where I can make two potions without a main ingredient and not pass out"

So at this moment, Will started a long period of training.

It is I, the author!

This chapter is a little rushed, sorry about that.

How will Will improve with the help of the very handy mental space?

Feedback helps!
