Evening the odds

The newly formed Haunter looked at his hand then at Ash, "You dare,"

"Yeah why not, just seemed a little unfair, just thought I would even the odds," Ash said

The Haunter squinted its eyes and stared at Ash before opening them and laughing, "Jie Jie I see you are an Aura Guardian, I thought I would never get to see another one, here I believed they went extinct."

"Wow so you aren't as stupid as you look, impressive I half expected you to confuse me with a Psychic," Ash said, making the confused Sabrina even more confused.

"How could I not, you Aura Guardians are my favorite, your souls are just so pact full of life, when I devour your soul and that girl I will be even stronger than in my prime, Jie Jie Jie."

"Oh, so you want to approach me?"

"I can't devour your soul without getting closer."

"Ho ho, well then come as close as you'd like,"

The Haunter's eyes shined red as its hand reformed and it started rushing towards Ash and Sabrina, Ash pointed at it with two fingers and then pointed to the left without moving his arm, then from the side Charizard, who just spammed 6 Dragon Dances, delivered a Shadow Claw to its face sending it flying away into a nearby cliff, and on his head was Pikachu standing with authority and his arms crossed.

"Nice work bud now go get them back over here," Ash yelled over to Charizard, he simply nodded and sped away.

"Hey can you put me down now," Sabrina said, still in Ash's arms.

"Aww, and here I was thinking that we could stay like this for a bit longer, fine," Ash said jokingly as he let her get back to her feet.

"How did you-" Sabrina asked when suddenly the sounds of rumbling started resonating from the new opening.

Coming out quickly was the giant Haunter, "How dare you, I have never felt such humiliation in all my centuries."

"Really what makes you so great?" 

"I am the Black fog, worshiped by the masses, I am a God!"

"Really because all I see is an overgrown child who couldn't evolve so decided to overcompensate and pick on anyone weaker than you," Ash said.

"Why you little, I will enjoy your screaming!" Haunter said when suddenly he was stopped by an invisible barrier.

"I don't expect this to hold you for long, I'm just stalling for time," Ash said, snapping his fingers, as a box appeared around the Haunter keeping it in place, "Besides you said it yourself you are weaker than you were all those years ago."

The Haunter simply used its hands and broke the barriers, "Pitiful party tricks are useless."

"Wow impressive, I guess I still have work to do, well anyway I did my job I'll leave it up to them," Ash said before putting his arm around Sabrina, "Hey you mind?"

Sabrina looked confused but when she saw the giant ghost rapidly approach them she immediately grabbed Ash and Teleported to the top of a separate cliff as its fist destroyed the cliff they were on.

At the same time, Charizard came back with Hypno and the Mega Alakazam on his back flying at high speeds, Alakazam noticed what it was doing and teleported to the back of the Haunter and summoned a Shadow ball in between its hands, then it closed its hands and released them making the Shadow ball grow to 50x it's normal size and threw it at the Ghost.

Haunter noticed it in time and tried to push it back but still took the brunt of the damage, but it fixed itself and put its hands together and formed black and purple rings releasing a Dark Pulse.

Alakazam used Ally Switch again and swapped places with Charizard and Hypno, and Hypno used Telekinesis to redirect the rings of energy as Charizard continued to fly forward.

After they had a clear path Hypno jumped off the fire lizard and made a Psycho Cut on the head as Charizard hit the lower part with a Dragon Tail, meanwhile Pikachu jumped off and started running across Haunter's head, both hitting the giant ghost then Charizard caught Hypno who then Teleported away before it could retaliate.

A good thing because immediately after Haunter did a breath attack that released more Ghosts that spread and started chasing the three.

Meanwhile, Ash and Sabrina were staring down at them from a higher Cliff, "Wow they are not doing as good as I thought, well I guess it is still quite strong."

Sabrina looked at Ash, "Wait what, who, why are you-' but she was stopped when Ash put a finger on her lips.

"We can talk later but we kinda have a bigger problem, so you wanna help, I really only thought this far."

"Eh-You mean you did all of that and you don't have a plan?!"

"I have a plan, it's just that it basically boils down to Charizard getting your Pokemon and then jumping the thing, but they can only do so much," Ash said pulling out his dex and Scanning the Haunter.

"Wow I actually got nothing, this is not going to be fun, well what can you do." Ash sighed and looked at Sabrina.

"So is your entire plan just to fight this monster?" Sabrina asked.

"Ha, no we can't beat this thing, even after all that look at it it is pretty much unaffected, the best thing we can do is stall and wait for everyone to get here with the Pokeball."

Sabrina sighed, "I suppose I don't have room to talk since I came to fight it alone."

"Yeah that was pretty dumb," Ash said bluntly, making Sabrina feel like she got shot in the chest.

"Aren't you supposed to try at least to comfort me,"

"Why? I tell it as it is, you did something dumb so I am going to call you out on it, that's how I was raised." 

"*Sigh* Your like an annoying little brother, fine let's see how long we can hold this monster off"

Ash just gave an evil smile hearing that, "OK Onee Chan, I'll support you,"

Sabrina got caught off guard and before she could say anything Ash jumped off the cliff and when she looked over he disappeared.

"I'm not even going to question it," Sabrina said before forming a Connection with her Pokemon.

Meanwhile, in the fight, the three were fighting off the near army of smaller Ghosts, though each of them only needed one good hit the problem was each time they would take one down it would get absorbed by the Giant Haunter and then released as a new one.

Meanwhile, Pikachu was dodging the Haunter's hands that were going after him since he was on top of its head, but he continued dodging causing the Haunter to hit himself on the head, then Pikachu used that opportunity to jump off its head and send a Thunderbolt at it getting a direct hit.

Pikachu then jumped on one of the Ghosts and forced it to move towards his fire lizard companion also getting followed by a dozen ghosts, when he was close they noticed each other and Pikachu used an Iron tail to hit the ghost and jump back onto Charizard, who then shot a Flamethrower at the ghosts dispersing them all.

Then as they were recovering the two heard a familiar voice in their head, [Sup my guys, how are things going for you?] It was Ash.

[Try hearing about it from that Chunibyo, seriously we need to put a leash on her or something.] Pikachu said.

[Anyway it would be easier if it wasn't for all these extra ghosts,]

[Wh- Oh Arceus!] Charizard said as he dodged a giant fist from the Haunter.

"Jie Jie what's wrong running low on steam."

Hypno who was on top of Charizard spoke up "Hyp-Hypno(So what, You're nothing more than a coward that uses others to fight for you and run away when things get tough, in a 1 on 1 I'd always bet against you.)"

Haunter's eye twitched as he got furious, he held his hand out and absorbed all the Ghosts he released including the ones wreaking havoc in the town, but as he said that a Blue halo appeared around his hands.

Then he put his hand forward, "YOU WILL ALL DIE SCREAMING!"

Then nothing, everyone including Sabrina who was standing above was confused, and then everyone heard the sounds of laughter, "Shishishi."

Looking down they saw Ash smiling and laughing with Abra on his shoulder, "What's wrong, is there a problem, what can little old me do for you."

"You what did you do," Haunter said less as a question or as a command.

"I told you, I'm here to even the odds," Ash said, giving him the cheekiest smile he could give him, then put up a sideways peace sign and teleported away as Haunter rushed to his location.

But before it could get far Hypno took the chance and jumped towards it and grabbed its back and using telekinesis under its feet for leverage, did a German suplex allowing Charizard to perform an uppercut with a Fire punch and Pikachu to help out with a Thunder Punch.

Then before Haunter could recover, Alakazam used Ally Switch to swap the two allowing Hypno to push himself up to deliver a Zen Headbutt, with Charizard and Pikachu pushing it farther down with a Thunder Punch combo.

Then from the top Alakazam connected all its spoons and charged electricity between them, meanwhile, it used its own Psychic to hold it in place and the other to perform one final Ally Switch

Hypno was given the opportunity to send another Psycho Cut to its stomach as Charizard flew up to pick it up and teleport away as Alakazam finished Charging with its spoons, releasing a Zap Cannon that the Haunter couldn't dodge.

For a moment it was silent as the Haunter fell but it started levitating again before it hit the ground, "Why you little, if you think you can defeat me with just this you have another thing coming. I may not be able to use everything with these things but that won't stop me"

Then in its big hands, a Shadow ball was formed and it was thrown, not at any Pokemon but at Sabrina, it went so fast that none of the Pokemon could react in time, and just as it was about to hit Sabrina it stopped, and around it was a light purple energy.

Everyone was surprised until they heard the sounds of someone, "I don't think that is allowed, don't you agree, partner."

Looking at the direction of the voice it was the old man and standing next to him was a very old-looking Golduck. They were both riding on top of Gyarados with Misty, although her Gyarados couldn't fly yet either, but she could still float fast enough.

The Golduck nodded and they both looked at the ball, "Then let's return this gift."

"Duck" Golduck's eyes then turned Purple and the Shadow ball that was directed at Sabrina started moving back, first slowly then very fast hitting the giant Haunter hard again.

Misty stood next to the old man and slapped him on the back, "Not a bad old-timer. I can respect a well-trained water type when I see one, but don't count us out just yet." 

Misty went into her bag and pulled out her Mystic water pendant and put it around her Gyarados' horn crown thing and yelled, "Hydro Pump full power!"

Gyarados shot a boosted beam of water that aimed to shoot the giant Ghost ghost that was still recovering.

At the same time the Pokemon in the sky heard a Whistle, looking over to where it came from they saw Ash appear on top of Charizard with them, "Well what are you waiting for Thunderbolt Full power."

Pikachu took a second to process it but also smiled and climbed on Ash's arm, and jumped into the air to shoot a Thunderbolt with everything he had, the two opposing beams met in the middle at the Haunter.

The two attacks combined in the middle and became more powerful, shocking the Ghost and finally landing Paralysis.

Ash caught Pikachu and noticed Brock and Yellow with a distinct-looking Giant Pokeball, then he screamed out, "Everyone let's end this, stop it from moving!"

Brock and Yellow released 3 Pokemon in total, both their Gravelers and Ash's Machoke, and between the three they picked up the ball and prepared to throw it.

Meanwhile, Golduck, Hypno, and Alakazam, along with Sabrina, combined their Psychic power to start restraining the giant ghost.

Because of what Ash did it couldn't turn intangible or become Gas, so it started exerting force and it slowly began to move until from under it Brock's Onix and Ash's Gyarados appeared and wrapped around it and its arms completely leaving it open.

At that moment the trio threw the Ball, and for a few seconds everything was silent until the ball hit the giant Ghost and opened, then Large pink chains were quickly released and started wrapping around the Ghosts head/body and hands, letting the two snake-like Pokemon flee and everyone to release their Power as the Ghost struggled.

Everyone held their breath at that moment, after all, if it failed they had nothing left in the tank, most of them were tired and the Haunter only looked like it was at half HP.

But more chains came out and started slowly pulling the Haunter in as it struggled violently trying to destroy the chains or the ball to no avail.

"NO, NO How can I be restrained like this, I refuse I won't be captured by humans!" Then the Black Fog looked around and made eye contact with Ash, then it pointed its hand directly to its face, "I WILL NEVER SURRENDER TO YOU HUMANS!"

Then in an instant, an explosion was released point blank at Haunter, the explosion pushed everyone back and almost made Hypno and Ash fall off of Charizard, and when the smoke cleared the only thing left was an empty hard husk of a Haunter, and the Pokeball was lying open on the ground.

Seeing this everyone finally took a breath of relief as from the husk bright blue orbs started flying out and were dispersed everywhere. During the event multiple People had their souls devoured and went into a coma-like state, but when the orbs hit the people they began waking up.

Sabrina sat down and looked at the empty husk and took a deep breath, then she heard somebody take a seat by her side, when she looked over she saw Ash with an Abra in his hoodie and holding a sleeping Pikachu.

"Hey, I guess we won Onee Chan."
