Chapter 16: Skill Book
Seeing the inventory and the figure of the sword inside, he was tempted to grab and try it, but there were many people currently walking around, he didn't want to feel any more embarrassment, so he shook his head removing those thoughts from his mind.
Instead, he moved on again to swipe the screen and check his status, now concentrating on where the iron sword was as an item, he clicked on it to see its description.
Instantly, the screen changed to now display the item's information.
[Iron Sword: A basic rank item given upon entering the territory of the Flaming Bull, it is a 1.4-meter tall sword with a single edge, it is a bit more special to other swords, as this was given upon entering the territory of a beast, its origin is unknown].
Reading this information, Nova again nodded with compression, finding the description adequate.
'Finally, no surprises,' he mentally sighed.
His whole day had been plagued by surprises and surprises, not being able to relax a lot.
Even one transaction was a surprise, but finally, he had found something normal and logical, which allowed him to calm down.
Who would like it if everything didn't go according to his plans? He thought he had the advantage of knowing everything about the game, but that advantage was also his biggest weakness right now.
Looking at the transparent purple screen in front of him, Nova came up with an idea. Rather, he always had such a thing in mind, only it was just now that he relaxed, that he remembered it.
"System, can I talk to you mentally?" asked Nova with curious eyes.
At this, the system laughed softly, puzzling Nova.
'Since when can it laugh?" he thought with confusion.
But then he shook his head, weighing that it was a stupid thought. After all, he had just mocked the system and it fell as if it were a person or even a small child.
The system's soft laughter gradually subsided, before it responded.
[Yes, you can communicate with me with a thought and to communicate with me, otherwise, I can't know what you are saying to me, by the way, is this when you come to ask me that?], the System explained, still amused by the stupid question.
After all, he had been talking in front of thousands of people passing by, most of whom thought Nova was a schizophrenic madman.
But Nova couldn't care less about this detail he started talking to the system like this because he liked it, it was like being in a video game, in his happy place.
Nova, trying to communicate with the system, closed his eyes, trying to have the intention to talk to the system, his now-only friend.
"Hey, can you hear me?" asked Nova in his mind, expectantly.
Soon after, came the answer he had been waiting for.
[Yes, with this we can communicate easily."] With this affirmation from the system, Nova merely clenched his fist in triumph.
'Well, almost all the preparations for going to the Eclipse organization are ready,' Nova concluded, turning to look at the stack of books beside his.
The trio of books, the ones he had bought, were there.
Finishing his review of stats and items, Nova grabbed the first book in the row, a thick book with a deep red cover, its title was "Fire Level 1, Fireball".
Looking at the book held by his right hand, Nova with his free hand gently grasped his new Earrings, which were dangling in his lobe.
Not much had changed since they had awakened, they just seemed brighter and more unique, giving a fantastic appearance.
'We'll see this passive...', dropping his earrings, Nova opened the book he was holding, glancing at it.
Unbeknownst to him, the earrings glowed slightly as he began to read, accelerating his information processing speed.
In only ten seconds, Nova turned from page to page, the speed with which he was reading made the people who were looking at him wonder if such a vagabond did not know how to read or if he had a bigger mental problem than they had previously thought.
But Nova didn't notice this, and if he did, he wouldn't have cared, because now he was fascinating.
'What speed!!!' he shouted inwardly excitedly.
He was learning a spell in just minutes, whereas some would take months to read and understand it, plus another few months to use it.
But Nova was reading and comprehending the information in seconds!
Such a feat was almost impossible to see, which is why the citizens, some seeing such a scenario, couldn't help but mutter the waste of money on those books if he couldn't even read or didn't put effort into reading.
"What a pathetic man..."
"A total waste of money."
"Possibly, he had that fortune to pick up those earrings and the skill books, what luck, tsk, tsk."
Whispers and conversations spread, many of pity, one of envy.
The people near the benches couldn't help but focus their attention on Nova.
The reason they didn't ignore Nova was because of his unique features, earrings that look extremely luxurious and no one had ever seen him before, making him new to the city.
But the victim of these murmurs now only had a happy smile, looking at the screen that appeared in front of him.
[Fire Skill Book Level 1, read completely and learned properly, the skill "Fireball Level 1" was added to your status].
