Xavier and Alex both went outside their hostel and saw several students engaged in conversations with each other. They overheard their peers talking about their experiences inside the Pokémon world.
Some students seemed frustrated, others appeared distressed, and only a few had smiles on their faces. Xavier and Alex didn't join in the discussions and headed straight for the facility's training ground while continuing their conversation.
"Hey, Xavier, how should I distribute my points?" asked Alex.
Xavier replied, "You shouldn't use points right now. Since we have been given 3 days off, you should use this opportunity to first use the Tower Pass tomorrow and see if you can earn at least a D grade evaluation. That way, you might get a chance to learn a move."
"After that, you can decide how to distribute your points."
To which Alex nodded and then continued asking, "Hey, did you start using the Mental Method book?"
Xavier shook his head and said, "I even forgot about it until you reminded me just now. I recall trying to use it before entering the tower, but I discovered that in order to practice the Mental Method book, one needs to have an intelligence attribute of at least 10."
He continued, "Forget what I said about distributing points earlier," Xavier advised Alex. "Just focus all your points on intelligence and try to reach 10 as soon as possible. It's crucial right now."
As they continued walking, they eventually arrived at the training ground, where several military personnel were engaged in rigorous exercises. Both Xavier and Alex observed them for a moment, and that's when Xavier realized he had yet to use his talent in the real world. With his mental energy now at 52, he was capable of utilizing his talent.
Curiosity getting the better of him, Xavier decided to activate his talent, "Inspect," on one of the training personnel. Instantly, a holographic screen popped up in front of him, providing detailed information about the individual. However, as he absorbed the information, a sudden chill ran down his spine, and he stumbled, falling to the ground.
Concerned, Alex rushed to his friend's side, asking, "Xavier, are you alright?"
Shaking off the disconcerting feeling, Xavier managed to respond, "I'm alright, but I feel tired. Let's go back to the room."
Agreeing with Xavier, Alex helped him back to their hostel. As they walked, Xavier couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, and when he glanced back, all of the training personnel seemed to be looking in their direction.
Upon returning to their respective rooms, Xavier checked his status and noticed that his Mental Energy section now displayed 2/52. He realized that using "Inspect" consumed 50 mental energy, leaving him with only two remaining.
Sitting on his bed, Xavier contemplated the information he had learned through "Inspect."
--------
Name : David Meline
Race : Zombie Soldier
Talent : Enhanced Senses
- Sense of hearing , sight and smell is increased.
Skills : Poison Arm
---------
Xavier vividly recalled the image of David Meline that had manifested before him after using "Inspect." It bore a striking resemblance to the zombies he had seen in animes back on Earth.
Xavier was certain that he was under some kind of illusion since one of the features of the Insight talent was to break illusions, revealing the true appearance of David as a zombie.
Xavier wanted to use Inspect on other military personnel as well, but his mental energy was not sufficient for such an action.
Numerous questions flooded his mind:
1. Was there some kind of conspiracy at play?
2. Who was responsible for subjecting him and the others to the illusion?
3. Could there be someone controlling the zombies?
4. Were there other zombies like David within the military?
5. Was he the only one who saw through the illusion, or did someone else also perceive the truth?
6. Did the higher-ups in the military have knowledge of a zombie among their ranks?
...
...
....
Xavier made the decision to keep these questions to himself for the time being and conduct a private investigation later on. He didn't want to jump to conclusions or cause unnecessary panic.
Feeling mentally drained and with only two points of mental energy remaining, Xavier decided to rest and recuperate. He lay down on his bed, closing his eyes, and allowed his mind to drift.
