Then, the last battle between Catherine and Ash had begun. Catherine then switched her paralyzed Sceptile for her second Pokémon, Weavile, and it stepped into battle with confidence.
"Wow, a Weavile," Rico commented in interested positivity. He then pulled his Pokédex and pointed it towards Weavile; his Pokédex then responded, "Weavile, the Sharp Claw Pokémon, and the final evolved form of Sneasel. A Dark and Ice-type. They live in cold regions, forming groups of four or five that hunt prey with impressive coordination."
"Wow, so cool," Rico commented in a low, amazed voice. Lucario, next to its Trainer, then responded with a quick, low amazement. Rico then put his Pokédex back to his shoulder bag and resumed watching the battle.
"Weavile, use Metal Claw!" Catherine commanded Weavile in style. Weavile then jumped high and used Metal Claw, attacking Pikachu and Greninja with steel claws, and this strikes both of them with power, but not too powerful.
"Quickly, Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!" Ash commanded his Pokémon. Managing to snap out from pain, Pikachu used Thunderbolt loosing a strong electrical blast, striking Weavile with great power. This weakens Weavile a lot, but Greninja only experienced a low and mild pain from the Metal Claw.
"He is strong," Catherine thought in acknowledgement. Then in a serious state, "Quickly, Weavile, use Ice Beam and freeze them!" Standing up despite in pain, Weavile used Ice Beam, striking Ash's Pokémon with an icy beam of energy. But both Pokémon dodged it quickly, and Ash commanded them, "Pikachu, use Electro Ball! And Greninja, use Water Shuriken!"
"Woah, those are so powerful," one student commented in amazement.
"Yeah, I know," Rico added as well. Pikachu and Greninja then used Electro Ball and Water Shuriken, striking Weavile with a combined force of power. This causes Weavile to faint in exhaustion and defeat, shocking Catherine severely.
"Ooh, she lost," Rico thought in commentary.
"Weavile is unable to battle," the school referee announced, "Pikachu and Greninja wins. And the battle goes to Ash." Ash then rejoiced in victory, and Pikachu and Greninja shared a high-five. Without any hesitation nor contempt, Catherine called her defeated Pokémon and said to Ash, "That's a fun battle we had, brother, I really liked it. Next time, I'll train more and beat you."
"That was a good attitude I heard, sis," Ash replied back as he jumped from the stage and onto the ground in action.
"Thanks," Catherine happily responded back. And so, the morning battles had ended with positive effects.
Working on her custom made gadget, Catherine was humming while her Sceptile was playing around beside her. That gadget, however, was a Pokémon Translator, a device that can translate any Pokémon language into a recognizable language by humans. She made it along with a few tech students from a local technology institute back at the Tahod region. She was curious about what if there's a way to translate Pokémon language into words for humans. It took her months to create, fix, and improve that device, but in the end, it was worth it, thanks to her knowledge about tech. It was recess time, as the other kids and their Pokémon are playing with one another. And as Catherine work up on her device, Rico and his team came to her and positively greeted with a good afternoon.
"Oh, good afternoon, Rico," Catherine greeted him back upon seeing him. Sitting down next to her, Rico glanced at her device for a few seconds, and then he asked her what is that.
"This is a Pokémon Translator," answered Catherine back brightly, "a translator that can convert Pokémon language into our words." Amazed by this, Rico replied back quickly, "Wow, that looks so awesome and unusual. Who made that?"
"Me!" Catherine happily responded. This stuns the young boy and his team a lot, and then they snapped out and replied back, "Woah, you made that? You're a genius!" Scratching his head in a bit of embarrassment, Catherine replied back, "Yeah, I am. But I would only manage to make this, but others like phones or control panels, I can't make any of them."
"Huh? You can't?" replied Rico back in concern normally. Nodding to say yes, Catherine responded, "Yes, I'm too nervous and anxious to make any of them." Understanding her problems, Rico replied back with some advice, "It's alright, it's just trial and error. No matter how many times you had tried to make your tech stuff, you can always try to succeed." At this point, Catherine became similar to her brother, Ash, and both of them liked to make tech stuff, while Isaiah was in a different direction and field: journalism and news reporting.
After some settling of his attitude, Rico tried on Catherine's Pokémon Translator on Lucario, telling it to say something. Lucario then responded with saying, causing the Translator to process the sounds it made. Then, appearing on the screen in light green letters, the translation reads: "Hello." This causes Rico and Catherine to be amazed by its quality of translation.
"Wow, I think that was accurate," Rico commented positively.
"Yeah, I put accurate sensors in it so it makes sure that your Pokémon's responses are accurate and matches," Catherine added a note about her device's ability. Meanwhile, a grunt-criminal, shrouded in orange-red clothes and shades and in lava covering half of her body, was spying at them. But Rico, still in training as a ninja, became suspicious at a moving bush and threw a kunai knife towards it, but with a little accuracy, scaring the grunt a lot as the knife stick a few inches above her. This alerts Catherine, and her Pokémon and Rico's team, and they asked, "What was that for?"
"I think there's someone in that bush," Rico replied back seriously. He then stand straight and approached the said bush slowly and quietly, and, upon opening the bush in seeing who, he got terrified at the grunt's weird appearance, screaming in horror. Catherine and the rest then stand up upon hearing it and ran to where Rico is, but screamed immediately upon seeing the grunt. The grunt then freaked out and fled the scene in panic. After that experience, Rico and Catherine wondered who she was and what organization she was working for. But, that grunt is a neo version of a criminal organization that Ash had encountered before.
