Like always, Barnes's beta wolf Jules growled bluntly inside him, as if he could evidently sense the harrowing anxiety Barnes was enduring inside, despite being a small kid himself. From a few other maids, he had known the wolves would usually awaken inside them when they attained the age of 18, which was supposedly considered normal in their society.
But to his own surprise, Barnes awakened his wolf when he was only 13, which made him feel too shocked to believe it was real! Compared to his soft, compassionate nature, Jules was quite rigid and outspoken which sometimes made Barnes feel a little vexed, considering how he used to nag at him.
