"You're suffering from the lack of a worthy opponent..." Megumi says diplomatically "Now you see what I was complaining about, huh? "Welcome to the realm of the strong, Maki." He says with a smile, knowing how these words can impact her "Once you asked how I would grade you... I said 3, but now based on your moves... But he throws his body back to dodge while kicking her in the stomach. Maki saw that coming and blocked his foot with a forearm.

Then they started dancing. It's almost a turn-based fight, where one allows the other to attack before defending or evading. They exchange dozens of attacks, spinning around each other, forearms crashing, leg swipes being dodged and palm strikes being slapped away.

'By stats alone, she is stronger than me...' Megumi thinks in amazement. Happy that it's like that.

In the end, the templates that give his overpowered physical body are only in the Tier 5, one Tier lower than the actual Maki. If we go by percentage, knowing that the gap between higher tiers is much bigger than in the lower tiers...

Megumi has barely 20% of his templates strength.

To put things in perspective, one only needs to remember that Blackbeard is in the same tier as Gojo, but right now Megumi can only draw a power comparable with the students like Nobara, Megumi, and Yuji in the beginning of Canon.

"That's the end..." He says and grabs her leg in an iron grip and with it he swings her on the ground like a ragdoll.

One, two, three times...

When he feels that Maki is disoriented enough, he lets go of her leg, and *Boom* he delivers a merciless punch in her guts.

"Gah!" She spits saliva and a little blood, a crater forming around her body. Her eyes went white for a second.

After the shocking attack that made the tunnel tremble, silence falls in the place. Megumi calmly stands up, his Fighting spirit gone because the fight has ended.

"..." Maki is absentmindedly looking at the ceiling, the attack reverberates through her body and her limbs are refusing to listen to her for now "So that's what that trash felt when it fought you..."

"I hit a black flash on him, so it was even stronger..." And he was wearing the Divine Dogs using Totality too.

It was not a surprise the fight ended there, even Maki was only recovering the feeling of her body after some time.

"And that last kick hurt, you know?" He cracks his neck in discomfort "You're only allowed to break my pelvis, not my neck."

She rolls her eyes "Is it a problem that I'm getting used to your antics?"

"Nah." Megumi makes a handsign and summons Round Deer to heal her. He still can't use Reverse Cursed Energy on others.

"You guys..." Mai approaches them with a helpless sigh

But Megumi and Maki are happy with the battle. Her for getting stronger and him for the great training partner he just gained.

His growth in Haki during those last months can be credited mostly to Maki, now the ceiling just gets higher. He is confident that practicing with her will allow him to reach the Advanced Level in both Armament and Observation.

Later on the same day during the afternoon, Megumi went to meet Gojo.

"There's something that I want to talk about with you." Megumi starts while meeting Gojo in a park.

"There isn't something that you want to say to me?' Gojo puts her hands on her hips in challenge

"Isn't that what I just said? Look, Maki and Mai-"

"About me!" She interrupts, impatient. Even her foot is tapping the ground.

"..."

"..."

"Ah yes, your birthday." Megumi hits the palm of his hand with a fist in realization "Here."

Then he gives her a card. It's not even a fancy card, it's simply a white plain card with the words written lazily by him

'Happy B-day, Grats. Xd.'

"..." Gojo stares at the card for a long moment.

"..." Megumi fights hard to keep an impassive face. Holding back a laugh.

Suddenly, the teenager feels himself on the ground. Gojo sits on his back and pulls his legs, making his body contort an unnatural "C" shape.

"Argg! My coccyx! My back! It's gonna break! I'm serious! It's cracking!!!" He taps the ground in surrender

"What do you have to say?" Gojo asks in a dangerous calm voice

"I'm sorry! Happy birthday! I wish you a long, healthy, and happy life! Thank you for being born, you're a gift to the world yada yada yada!"

"Hmpf! It's good that you know." Gojo releases him with a huff "And my gift?"

Megumi snorts "What gift? Do you even need anything?"

"It's the thought that counts."

"And I thought that you don't need anything. Isn't this the greatest gift? The greatest praise that someone can receive?"

"..." Gojo starts walking at him

"Okay, Okay!" Megumi puts his guard up "Let's go eat some dessert, I'll pay. I know you like sweets. And I will give you a handshake." He puts his offer on the table.

"We will go eat some sweets and you're gonna give me a big hug, a kiss on the cheek and you need to say 'Happy Birthday Onee-chan! I love you!' with all the enthusiasm in the world." Gojo negotiates

"Sweets and a pat on the back..." Megumi bargains.

He wants to hug her and all that, but he knows that he can't look that eager.

"You will feed me the sweets... and the hug with the kiss."

"No feeding, only the hug and I can call Onee-san."

" 'Onee-chan' and we have a deal."

"Deal."

They shake hands, without spit this time.

"Then come." Gojo opens her arms wide, waiting for the hug. A big smile on her face.

"...ugh." Megumi looks around for a bit to make sure no one is watching. The problem with Gojo is the unexpected things that she can pull. Who knows if she will not do anything embarrassing to him just for shit and giggles?

He approaches her open arms slowly, he is half expecting to be pushed into the hug by her, but apparently, she is on the mind of letting him do it on his own.

She is training him!! Megumi is not even noticing that he is being groomed!

Finally, he puts his arms around her torso.

"Hmmm~ Good boy~" Her smile gets bigger while she puts her arms over his shoulder and hugs his head, bringing it down to her collarbone and shoulders. "You're so big now."

She is still a good 12 cm(5 inches) bigger than the almost 14-year-old Megumi.

"..." Megumi is liking it. In truth, he is enjoying it very much.

He weakly uses [Sticky Fingers] to make the hug pleasant to her, but he still has the presence of mind of not going overboard or putting his hand in... places.

"Happy birthday... Onee-chan." He says slowly, his voice slightly muffled on her body

"...incredible. Exactly like him. No cursed energy. Nothing. Zero." Gojo analyzes Maki while scratching her chin with her fingers. "There are many types of Heavenly Restrictions, to think one exactly like that bastard would reappear. And in the Zen'in clan again..."

"That's related to what I wanna talk about." Megumi sits on the couch between the twins.

"It's about the change in the two, right? I also noticed the increase in Mai's cursed energy. A world apart from her former self." Gojo says while sitting down

"Yeah..."

"Sorry to interrupt but... Happy Birthday, Gojo-san." Tsumiki says, bringing something from the kitchen "I made these sweets for you. I know you like them."

"Yes, Yesterday at my friend's home." Tsumiki answers with a smile.

"Oh Tsumiki-chan! Thank you! You're so much better than the cold Megumi-kyun! You're my favorite, did you know that?" Gojo fawns over the girl, going to give her a hug.

"...didn't I do the same?"

After Tsumiki excuses herself from the "complicated talk of sorcerers" to study, the four sorcerers start talking more seriously.

"These types of change are very unnatural. Are you guys sure that there are no side effects?" Gojo asks while eating Tsumiki's handmade sweets.

"If there's any side effect, it can only be the more than a decade that they spent shackled." Megumi snorts. He is not worried about that because he knows the whole truth.

"I see... And how did you guys break those shackles?" Gojo asks curiously

Maki and Mai looked at Megumi with strange expressions.

That is obviously seen by Gojo who pauses and narrows her eyes seeing the interactions between the three.

"I have a theory..." Megumi starts seriously

The twins inwardly sigh with relief. They are worried that Megumi would proudly claim that he has a magical dick or something. That would be embarrassing.

"But before I say it, answer me something Gojo..." Megumi continues "Has anyone ever been born with the Limitless Inherited Technique, but not with Six Eyes?"

"Hmm~ It's rare... but there are two examples of that."

"How was that? Is it usable?"

"Well... Theoretically, yes..." Gojo says slowly, thinking about how to explain before clasping her hands "Okay! Lesson time! There are two main reasons why a Limitless user needs the Six Eyes."

Gojo raises two fingers to illustrate "First, Limitless is a very costly cursed technique. And Second, it's very hard to use. The Six Eyes helps with these two aspects, allowing the user to have ultra-precise control of cursed energy, lessening the expenditure of Limitless. In the second part, it helps to 'tame' the hard-to-control Limitless. It's a very hard technique to use, you know? Even with the Six Eyes, few people are capable of using 'Red' and even fewer could pull a 'Purple'."

Hence why Fushiguro Toji didn't know of that technique and was caught by surprise by the sheer speed and destructive ability of Purple, causing his death.

"The other one has a ridiculous amount of cursed energy so he could 'fuel' the technique, but he lacked the fine control required to pull off the technique potential. He basically has a very clumsy telekinesis. Like making a barrier or pulling things to him." Gojo illustrates that by using some weird hand movements.

"So the Six Eyes is what allows the user of Limitless to bring its full potential..." Megumi says

"Yes."

 "And it's almost an anomaly for a user of Limitless to be born without the Six Eyes..."

"Yes to that too. Limitless needs the Six Eyes and in the Gojo clan, there's no better technique to use with the Six Eyes than Limitless.."

"Like the World and Destiny is giving the Gojo clan a way..."

"...yes. Where do you want to go with that, Megumi?" Gojo tilts her head

"There's always a way..." Megumi mumbles to himself before raising his head to face the people in the living room "The Ten Shadows and Limitless are always talked in the same breath..."

He suddenly seemingly changes subjects "Gojo, my father was undetectable to Barriers and Domains, right?"

"...yes. He had zero cursed energy. To all effects, he was an invisible non-existent man."

"Then... What would happen if I started the ritual to tame a shikigami and someone with zero cursed energy helped me?" Megumi finally arrives at the "X" of the equation.

"!!!" By the way Gojo's eyes widen, she understands the exact implications of that "The ritual would not identify the person with zero cursed energy as an outsider interfering and it will go normally..." She says in amazement.

Megumi nods "That's my theory. I believe that the Heavenly Restriction is to the Zen'in Clan and to the Ten Shadows user the same that the Six Eyes is to the Gojo clan and the Limitless user. The heavens gave them a possibility to reach their full potential."

"Mahoraga is a ridiculous cheat... Not even using Totality with all other nine shikigami can be guaranteed that someone can tame it."

The Big Raga is indeed built different. Megumi remembers some memes from his last life... 'There's the dogs, a toad, a snake... and then a Fucking souls game boss'!

"..." Everyone disgests his words in silence and shock

"It's really a coincidence that two, not one, but TWO people with a Heavenly Restriction that specifically takes away all of their cursed energy are born in the Zen'in clan in the same era as me? Maki and even my Father... They are born, or maybe selected, to help me tame Mahoraga and bring the Ten Shadows to completion?" Megumi says

"..."

"Maybe it's even destiny that I met Maki that day? And look at Mai! She is Maki's Twin, but she has a cursed technique... But her technique allows her to create cursed tools. This is exactly one of the ways that someone can tame Mahoraga! Overwhelming him with cursed tools! Because it would not be considered outsider interference! Is it really a coincidence that she was born with exactly this technique?" Megumi even thinks that with enough cursed tools, he can pull something similar to Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon.

Gojo gives a mirthless laugh "Haha, sorry. I know that I shouldn't be laughing at that, but... Haha. Their prejudice prevented them from discovering this. They were essentially crippled by their 'Pride'. Hahaha"

The irony is really intense in this case.

"Well, their loss and my win." Megumi snorts and hugs the twins, bringing them close to him "They are my treasure now." He says making them blush a little

"..." Gojo imperceptibly narrows her eyes seeing that "You people are really close, huh?" She says, her voice with a certain edge.

"Yeah. Maybe their proximity with me is what lifted the Curse of Twins." Megumi throws some white lies on the wall, hoping to stick.

"...I see... You three are like...made for each otherTch" Gojo continues to say slowly, eyeing the trio. "And what do you plan to do now?" She changes her tone and subject

"For now? Nothing. But with their help, the plan to tame Mahoraga can be brought forward by a looot." Megumi turns to them "What do you think, girls? Wanna help me do what no one ever did and tame the strongest shikigami?"

"Do you mean me, the Trash of the Zen'in clan, will have the chance of destroying their Crown Jewel in battle?" Maki smiles predatorily "Count me in."

"Me too. I will help with what I can." Mai adds, receiving a pat from Megumi.

"Whoa... Great... you three get along so well..." Gojo says in the same strange tone of voice.

Later, Gojo is being driven by Ijichi to a location that needs her.

The only sound in the car was made by Gojo's well-polished and manicured nails hitting the armrest of the car.

"..." Ijichi is sweating bullets right now. He can see that Gojo is in a bad mood. "Did something happen, Gojo-sa-"

"Shut up, Ijichi. Eyes on the road." She interrupts him "Tell me again about this mission or whatever... And make it brief."

'Am I suppose to shut up or not?' He thinks but doesn't dare to say it "It's to exorcize one of the registered Special Grade Cursed Spirits."

"We normally leave those alone and in a controlled environment... Did this one escape and massacre people or something?"

"No... But there have been reports of the registered Special Grades disappearing recently, so..." Ijichi doesn't finish because it's a sensitive subject to Gojo.

"I see. It's Geto, huh?" She says making Ijichi wince

"Probably... yes..."

"So they want me to kill it before he gets it..." She guesses correctly 'What are you planning, bitch?' She thinks about her best friend.

"We are here." Ijichi declares

They arrive at an open plain. The place was the stage of an old and bloody battle in the past. Or more like an ambush that killed thousands of soldiers... they died unwilling of the result.

And that is why a certain Special Cursed Spirit inhabits here.

"The Curtain is already deployed." Ijichi speaks

"Yeah, yeah." Gojo says dismissively before entering the battlefield without a care.

After walking for some time the ground trembles and an enormous figure emerges from it.

Gashadokuro... A yokai that looks like a giant skeleton. This one specifically appears to be a giant skeleton made of smaller skeletons. It's formed from the resentment of hundreds of soldiers.

Cursed Spirits are born from negative emotions like fear and disgust and they can be molded by this fear too. So it's common to cursed spirits to take the appearance of humanity's fear. Monsters, insects, disasters… and even myths and folklore.

The superstition and fear of the supernatural molded some cursed spirits to fit human imagination, and that's how yokai-like cursed spirits are born. Or even cursed spirits that take the form of a god.

And this one is an example of that.

"Raaaaaaaaaaarr!" The giant skeleton's roar is enough to shake the whole battlefield. A normal person would fall into a nightmarish fear-induced state by the roar alone.

But Gojo remains unaffected, she doesn't even appear to be paying attention to the giant Yokai.

Suddenly, the landscape changed... The ground looks red, covered in blood... It's also filled with corpses, weapons, and flags. The sky changed like one of the dusk too.

The Special Grade Curse Deployed his Innate domain. Spirits of the dead rise from the ground, and thousands of them rush to attack Gojo.

"...and it all falls in another's lap?!" She holds two fingers out, the colors start mixing

This is completely overkill!

"Hollow Technique... Purple."

A flash of purple light later and all the battlefield was clean.

"Haah~ That was relaxing~" She sighs while admiring her work

"It's okay... He will come around. I'm the best option. He loves me. He is simply distracted by the options..." She says to herself "But maybe we should start spending more time together?.."

"Maybe a trip together." To take him away from the others... "That hug was nice~"
