8: Pewter city

"are you ready?" Jayden's mom asked as she watched him close the door behind him.

she knew Jayden hadn't been to pewter city in months, due to her son's absurd ability to stay in his room and not go outside.

"of course, let's go" Jayden said with a smile.

even Scorbunny seemed excited as it hopped around and called out to him.

it was only a 10-15 minute drive from the town to pewter city.

before they entered the main city, Jayden spotted officer jenny on a motorcycle riding past them, she had a sharp gaze while she patrolled the area vigilantly.

---

"alright we are here" his mother said while they parked beside a square shaped building with a Pokemon badge at the top of it.

Jayden stepped out of the car with his backpack on, Scorbunny followed behind him.

"just tell them you want to sign up and stuff, you're an adult now you should do things without me" she didn't even wait for him to reply before she reversed out of the parking lot and drove away.

Jayden could only smile wryly as he watched her speed off, if officer jenny was nearby then his mom would friendly get a ticket for reckless driving.

Jayden walked into the building with Scorbunny on his shoulders, it was far from what he expected.

at the front were many small shops, and the place looked very neat and organized.

they sold Pokemon food, potions, pokeballs and many other things here.

they even had small restaurants in this building.

Jayden noticed many people with their pokemon walking around or sitting at tables and enjoying food.

upon reaching the reception area, he was greeted by a blonde haired lady.

"hello, welcome to the Pokemon training and battling center, how may I help you?" she said with a smile while locking eyes with Jayden.

"I came here to sign up for the training and battling lessons here" Jayden replied.

"sign these papers please, and that will be 100 PokeCoins per month" she said before pulling out a sheet of paper from under her desk.

'100 PokeCoins a month?' Jayden was confused, perhaps his mom didn't know payment was needed or else she would've given him some money.

he was about to call her before he remembered that he gained 1,000 PokeCoins from the system 2 days ago which he hadn't even touched yet.

with a sole thought, a 100$ PokeCoin appeared in Jayden's pocket.

he paid the fee and signed off with his name and legal information.

"here is your card, it will expire next month, please buy another membership card next month if needed, have a great time here" the blonde haired lady said with a bright smile.

Jayden kept the card which had his name and picture on it before asking....

"uh, where is the Pokemon battling area exactly?" he couldn't seem to find any suitable place here which could be used for pokemon fights, especially since there were many people in this area, and some were even eating.

"ah, my apologies, just take the door to my left and you should immediately see the battle rings, just hop in an open ring and set your pokemon level, challengers will immediately come to ask for a battle"

the lady explained enthusiastically.

"thank you" Jayden said.

'does she get paid enough for her to be this enthusiastic?' he found it funny.

---

opening the door, Jayden was immediately greeted by many Pokemon battle fields, there was even an upstairs area.

this place was equipped with everything, even technological devices to check the level of one's pokemon as well as their stats.

walking around the area, Jayden saw many battles, most of the challengers and those requesting battles were around his age of 18.

most likely also about to get their pokemon training license.

"hey"

Jayden heard a feminine voice calling out, he was greeted by a short girl with an Eevee.

"would you like to have a Pokemon battle?, it's my first time here" she said with an awkward smile.

"what a coincidence, it's my first time here too" Jayden smiled while looking at her.

she was short, atleast 162 cm tall, she had average looks and wasn't too pretty but her energy and personality was definitely nice.

"My name is Stephanie, what about you?" she asked him while they walked towards an empty field.

"my name is Jayden, you can call me Jay" Jayden replied.

"are you also taking your pokemon license test soon?" he decided to ask while they were already talking.

"yes I'm actually taking mine in a few days, although it's my first time here I feel like I'm strong enough, my little Eevee only needs a little push before she reaches level level 10" she sighed, she knew that coming here was probably the only way to get that extra level for Evee.

Stephanie noticed Scorbunny on Jayden's shoulder, a Pokemon she had never seen before.

but she decided to hold back her curiosity since they were already on the battling field.

"good luck to you" Jayden said to her before walking to the other side of the field.

"you too" Stephanie replied.

She then took her side while Eevee was standing right in front of her.

Scorbunny released a sharp energetic sound as it hopped in front of Jayden, it was looking forward to this fight.
