Chapter 62
The Council Chamber erupted into noise again.
There was a knock on the door and the babble ceased and a young man opened the door.
"There are people here who wish to speak to the Council."
"We are busy. Can they return later?"
"They say they are from Rakkikt."
There was dead silence for a moment before the Chair heaved a deep sigh.
"Bring them in," she said.
A man and a woman in clothes not much different than what Patrick's walked into the room.
"Be welcome," the Chair said. "I don't mean to be rude, but do you have proof of who you are?"
"Certainly, honoured sir," The taller of the two said. He handed the Chair a sealed letter. The Chair looked at the seal and passed the letter to the Brother who also examined it closely.
"It is the seal of Rakkikt, if my memory serves me," the Brother said finally. "May I?" the Chair nodded and the Brother broke the seal to read the contents.
