After fidgeting with the settings, Jax found out that the minimap was super useful. First, he was represented as a triangle in the middle of the map. No matter where he went, he was always in the middle of the map, so he guessed he won't ever not know where he was on the minimap. The second thing he found out was that his two pokemon showed up as green dots. The next thing he noticed; two blue dots were quickly headed towards them as of this moment. He didn't know what that meant, but he was soon going to find out!
Not wanting to take any risks, he instructed his two pokemon to be combat ready. After hearing what happened to his mother, Jax decided it was time to hit first, ask questions later so he had Vioarr use Dig to dig a hole in front of the tunnel the blue dots were going to exit from and fill it up with Venom Drench. After that was taken care of, Jax had him use Toxic Spikes to spread barbs from the tunnel leading into the cave they were in. While Vioarr was doing that, Teritus was busy prepping Iron Defense to raise it up to the max amount. Looking at the minimap, the two blue dots were about to exit the tunnel!
As something round rolled through the tunnel and into the cave, Jax used his new trained psionic powers to slow it down before attempting to levitate it in place in the air. While he was trying to achieve that, the second blue dot reached the exit of the tunnel and stepped through only to be greeted by a Zen Headbutt from the cannon ball! Seeing that it was a successful attack, Jax finally focused his attention back towards whatever was in the air. Seeing the familiar grey, jagged rocks on a round body, Jax immediately paled and gently set her down!
"Graveler! Are you okay? I'm so sorry! I didn't know if you were friend or foe!"
Brushing herself off, Graveler didn't seem hurt anywhere so Jax sighed in relief. Since Graveler obviously wasn't a hostile party, that must mean that blue represents nonhostile entities. Turning to see who the other nonhostile being was, Jax was greeted by an unexpected person hunched over clutching his stomach.
"Headmaster Leon! What are you doing here?"
"Oof! Give me a second boy. That darn thing came from no where and attacked me!" Still clutching his stomach, Leon took in deep breaths and long exhales while flexing his abs to try and mitigate the pain. Finally catching his breath, he slowly stood back up with his arms raised in surrender.
"Graveler there told me what happened. I rushed here as quick as I could through tunnel she made. Although I know the gist of the situation, I want to hear what you have to say."
Telling Headmaster Leon everything he had seen so far since he's been back, Jax looked at him to see if he could provide any additional insight. Sighing, Headmaster Leon pulled Jax in for a hug. "I know this is hard for you. You probably want to rush out there and find your mother right this moment, but I can't allow you to do that. If what you and Graveler are saying is true, I believe I know where your mother is going, and I can confidently say you're not ready to go there yet."
Listening to the headmaster talk, Jax jus allowed himself to be hugged while he contemplated the options Headmaster Leon gave him. One, he could go stay with Grandpa Rick and go to school from his house. Two, Jax could live at the dorms like some of the other students whose house was too far away to commute. Three, Jax could go stay with Count Freiders and continue to train under his teacher, Sabrina. Or four, Jax could stay with Leon and learn how to channel his aura more efficiently. Surprised by the sudden invitation to become the world's number one trainer's student, Jax was shocked and happy all at the same time. Weighing the pros and cons of each other, Jax finally came to his conclusion; he would take Leon's offer.
While his psychic powers had grown considerable under Sabrina's guidance, his aura powers have stayed stagnant for too long. There was only so much he could do by himself and as the levels of the two powers strayed further apart, the harder time Jax would have to find innovative uses for them like he did back during the tournament. If Jax was a single power user, he wouldn't have to worry about how high the level of his powers were but since he was a dual wielder, he had to keep a delicate balance within his body or else they could clash against each other.
Jax spent the next year under Leon's direct tutelage and traveling to the Borden Empire occasionally to learn from Sabrina. Many things had changed within this past year. First, Jax had turned 7 years old. One year older now, he was beginning to lose his baby fat and his handsomeness was beginning to show through more.
Second, since he spent so much time learning from Leon, Jax moved into the dorms so that he didn't have to commute as far from Grandpa Rick's house. As he spent more time at the dorms and on school campus, he had more interactions with Ally. The two ate together almost every day and even had a couple mock battles. Everything would be great if only Evelyn didn't keep tagging along and glaring at him.
Third, the pokemon in his sub-space finally produced an egg with prompted his last known function to finally unlock: Incubator!
Fourth, while out training throughout Yulti Mountain and Ryul Woods, Jax caught a variety of different pokemons and found more organic materials to add to his sub-space. Now, his sub-space looked more like a second world than a petting zoo.
Fifth, the pokemon egg he received from Leon after winning the annual Battle Competition finally hatched. As it turned out, the dragon inside of the egg came from the Unova region but more about that later.
Sixth, Jax's two pokemon have grown stronger. Like, much, much stronger. Vioarr was finally given a Moonstone EX but that will be discussed later on. Teritus was also able to evolve once it hit level 20.
Seventh, Metsys recovered enough energy to now appear for half a day every day. If timed right, she could even show up for a full 24 hours but would have to rest for 24 straight hours in which she couldn't even talk. The cons outweighed the pro, so she just usually stayed as a ring on Jax's left index finger.
