On the side of a river, a kid around the age of eleven-twelve years of age could be seen with his upper body exposed on his neck was a accessory which contained a shrunk pokeball.
Well defined muscles were seen on his skinny body, even though he was white skinned which plenty of women would even envy.
Obviously this was our MC, Caleb Laurent.
Curenntly, he was drying up his navy blue shirt with his hands. After giving the shirt a few twisting sqeeze, he set it aside on a boulder and sat down right besides where he placed it on.
Caleb felt fortunate that they managed to escape the hive of beedrills just moments ago. Alhough not much time has passed since the mouse and cat chase, he still felt frustrated by the situation he was currently on.
Ever since the beginning of his training, where his grandfather had left him with his pokemon alone in the wilderness, he quickly realizes his blunder.
First, was him screaming. Even though it was on impulse because of the shock he felt from knowing the purpose of why he was sent here by his old geezer of a grandfather, it was a huge mistake for him that he didn't tone down his emotions.
Hence, because of this mistake it made the pokemons nearby the vicinity attracted to his bitchy scream. Unfortunately, of all the wild pokemons he attracted, it has to be to the Beedrills which was infamously known for hunting food and fight other wild pokemons together with the hive.
They were also notoriously famed as 'Newbie Butchers'.
As a lot of incident happened, where trainers who just started or has been training for a while stumbled across their territory unknowingly being because the hive would constantly be changing their ground.
Those unfortunate trainers who did not even got the chance to bloom, would only have two ends for them; either dying while their body was punctured of multiple holes by their poisonous barbs or getting seriously injured.
Hence, their nickname which made numerous students who knew of this information regarded them with high vigilance for fear that they might encounter them.
Caleb decided to stop his running thoughts. He sighed tiredly before his eyes drifted towards the pokeball hanging on his neck.
Caleb obviously couldn't blame Magby for being such a pussy on the cliff. Not to mention the flamethrower attack it did earlier which could potentially create a forest fire, although he comanded that and wasn't quick enough to react for the move to be dropped.
But, he still felt frustration in his stomach as Magby seemed quite cold towards him. He understood every single poketalk the Magby uttered and feel the emotions it held towards him, which was why he felt a little frustrated. The prideful and commanding tone the fire-type held towards him was found very unbearable to Caleb.
It may seem narrow-minded of him, but he really felt that he had to curbe Magby's attitude or else his position as his trainer would be vague in Magby's eyes as this would go on, despite viewing him as a family he didn't want to become a trainer who has a pokemon that held no regard of respect to his trainer.
Of course, Caleb didn't mind a pokemon possessing it's own freedom and he wanted for his pokemon and future pokemons to be independent as well, so that they wouldn't rely on him each time when a situation arises.
Nonetheless, there should be some aspects like consideration for him as their trainer. That's purely what Caleb's intended thought process was.
With that decided, he released Magby from his pokeball.
Magby straight away looked around him before sighing in relief when he saw Caleb.
"Magby! mag." (Your alive! That's good.)
Caleb frowned at Magby's initial response.
Not paying attention to his trainer any further, it found itself sitting down on a rock.
"Magby, are you going to be like that and act so arrogant to your trainer who was by your side since the day you hatched?"
Caleb got its attention as Magby turned to stare at him silently. Before avoiding eye contact, then continued to lay down on the rock.
Caleb felt the frustration inside of him slowly increasing.
"I'm sorry to say this... But, look. You have to admit that the strength you gained now was mostly because of the training I planned and because of me being there with you."
An irritated look appeared on the red faced duck's facial features, as it turned towards his direction. This time in displeasure.
"Magby? Mag, Magby?" (What do you mean? That I won't grow as strong without you?)
Caleb frowned, this conversation wasn't going to the direction he was expecting, but he continued albeit with a softer tone. "Magby... We are supposed to be family... Partners. I'm not expecting you to worship or even view me in esteemed, but can you at least give me the respect and consideration I deserved? I... We trained together for three years now, haven't you not less than once felt heed to my feelings as well?"
Magby frowned at that, but said nothing in response. Caleb's words seemed to slowly register into its hot-tempered head. As scenes to the beginning of his birth till today flashed across his mind.
He slowly began to realize that Caleb's words were accurate. However, even though he knew his wrongs he stubbornly didn't admit the guilt he was feeling as he also realized the way he act towards his trainer so far were a bit excessive of him.
He did released a soft snort in response though.
But that was enough, Caleb smiled as he felt Magby's real complicated emotions conveyed to him from their connection.
Luckily, this didn't escalated to a back and forth bickering between the two of them. Magby still managed to listen and for the first time, lowered it's pride.
Caleb turned around and picked up his shirt from the place he let it dry. It now felt a bit dry to touch, so he wore it on him.
He found a stone that was hanging from the pocket of his shirt. He picked it up and throwed the stone behind him, aiming at nothing in particular.
But he did hit something.
Magby went back up to his side as they gazed at the bird like figure in the distance.
Caleb squinted his eyes in hopes of making out the species of the pokemon, but they suddenly widened as he realized what he had just done.
"Oh crap."
Another pokemon, another infamous one, and also another one with vicious behavior.
Spearow, for beginner-level trainers, they were hard to handle, and dangerous to go up against.
And Caleb had just pissed one off with a casual throw of a rock, disturbing it's sleep.
...
It happened so fast.
One moment Caleb and Magby were arguing. Then next they were being chased.
It was like they had already forgotten about their earlier hostility with each other. Self-preservation was far more important to both of them than to settle their personal business.
At first it was just one spearow. But, things quickly started to get worse for the both of them.
Now they are being chased by a decent few.
Caleb's mind was a blur.
How did they ended up in this position?
Why did this day just kept on getting worse?
Is the spearow species even native to Kalos?
At this point, Caleb just wanted for Arceus to throw him a bone.
Oh how Caleb prayed to the high-legendaries above that they are going towards the correct direction for Lumiose City.
The following incidents really didn't give him enough time to see and preserve where they are. Hopefully, their luck would throw him a bone this time.
