10: Unexpected Shiny

5 days went smoothly.

leaving only two more days before his scheduled Pokemon trainer licensed meeting.

Jayden continued to go to pewter city each morning with his mom, before separating while he went to the training facility.

the facility was only for upcoming pokemon trainers, so there weren't any extremely strong characters there.

Jayden was practically undefeated, and was known for his power there, although only being there for less than a week.

Scorbunny was currently peaked at level 15, it only needed that one last push before it could evolve at level 16.

Its power was bizarre for its level, Jayden didn't know if it was due to the mysterious stone, or the boost applied by the system onto his Pokemon.

whatever it was, he was more than glad to accept is assistance.

the sound of water splashing could be heard all around.

flying type Pokemon flew above this body of water, chirping and whistling by.

Jayden played with Scorbunny near a small lake not far from the town.

he decided to take a break today since battling those trainers was getting boring.

most of their pokemon barely passed level 12, Scorbunny was practically bullying them everyday.

Jayden watched as Scorbunny hid underneath a small tree, it seemed afraid of going into the water.

Jayden could only laugh seeing this.

"Come on, it. won't hurt you" he shouted.

Scorbunny released a sharp sound while turning away from Jayden, it seemed like it didn't want to bother with him anymore.

Jayden's ears perked up as he heard water splashing sounds.

according to the locals, there were only families of Magikarp that could be found here.

Jayden's eyes widened as he noticed a golden flow coming out of the water.

"it's a shiny Magikarp?" Jayden was shocked, shiny's were extremely hard to find, not only that they were extremely expensive in this world.

"it left the water? is it trying to commit suicide?"

Jayden and Scorbunny both watched as the golden Magikarp flapped its tail all the way to the sandy area, after seeing where it was going they finally understood.

Jayden had set up a small stall previously before they came here, Scorbunny had eaten half the Pokemon food and some sandwiches, but there was still some left.

Jayden didn't want to miss this chance, he immediately stood up and slowly approached the Magikarp.

the golden Magikarp got scared after it noticed him, it tried to bounce its way back into the water, but it stopped when it realized Jayden wasn't doing anything, Jayden had even brought out some food for it.

the golden Magikarp became excited and rushed towards the food before devouring almost all of it in one bite.

after it finished eating, it just laid there on the ground.

if it's eyes weren't glancing intensely at Jayden he wouldve thought that it was already dead.

"Do you want more?" Jayden was confused, but after seeing it become excited again after he pulled out a berry he understood.

he pulled out a regular PokeBall before trying to communicate with the Magikarp.

he pointed at the food in his hand before wiggling his finger, he then pointed at the Magikarp and then at the PokeBall he placed in front of it.

to be honest, the golden Magikarp didn't understand sh*t he said, but it decided to play around with the PokeBall and started biting it thinking it was also food.

It accidentally tapped on the button of the PokeBall, Magikarp turned into a flash of light and entered the PokeBall.

three rolls...

the shiny Magikarp was caught, a system interface immediately appeared in front of Jayden.

Jayden widened his eyes in shock once again, his luck was too terrible right?

it was already at level 20???

meaning it only needed a small push to become a shiny Gyarados.

this was too exciting for him.

Gyarados was one of his favorite gen 1 water types, and a shiny one was too amazing.

according to his memories, shiny Pokemon reached the price of hundreds of thousands of pokeCoins, and this was only for the shiny versions of regular Pokemon.

a shiny Gyarados was basically priceless.

Jayden brought out the shiny Magikarp.

it was shocked and confused for a second, but then it realized it had become closer to this human in front of it.

Jayden upheld his end of the deal and pulled out all the food he had stored in his inventory.

Scorbunny also came after seeing the food, it even shared some berries with Magikarp after finding out that it was their new family member.

"can it breathe like this?" Jayden was scared that Magikarp would die.

[yes host! Magikarp's are able to survive on land just like any other creature as long as they drink lots of water] the system unexpectedly replied.

"hmm, that's good to know then" Jayden thought.

he pulled out a water bottle and had Magikarp drink it, he decided to keep lots of water in his inventory everyday.

for a few hours, Jayden and Scorbunny bonded with the golden Magikarp.

they really only stuffed it with food as Magikarp seemed to never stop eating no matter how much it's small body devoured.
