Chapter 10: A Letter

The Head Master backed up against the wall.

"Well you see. We were renovating the East Wing of the orphanage so we moved the children to the West Wing of the orphanage. This room is not her real room she had before."

"Is that so. Well before I came here, I didn't see any equipment or supplies of construction. Better yet I don't see any improvement of this orphanage what so ever. You wouldn't be lying to me now, Mr. Head Master."

Before the Head Master can come up with a possible lie. Yue Guang ran her hand over the side wall of door. On the wall showed height lines and age.

"Father look. I was this tall when I was 3. I am going to miss this place; so many memories. "

I looked at Father and he saw the lines on the side of the wall with my name and age. He runs hand over it. You can see the hurt in his eyes.

He turned around and faced the Head Master.

"I would like a explanation for this. You said you have been taking care of my daughter. This is the state you left her in. I am very disappointed in you Head Master."

The Head Master got on the ground and kowtow towards my father. He was so fast with for an middle age man.

"Mr. Yun, please forgive me. I didn't know about your daughter until today. Please have filial pity on me."

"So you are telling me that the old Head Master did not leave behind anything for you. He was an organized elder. I know he probably left letters to you."

The Head Master stop kowtowing and started to shiver.

Father's eyes became colder.

"I guess he did leave something behind for you. Voice recording? Or was it a letter."

Head Master stopped moving.

"Ah, it was letter. I wonder, did you ever read that letter?"

Head Master confessed.

"No sir. Once I got the letters I burnt them in the fire place. Please forgive me."

"The mistake you made cannot be forgiven. Write a letter of resignation by tomorrow morning."

I tugged on my father's suit. He looked down at me.

"Dad if he is going to resign, can I make a recommendation."

He smiled at me.

"Sure little one. Anything for you."

He ruffled my hair. I smiled back at him.

"I recommend the Old Head Master's wife. Even after the Old Head Master died she still came here to take care of us. I believe the orphanage will be in good hands in hers."

He continued smiling.

"The Old Head Master and I got along just fine. His wife is a sweet woman. She will do just fine running the orphanage. "

He turned away from me and look at the Head Master that was still kowtowing to him. His was not smiling anymore. Back to the cold face.

"Have the Old Head Master's wife run the orphanage when you are gone. The account that I gave to the orphanage should be transferred to her as well. If I see a single yuan missing from the account after today, I will come after you. You have been warned now get to work!"

The Head Master scramble off the floor and ran towards the office. Dad turned turned towards me and said,

"Let's go home."

He took my hand and led me to the car. I got in with my Dad. As we pulled away; the little children was running beside the car. Calling my name and crying. This scene broke my hair.

I rolled down the window.

"Don't forget about us!"

"Visit us soon!"

"We will miss you!"

"Don't leave. Who will keep the bad monsters away!"

I cried along with them and smiled, I yelled

"I will visit soon, I promise."

After awhile the children couldn't keep up anymore. Good thing to because we were getting close to the main road. I rolled back the window and Dad hand me his handkerchief.

"Thank you."

I wiped my eyes.

"Don't worry. You can visit them however often you want. After all they are family to you too."

Dad and I smiled. I can't believe Dad is this nice. If my sister was here she would try to control my movements now.

We drove for while and came towards a gate with security. The doors opened and we drove in. All I saw was fields and fields. 15 minutes after came fancy shrubs and then the main house well mansion came into view.

We pulled up to the front door. A servant opened the door. Two rows of people stand before us. One was the butlers and the other side was maids. They in unison and said,

"Welcome home Master Yun and young miss."

I hid behind Dad. Dad chuckled.

"Good to be home. You all can continue your work."

They bowed and said in unison,

"Yes Master Yun."

Everyone went to do their own thing. Looked at the mansion.

"This time. Thing are going to be different."

"Let's head inside."

I nodded my head and followed him in.

Back at the orphanage a black BMW was parked away out of sight from it. A young man in a black suit made a phone call.

"Number 1. This is Number 7. Tell the young master that young mistress left the orphanage..... Sorry sir I didn't follow the car.... Yes. I will wait here for further instructions."

Call end.

"I am so dead. Why in the world I fell asleep."

He hit his head on the car horn.
