Battle continues

Jr. Trainer's voice echoed, "Shellder, Ice Shard!"

Shellder responded with a shard of icy energy that sped towards Kadabra. Xavier's Pokémon swiftly sidestepped the attack, narrowly avoiding the icy projectile. The Ice Shard struck the ground behind Kadabra, leaving a small frozen patch.

"Kadabra, use Confusion!" Xavier commanded, determined to maintain control of the battle.

Kadabra's eyes glowed with psychic energy as it unleashed a wave of mental force towards Shellder. However, Shellder demonstrated surprising agility, managing to evade the Confusion attack by quickly retracting into its shell.

Jr. Trainer seized the opening, "Shellder, now, Water Gun!"

Shellder emerged from its shell with remarkable speed and released a powerful jet of water at Kadabra. The Water Gun attack hit Kadabra head-on, causing it to stagger backward with a startled expression. The force of the water had caught it off guard, and its health bar dipped noticeably.

Xavier's brow furrowed. He had underestimated Shellder's resilience and Jr. Trainer's strategic approach. "Kadabra, Thunder Punch!"

Kadabra lunged forward, its fist charged with electric energy. But Shellder was quick-witted, using its Water Gun once again to intercept the attack, dispersing the electric charge before it could make contact. The clash of elemental energies created a crackling burst of steam.

Jr. Trainer's eyes sparkled with determination. "Shellder, let's use Whirlpool!"

Shellder began to spin rapidly, generating a swirling vortex of water that engulfed Kadabra. The Whirlpool threatened to trap Kadabra within its watery confines, but Xavier's Pokémon fought back, using its psychic powers to create a protective barrier that prevented the Whirlpool from ensnaring it completely.

Xavier's mind raced as he tried to devise a strategy to turn the tide of battle. He needed to act fast. "Kadabra, Teleport!"

Kadabra's body shimmered and vanished in a flash of light, reappearing a short distance away from the Whirlpool's grasp. Xavier's heart pounded as he watched Shellder closely, waiting for the right moment.

"Kadabra, now! Confusion!" Xavier's voice rang out with determination.

Kadabra's psychic energy surged once more, forming a focused beam of power that lanced towards Shellder. The Confusion attack struck true this time, and Shellder was lifted into the air by the psychic force. The Water-type Pokémon struggled, but its strength was waning.

Jr. Trainer's eyes shone with a mixture of frustration and pride. "Shellder, use Ice Shard!"

Despite its weakened state, Shellder managed to summon an Ice Shard, launching it towards Kadabra. The Ice Shard hit Kadabra, causing it to falter momentarily. The hit was just enough to tilt the balance of the battle.

Xavier's heart raced as he assessed the situation. "Kadabra, one final Thunder Punch!"

Kadabra summoned the last of its strength, its fist crackling with electric energy. The Thunder Punch connected with Shellder, who was now struggling to stay afloat. The powerful blow sent Shellder spiraling backward, and with a final splash, the Water-type Pokémon was defeated.

The battlefield fell silent as the battle's conclusion settled in. Xavier's Kadabra panted heavily, standing victorious but visibly fatigued.Kadabra also leveled upto 17.

After the battle, Jr. Trainer returned Shellder to its Poké Ball and handed over 1500 PokéCoins to Xavier as a reward for his victory. With the PokéCoins in hand, Xavier then moved forward to challenge the next Jr. Trainer.

The clash between Goldeen and Mankey proved to be less demanding for Mankey, as it secured an easy victory over its opponent. Following the win, Xavier received an additional 1500 PokéCoins. Before proceeding to challenge Misty, Xavier decided it was best to treat his Kadabra at the Pokémon Center.
