Route006 : The strength to synchronise

"Pathetic, losing with such ease and now resting without reason, darn loser" said gary oak with a disgusted face as he walked off with the rest of his teammates.

Their group was going to challenge the gabites, to establish themselves as "above" the other two. Gary's teammates weren't really willing to play along untill gary bribed them.

*****Around the lake's shore*****

"Listen y'all. You see those red berries over there? Those are cheri-berries, their function is curing paralysis upon consumption. The plant near that one has a lot of sitrus berries, get those too" said sora.

"Is this what you meant by "the loophole to completing this challenge"? I hope you're not kidding here" said bea.

"This is the activity necessary for accessing the loophole. After we let our pokemon consume these berries, we're gonna catch two pokemon, one with one of your great balls and one with one of mine" said sora, with a high amount of confidence.

Both bea and gloria couldn't come up with something better and the time was ticking so they showed faith in sora. Upon plucking all the berries from the two plants, bea placed them infront of sora.

"Where's giroud and kanye? Anyways, tomiyasu, gloria and bea, please call out your pokemon" said sora, who suspected that the two ran away.

"Those two idiots ran away it seems. Here's my primeape" said bea as she called out her pokemon, as the others followed her lead.

The pokemon were hurt badly and normal recovery would take about two-hours. Sora knew what he had to do so he woke the four of them up and started feeding them sitrus berries.

This worked wonders, as each pokemon completely recovered their health after three berries. Since there were plenty of them, sora was left with about ten of them even after this healing session.

"Big brother, are you a magician? How did our pokemon heal so fast?'' asked a confused koharu.

"To think you had such knowledge about berries too, huh? It seems you're more than a guy who speaks out of proportion" said bea.

"Anyways, follow me. I'm approaching the true key or keys to completing this" said sora as he started walking towards something with the rest of them following him. He stored the rest of the berries in his backpack for future use.

After further walking and walking, the two groups reached a place with a lapras and an..abomasnow.

Bea and the rest of them were enthralled by the two pokemon infront of them. At the same time they wondered, "how does beating an abomasnow and a lapras help us at all"?!

"I know y'all are pretty surprised by this. The plan is to beat these two pokemon, catch them with one of our great-balls and beat the gabites afterwards. I hope y'all didn't forget the part where I mentioned that we need to catch certain pokemon" said sora.

"Isn't it risky to try and catch it? I mean if our group fails then we're down a great-ball" said gloria.

"She's right. This is nuts" added victor, who wasn't sure about it.

"The thing is, two primeapes are incredibly good for fighting a lapras, not to mention monferno's and raboot's advantage over abomasnow regardless of levels" said sora, with a high amount of confidence and grit.

"I'm with him on this one" said serena, only to be followed by ash and tomiyasu.

"Uhmm....ice types should be super good against gabites so I think I can trust you with this" said gloria. Bea was already on the same page and victor didn't want to feel left out.

"Okay, so we're gonna boost our stats now to max just like before by quietly using moves like work up and agility while maintaining a distance" said sora.

"After that, the primeapes, led by bea and tomiyasu fight the lapras 2-vs-1 while I assist gloria in thrashing the abomasnow" added sora.

Well, this was the best strategy and helped sora develop a better sense of his own abilities such as level assessing and ability assessing. After five minutes, the boosting was completed.

Sora understood that he was already awakened but he didn't have any idea of what he needs to do to access it.

To try and learn the trick to doing it, sora started staring the abomasnow and lapras and thought about existing information he knew about them and things he wanted to know.

This worked wonders as sora suddenly felt a vision in his mind. It showed a picture of an abomasnow and had all of its information written on it. This meant that sora finally knew the trick to it. He then tried it again on the lapras.

This, coupled with the level-43 abomasnow's snow warning ability made them a good pair.

"Sora, we're done boosting the pokemon" said bea as the four leading battlers were getting ready to fight the wild pokemon.

"Let's charge in, now. Remember the plan and stick together. Gloria, I'm gonna have to depend on you for a bit now" said sora as he charged in.

"Primeape, close in and use karate chop" said bea.

"Primeape, use fire punch and sneak attack it from the back while bea's primeape uses karate chop on it" said tomiyasu.

Lapras was surprised by this sudden attack and that messed with its reaction time. It barely blocked the karate chop, taking a bit of chip damage. The fire punch, which was timed awfully well had smacked lapras in its blind spot.

"Oi bea, that should've been enough to atleast cost it 25% of it's full health" said tomiyasu.

"We make an awfully great team now don't we, nerd from johto?" said bea.

"How about we switch things up this time? I'll do what you did and you do what I did" said tomiyasu to which bea nodded her head.

"Primeape, use a slow fire punch like the other one" said bea.

"Go hit a karate chop from the front" said tomiyasu.

Tomiyasu's primeape charged in straight with a karate chop, to which the lapras fired an ice beam. Tomiyasu's primeape hesitated a bit and jumped.

"Now primeape, but not there" said bea signalling a change for the primeape.

The emergence of bea's primeape from lapras's back made it look back to not be hit by the same thing again, only to be met by a primeape who ghosted it and fire punched the ice beam fired at tomiyasu's primeape, melting it.

Lapras couldn't look back after that sudden change of movement as tomiyasu's primeape smacked it in it's jaw with a karate chop, dealing super-effective damage.

"With my primeape's +6 boosted attack, that should be worth thirty percent of it's health" said tomiyasu as he stared down the weakened lapras, which had lost a little more than half of it's full health.

"Good job, glasses. A few more of those hits and it's toast" said bea.

"I agree, muscle-bound girl" said tomiyasu, finally returning those burns back at her.

The lapras was now infuriated, coming closer by the second to fainting. It then hit its strongest move against the two primeapes, blizzard.

Heavy hailstorms started to emerge as the lapras laughed in a smug manner. Trees were cracking, plants were getting torn off. This was the scale of the move. A power belonging to a truly strong pokemon.

"Hey what do we do now?" asked a late tomiyasu as the blizzard had already struck their pokemon.

Being lower leveled and only having attack and defence buffs made the two prone to special attacks which are strong.

They both used karate chop with one hand and fire punch with another to somewhat block the impact as they retreated, having lost 65% of their health each.

While it didn't extend enough to attack the two anymore, it still was protecting the lapras. As time was ticking, the two groups needed to defeat, catch and utilise it asap or their efforts would be wasted.

Just then, bea's head had worked for the first time in her life. She came up with a plan, a plan to tell tomiyasu asap.

"Oi nerd, if we can't bypass the blizzard, we can't win. Tell your primeape to carry mine on it's back and to use fire punch with both of its hands to block attacks while mine will block ones coming from above. We can walk ahead then" said bea.

"To think you could outsmart even me, muscle-bound girl. Impressive, indeed impressive" said tomiyasu in mostly a sarcastic tone even though he was gonna do it.

"Oi primeape, carry the other one on your back and punch the attacks coming from the side with fire punch while the one on your head will shield you from aerial attacks and help you move ahead" said tomiyasu.

While hesitant, the two primeapes agreed to do it. While slow, this tactic helped minimize hail damage as the two marched on ahead, seemingly reaching a point near the lapras.

"Jump and charge upon it head on. It can't block since it's already focusing all of it's energy in maintaining the blizzard. Use a karate chop on it's throat" said tomiyasu.

"Do the same but use a fire punch on its head from the back" said bea.

The two, not caring for any hail damage for the moment, charged in on the lapras. Unable to stop the blizzard and block using a move in time, bea's primeape went in for the fire punch, smacking its head to the ground when tomiyasu's primeape arrived and hit a karate chop at its throat, getting the win.

"Oh boy, we actually did it. It's all thanks to you, muscle-bound girl" said tomiyasu as he gazed at the unconscious lapras with a smile.

"It's because of your cooperation, shitty glasses nerd" said bea.

After a tough battle, bea went in and threw the great ball at it, completing the capture.

*Five minutes ago,at the lake-side

Sora and gloria had it easier, with the two of them managing to take around 35% of the abomasnow's hp in a little bit of time at the casualty of 20% damage dealt to raboot and monferno because of hail. The damage dealt was thanks to raboot's speed boosts and 4x super-effective moves along with monferno's sheer power.

Sora was sure that he'd win this easily, not knowing that abomasnow had a certain move.

"Raboot, blitz past it and use flame charge and follow it up with double kick" said sora

"Monferno, use quick mach punches to help out raboot" said gloria

This was a strategy which had worked well for gloria and sora so far. The counter to it would come in the form of water pulse, a move only few abomasnows care to learn.

A body of water was suddenly created around abomasnow's body as it fired beams at all sides just when monferno and raboot were about to strike it, causing them to take a lot of damage.

"No way, this monster is even stronger now. That damage should be illegal" said sora as he saw raboot and monferno shaking, filled with injuries. Both of them had lost 40% of their max hp from this, causing the total damage to be around 60% for both of them.

"Oi sora, if we don't beat it with our next move, we're both going down in one hit'' said gloria, panicking.

"Oi gloria, I was thinking about this stupid strategy for a while. Since your monferno has a high-power move and a higher attack stat while my raboot has crazy speed, how about my raboot carrying monferno on its back and attacking together, with speed" said sora.

"it's stupid but we kind of need it, you've proven to be a decently smart one too so I'll play along" said gloria

"Oi raboot, carry the monferno on your back and hit the abomasnow from above with a combo of flame charge and fire punch" said sora.

Monferno was doubtful but seeing a confident gloria made it play along. Abomasnow was rather confused by this combo but was not worried because of how comical it felt.

It was its biggest mistake though, as raboot emerged from above and smacked it with a flame charge, dealing decent damage. But this wasn't the main threat as monferno quickly jumped out of raboot's back and hit it with a fire punch, knocking it out.

Upon victory, sora smiled as he threw a great-ball at the abomasnow, capturing it. It was at this moment that he saw the victorious duo of bea and tomiyasu and ran towards them to start the healing and to kick some gabite ass afterwards.
