"Squirtle squirt…" Squirtle pants out. Looking at the dehydrated tiny turtle I chuckle.
"Here take some water." I say handing Squirtle one of the many cold bottles of water I had in my bag. You could never be too prepared on a journey like this, and in this case it made more sense.
Currently Squirtle and I were walking through a desert through route six. The place was quite lengthy but it shouldn't take too much longer before we can made it to the other side.
On the way to our current destination. My track record was 9-4 with multiple wins with Beedrill, Squirtle, Clefairy and Tyrogue. This was able to build up their confidence and get them their wins.
The loses weren't too bad as each of them got one in return to winning or after a two win streak.
In all I'm quite satisfied with their results as the training is speaking for themselves. They're attacks are way more enhanced then their opponents and movements are better in general.
Considering practising attacks is better than running, I'd hope they do better.
"Let's keep on going." I tell Squirtle who was currently chugging that water like his life depended on it.
"Squirtle!" The little guy responds pumping up his fists feeling the energy. It seems like giving a water type water helps them.
A truly important piece of information I should note down.
We walked over the desert for over half an hour before we saw the first glimpse of the new city. It was called Neon City.
The city that doesn't sleep more commonly known as Neon City, is a place of many gamblers. While this may not be obvious at day time, at night even a child could see it.
Nobody at night hides their addictions and starts fights regularly as seen in the anime. This place is seen as a horrible area to live in.
(A/N: I'm not sure if Neon City is located in route six but I too lazy to double check by watching anime episode. It's not like this City will do much anyways.)
But this is my next stop and there's nothing I could do about it besides not going there. Which I'll still go there as I'm travelling around the region for a reason.
Walking in through the entrance of the city, I immediately saw the bustling street of people walking around. It was still the afternoon and there wasn't much of a commotion.
There were hundreds if not thousands of signs showing how different a city like this is compared to others. Locstions like casinos, stores and restaurants all had bright lights which kind of hurt my eyes. Like I understand y'all would need it in the night, but in the middle of the day.
Really?
This is just wasting electricity at that point…
Oh wait I forgot Pokemon can generate electricity using only their stamina. So we technically got an infinite energy source if we keep on making food to feed said Pokemon.
The streets were "clean" but had a lot of rubbish in some areas like near alleyways or bushes. Squirtle who was next to me looked at all the large buildings in awe.
"Squirtle squirtle…" Squirtle said pointing up at one of the towers, seeing the huge lights advertising their casino. Seeing this I frown but pat the tiny turtle on the head.
"Let's keep on going, I don't plan on staying here for the rest of the day." I murmur. With this both Squirtle and I made our ways to the closest battle club.
Each one should have a cafe or a food court so it's not all bad. We could still relax and just enjoy ourselves their after a few battles.
…
"There is currently a leaderboard for the battle club. This club and others all around the world are sponsored by the League. So this is where you can compare your Pokemon with the best in your City or town." A woman explains making me nod. She went on to explain how there are prizes depending on your placement and how this could help people get sponsors.
When I first went to a battle club back then, the rules or information like this was never said. Probably because I was hiding my identity for convenience sake.
Also using the battle club to find sponsors is an interesting idea. I might use this to find my own apprentices or potential trainers.
'A trainer like Sawyer who is easy to influence would be good.' I thought to myself. I'm planning to make an "organisation", but just for the sake of it.
It's mostly for publicity and making the big bucks as anyone else would do. And I mean who wouldn't want a trainer like Sawyer, he's perfect.
"So am I able to sign in and get a few battles." I asked pulling out my Pokedex. The woman smiling at me, takes the Pokedex and widens her eyes after looking at my ID.
"Good luck on your matches! Just check the app on your Pokedex to sign up for battles!" I hear her say while doing a little bow. Waving her off I made my way to the main battlefield of the club with Squirtle by my side.
Each club had one decently big battle ground to where anyone could battle, this could either be by a duel request or assigned battle. The other battlefields were all in one stadium which had multiple of them to save space.
But I decided to battle in the main battlegrounds so I wouldn't need to listen to other people's Pokemon battles.
It's not like it's a bad thing, but my Pokemon could misinterpret or not hear my commands. This could be because of a huge shockwave occurring from another battle a few metres away.
"Alright let's see my first opponent." I murmur holding my incubator with one hand and a Pokedex on the other.
"Squirtle squirt!" The tiny turtle nagged as it tugged on my pants. Realising what it wanted, I gave the little Pokemon the incubator.
'My Pokemon are oddly protective of the Pokemon egg.' I thought to myself. Seeing Squirtle's serious look as it carried the brown egg, I smiled already knowing what that Pokemon would turn out to be.
On my screen showed the ID and statistics of my opponent. He seemed to be relatively new to the battle club like me.
His current stats looked pretty decent.

Turning my attention away from my Pokedex, I knew that my battle would be starting in a few minutes due to not many people being here. So I made my way down using an elevator to the stage.
*click* *zzzz*
With the elevator door opening I looked forward to see my opponent already waiting. The kid, Clint, nervously fiddled his Pokeball in his hand seemingly disturbed.
Making my way forward with Squirtle waddling through, I chuckled as turtle hit a wall due to how it couldn't see too much.
"Squirt!" The little Pokemon cried out seeing that the incubator fell to the ground.
Squatting down I just pat Squirtle in the head. The incubator should hold up as that this thing was expensive as hell. No way it would break or let the egg get damaged from something like this.
"Be careful, if this happens again your little sibling would get hurt." I console the crying Squirtle. The little guy getting up, nods vigorously and puffs it's chest up.
Watching the cute scene, I almost forgot that I had a battle to win.
Taking a Pokeball from my bag I made my way up to the stage and prepared myself. Right before anything could happen a voice through the speakers could be heard.
"This will be a one-on-one battle, the winner will be decided when the opponent's Pokemon is unable to battle.
Begin!" The robotic voice announced to which both Clint and I gripped our Pokeball. Sending out my Pokeball, a red beam gets sent to the field.
*Phsszszst*
"Tyrogue!" The scuffle Pokemon growls out doing a few punches. Right after this Clint's Pokemon was shown.
"Sandshrew."
Tyrogue looking at the timid Pokemon got a smirk on its face. It proceeded to do a little taunt and went into a fighting stance.
"Rogue rogue~"
Shadshrew who got an annoyed look got an agitated expression.
"Tyrogue use {Fake Out} into a {Bullet Punch}."
"{Bulldoze} Sandshrew. You need to dodge his attacks!"
Tyrogue dashing forward goes for a hit. But Sandshrew already had its hands dug into the ground and started its attack.
The dirt on the floor started to moves frantically as a mini-earthquake occurred which Tyrogue.
"Rogue…"
Sandshrew seeing that its opponent got a hit, started to get a little cocky and ran forward. Unfortunately for the mouse Pokemon, Tyrogue recovered from the hit and ran forward towards it.
"What are you doing Sandshrew!" Clint shouted absolutely confused on why his Pokemon isn't responding.
To his devastation Tyrogue was able to land a {Fake Out} soon after to which made the Pokemon flinch.
*Clap*
Right after this a silver glow appeared on Tyrogue's hands as it's speed picked up and landed multiple hits on the poor Pokemon.
The mouse Pokemon getting bombarded by hits couldn't last much longer and get knocked out.
'At least Tyrogue is implementing my tips.' I thought to myself with a smile. The Pokemon was fighting freely and wasn't going for single power hits.
But I need a way for my Pokemon to close the distance in a fight safely. Speed in one thing but a pre-move is a given for a situation like that.
"The winner is Tyrogue, making the victor trainer 2." The same robotic voice announces. Looking back on my Pokedex, I could see my stats updating with my win registering.

It would of been funny if shared Pokemon were allowed in these battles. Because I'm not the original owner of Pokemon like Tyranitar, I can't register him as my Pokemon sadly.
Imagine just battling a rookie and he pulls up with a champion level Tyranitar.
'Use {Hyper Beam} Tyranitar!' I joke to myself as I returned Tyrogue and headed back up. After this battle I had two more battles which I quickly won.
Each of the battle were fought by Clefairy and Squirtle separately to which they quickly won due to being above their opponents skill level. Because the club "balances" out the opponents depending on gym badges, winrate and Pokemon.
There's a general level you can assume for each battle you get in which is near. But because of my Pokemon doing more training than running and battling. My Pokemon were easily able to overpower their opponents with a few moves.
"Alright it's time for the last battle of the day." I murmur as I watched my Pokemon play with the incubator.
"Cle clefairy (I be best sister little egg)."
"Squirtle squirtle (No I better, I never lazy)!"
The two Pokemon were fighting each other while talking to the clearly sealed egg. This confused me a bit but you stop questioning things after a while.
Looking down at my Pokedex, I signed up for one last battle here as I wanted to leave before nightfall. The time was currently 5:30pm and the hotel I booked already prepared my room.
"Alright guys it's time for our last battle, who's gonna fight." I comment seeing the three Pokemon. Tyrogue and Clefairy spoke their head seemingly not wanting to battle. This left Squirtle last which the Pokemon got a determined look.
"Squirtle squirtle!"
Seeing my Pokémon's invigorated look I smirked.
"Alright let's go." I comment walking with all three of my Pokemon to the stage. While Tyrogue and Clefairy were taking care of the egg, I retrieved Squirtle to his Pokeball for the surprise factor.
After a little bit of time passing, I see that the elevator on the other side started to open.
And to my surprise a familiar face appears. Looking at the serious purple haired menace, I take a peek at my Pokedex for his stats.

'Didn't expect him to be here. Well I can't expect to know anyone's location for a matter of fact.' I joked to myself. Waiting for the robots voice, I watched Paul walk up to the stadium with a calm look.
He's probably already seen my Pokemon and expects me to send out Scyther or Lairon. Funnily enough that might make him sent out a fire-type.
This will be an interesting match.
(A/N: I can't add too much Pokemon interaction in between routes unless there's a set task or thing that's gonna happen. So y'all will have to wait with some character development for others ;) for now.
Also one review off a rating!)
