Chapter-76: Cavalry battle! All might gets PTSD!

(Shuji POV)

I went up to Mezo Shoji and asked him to be my horse for the cavalry battle and he accepted after some consideration and a lot of convincing.

In our team, There was Mineta, Tsuyu, Mezo and I.

I was riding over Mezo, who was carrying me while Tsuyu was standing alongside him while Mineta was on her back like a backpack.

"Don't worry too much. As soon as the game starts, we are guaranteed to win." I said.

As soon as the game started, everyone targeted us because I was worth a lot of point but I simply started flying while my horse changed the location where I asked it to go to and recovered their stamina while creating troubles for other teams by interfering with them.

Mineta restrained them, Tsuyu messed their balance and tipped a few horses while Mezo ran around, protecting them from messing.

I quickly changed my trajectory as I started taking out all the weaker candidates while avoiding stronger candidates. After I was done, taking a few headbands, I landed over Mezo's back safely.

"Now move." I said.

Tsuyu and quickly jumped on Mezo's back as he ran to the main candidates at full speed. I was going to target Bakugo's team for now. They were the easiest targets currently.

I quickly created some sturdy ice walls everywhere to isolate their team as I went in and leaped towards Bakugo who was reaching out for my headbands while I was reaching out for his.

I was going in his territory as I was facing his entire team while they were facing only me.

Sero's tape, Mina's acid and Kirishima's hand were blocking me as Bakugo sported a grin on his face. Looks like he thinks he got me?

I quickly used Kirishima's head as a foothold, pushing myself with the hand as I got some acid on my ice armor as well as the tape restrained me.

I burnt both of them as by flaring my flame side, melting the armor as well as I punched Bakugo right under the chin and took away all headbands he collected in one go. In the mix, he was able to explode a small chunk of my skin but no crazy damage was done.

It was superficial mostly.

As I still in the air , I instantly froze him and his team as I flared both my sides to change the trajectory and land on Mezo's back again.

"Got them. Quick. Run to safety." I said as I started freezing the area around me to create a confusing ice maze with no end to stall any enemies but to no avail.

Instantly, someone started breaking the ice.

It was Shoto's team that was using a cannonball to destroy the area as they closed in the distance.

"You think you can beat me, Shoto?" I said as I jumped up in the air as I began to fly up while my horse retreated to safety, avoiding the electric shock from Kaminari.

I instantly created a ice dome and I raged my flame side.

"I will properly crush you this once, brother." I said as a small but immensely strong fireball came into my hands, with blue flames.

He immediately got surprised from this as I was smiling.

"Snap of helios: Maxima." I said as I released the giant fire wall composed of blue flames on him.

He tried defending it with ice but it didn't work. It shredded through it as if it didn't exist.

He was having a really hard time that he used his ice side to maximum while using the flame side to warm himself up.

As the flames cleared out, I instantly jumped in and took away his headbands.

Denki was somehow able to grab my leg and send shockwaves through me but I flared my ice side, covering the foot and minimize the damage from the shock as Ice is a bad conductor. During this, my he managed to climb on me as he took a 20 point headband from me.

Ten million point headband wasn't taken, gratefully.

I punched him on the face and he fell, landing on the ice slide Shoto created for him for his safety.

I quickly moved out and froze the ice dome with layer upon layer of ice, not letting him out for the time being.

I was really tired from the flying as this was consuming a lot of stamina. I quickly spotted Mezo again and landed on his back safely as I took a few moments to rest as he avoided everyone and allowed me to rest.

"Next-" I said but I was interrupted by a hook that came from behind.

I dodged it effortlessly due to the instinct that was carved in my soul as I spotted Midoriya's team trying to ambush me.

"Oh no you don't." I said as I froze the entire area around me, not picking this fight.

After waiting for nearly 4 minutes of waiting, the battle was over.

"And OVER!" Present Mic announced as I melted the ice dome around me.

As I confirmed the match was over and no one was here trying to jump me, I quickly got off of Mezo's back and thanked the team for their good work and left the scene to take a breather.

I was tired from all the fighting. the flying consumes a lot of stamina and trajectory calculation is hard. Fight were fairly easy to do, however.

Top 4 teams this time were My own, Shoto, Midoriya and Bakugo.

They were able to somehow accelerate up, huh?

Well I didn't fight a few teams here and there because they were like children waiting their candy to be taken. I was reserving the shame for them.

It isn't humiliating to lose while competing with someone on par with you but it is really humiliating to win when you need to exploit some below trash level opponents for it.

"You need to start using super moves more, Shuji. Should've made quick work of everyone." I heard a voice from behind.

I immediately recognized the voice as Endeavor's.

"There is no need to squash them so hard. They were already stepped on and thoroughly beaten up. Imagine the shame when you need to exploit someone league below you to just win. That ought to hurt them way more." I said as I drank some juice.

"Let's have some tea, Endeavor!" All might said as he came out of nowhere.

"What a joke. Begone. I am talking to my son right now." He said as he sat down in front of me.

"Don't be so cold." All might said as he sat down right next him as he pulled out some tea from nowhere.

What the f*ck is he some sort of magician or what?

"You both can have nice long talk. I will head out. It's time to fight again in a couple of minutes." I said as I went out.

(3rd POV)

"What do you want to ask? Hurry up. I am a busy person." Endeavor said as he folded his hand, openly hostile to All might.

Even after making every bit of efforts, Endeavor was always one point behind All might. All because All might had luck favoring him and he was the host of a cheat like quirk.

Even after doing everything...Even after training till your bones break...Even after nearly dying every single time....

Endeavor pushed through...Just in hopes of becoming the next #1.

He didn't leave any stone unturned but what was the reason he was still under All might?

Fate wasn't on his side. That was it.

It drove the author insane-

Author: That's it. Cut. Don't bring in personal feelings here. Start again.

It drove Endeavor insane.

He couldn't even keep his anger in check for a moment in All might's presence.

All might was just rubbing salt on his wounds by just existing.

"I want to know how to raise the next generation." All might said with his ever present smile.

Endeavor was a little surprised because of this. Why would he want to know this?

"Why do you think I would tell you that? From the looks of it, you are as clueless as ever, getting on my nerves." He asked.

"Oh come on! Don't be like that. I really want to know how you did it. Your sons Shuji and Shoto are doing amazing in the academy. Just tell me, please." All might said as he tried convincing him.

"Constantly push their limits till they break. Heal them back again and start over. Remember this-- Whatever you are planning to do...He will rip it apart. He will easily surpass the likes of you in the coming years when he makes his hero debut. " Endeavor said as he got up and moved away to see his son's fight as he threw a small file with the title 'Shuji' towards All might.

He wanted All might to succeed in whatever he was doing as he wanted Shuji to beat him when he was at his best. Only that would satisfy him.

Nothing else can.

"Wait-" All might tried saying but was scolded by Endeavor.

"Get lost! I won't spoon feed you!" He said as he moved out.

"Haah..." All might sighed as he picked up the file Endeavor gave him, which instantly alerted him the moment he opened it.

The file had pictures of...A child brutally beaten up.

Under that, the details of injuries were written along with some comments.

It has been dated to 11 years ago.

'45 bones broken. Can easily avoid permanent injuries according to what I taught. Extremely amazing instincts for fighting and quirk usage. A born fighter. Still bad at controlling the power output.'

After that, another photo of the same child beaten up again, this time with different injuries than before with more information, dated a month later from the previous date.

'34 bones broken. Improving rapidly. the quirk training is going better than I expected. Still not enough.'

And so on went the file...

As All might turned the pages, the child got less and less injured until suddenly the injuries bumped up heavily once again.

'49 bones broken. The talent for control is amazing. It is time to start his strength training. I will stop holding back too much.'

All might's heart sank when he read the line. This was dated 5 years back from today.

But as he turned the pages, the injuries once again start to rapidly reduce.

Until it was dated with 2 year back from today and the entries finished.

It had a note written there.

'He is almost ready to crush All might.'

'Holy shit. This...What is this?' All might thought as he kept flipping the page till the end and it had a photo Endeavor with Shuji Todoroki, both sporting a smile. This also shocked All might a little as he never saw him smiling.

Ever.

'This is...beyond insane. How did Shuji even manage to...push through?' All might contemplated as he hid the book with himself.

He decided not to reveal any of it to anyone for now. The news was extremely unsettling to him.

He realized what he had done to Endeavor all this time.

While he ignored the pro heroes and helped the civilians, he didn't see the pro hero's insanity.

He just shrugged it off as jealousy towards him.

Because of him, something like this was done.

This was now weighing on his conscience.

In his career, he had saved many but there also had been instances where he couldn't save someone but it didn't weigh him down as much as this did.

An innocent child suffered for 11 grueling years under #2 hero's insane training because he was the top hero and he didn't even spot it when the perpetrator was right in front of his eyes.

He was now running his brain to somehow cope with the fact but more he thought about it, more things started to look harder.

The most hard hitting fact was that he knew Endeavor's character properly.

He wasn't satisfied with average or somewhat above average.

He aimed for excellence and settled for perfection.

His mission report reflected this as well. This meant that the training in recent years was even more gruesome than before.

All might's heart silently pained as he deflated. All that was left was him thinking about how to correct things from now.

Path of a hero has always been an ardent one. Even more ardent if as the Symbol of peace.

While All might was getting PTSD, Shuji was outside eating Takoyaki and cotton candy at the festival, enjoying himself thoroughly before his fight.
