S5E1: Secrets - Part One

Our journey last left our hero and his girlfriend ate dinner on their way to her home and we now pick up as they leave the restaurant. As they exited the building Foxx put and arm around her shoulders while Dawn slipped her hand onto Foxx's lower back. As for Joy the whole time she was following close to them near their feet.

"That was quiet the dinner my dear Foxx, how do you plan to follow that up?" asked Dawn as she leaned her head on his shoulder allowing him to guide them.

"Oh I was thinking maybe a nice stroll through the woods followed up by a little camping trip with maybe a detour or two." replied Foxx with a playful hint of sarcasm.

"And what might we be doing on this camping trip?" teased Dawn as they started towards the edge of town.

"Oh wouldn't you like to know?" teased Foxx with a smile.

"Vul, Vulpix Vul?" asked Joy with her head tilted to one side confused.

"Wow, no Joy not that, definitely not that." replied Foxx stopping to look down at her.

"Vul?" asked Joy still confused.

"Because we're just children, only ten. I know that's not young to you but for humans it's young." replied Foxx looking down once more at her. "Besides we're not even married."

"Vul, vul." replied Joy with a smile.

"We're done with this conversation and maybe once we set up camp we can discuss this more in-depth if need be." sighed Foxx before taking the lead once more guiding Dawn farther down the trail.

"Vul?" asked Joy as she tried to keep up with them.

"That's up to her but I'm not sure it's something she wants to discuss especially not with you but as I agreed when we set up camp I'll let you and dawn have your private conversation but you best behave yourself." replied Foxx as they continued along the way.

"Do I even want to know what you two are talking about?" asked Dawn shaking her head.

"No, you don't but I have a feeling she is more then likely to bring it up in your conversation with her as soon as we set up camp." sighed Foxx as they entered into a small clearing within the woods at the base of Mt. Coronet near a small cave entrance.

Foxx let Joy and Dawn slip a little way off into the woods with the telepathic link to have a private chat of which Joy has been wanting to have with dawn ever since Foxx explained human relationships a little more back on the orange islands. While they had their conversation Foxx began to set up camp at which he did realize that there was only one tent which would indeed cause some problems especially if Joy puts any thoughts in Dawn's head.

Now in part he liked the idea of sharing a tent with Dawn but after the conversation though brief with Joy on the way here he's beginning to wonder if maybe they shouldn't have come alone. Maybe Ash should've escorted them or maybe he should've waited for his parents to meet up with them. This all made setting up camp a little tough on him as he tried and tried to think positive about the whole thing only to keep circling back to the same thought, What am I doing?

Once he had the tent set up, Foxx put Dawn's things in the tent along with her seeping bag. As for him well he set his bag and sleeping bag on the opposite side of the pile of wood that he was going to use for a fire to keep them warm as well as cook breakfast in the morning.

Now Foxx sat on a log chair holding Eevee's pokeball debating on starting the fire now or waiting as it hadn't began to cool off that much yet. In fact he wasn't even sure it would cool off to much seeing as this was his first time in this region. If he was reading the map correct it was going to be one day's travel through the mountain then another day through the Coal Valley with two cities between here and their destination which may mean a third day of just them.

Don't get him wrong Foxx loves Dawn but the truth is he's not really sure he's ready to spend this much time with her alone. Yah during Christmas they spend some time together just the two of them but there was others near by to join them from time to time. On this trip the only others near by are most likely people and pokemon they don't know. They could do anything and no one would ever know about it or could or would even bother to stop them and that's what scared him the most.

Finally with a sigh he tossed the pokeball into the air releasing Eevee who looked around for Joy before tipping her head to one side, yet before she could ask Foxx patted his lap for her to hop up there. Now Eevee didn't hesitate to do so even though she was still confused as to where Joy was and why Foxx wasn't talking telepathically with her.

"Joy is in the woods talking with Dawn about something thus Dawn has my telepathic link." explained Foxx as if able to read Eevee's confusion. "I figured you'd be able to help me start the fire and then could relax with me for a bit."

"Eev, eev, Eevee." replied Eevee before firing off an ember at the base of the pile of wood.

"You realize I have no clue what you just said but then again you can always tell me again later." replied Foxx as Eevee curled up in his lap looking up at him and smiling before falling fast asleep.

So much for someone to talk to even if he couldn't understand what they were saying in response. Now he could just wait and talk with Joy but there was no point in laying more stress on her then she already has. Thus Foxx just stared into the fire wondering if he was really doing the right thing or if he should just go back to his research?
