Chapter 42: Alex vs Joseph (III)

Lifting his face, he could see the body of the person who had attacked him.

 It was Joseph, but he looked very different from before.

 He had holes in almost all of his body, but they seemed to be closing up, not from some kind of regeneration or anything, but from the tension and pressure of his muscles, which were much larger than before.

 "Let's get this over with," Joseph declared, his eyes locked dangerously on Alex.

 Joseph soon closed his other free hand, forming a mighty fist with bulging veins, pumping with pure power and strength.

 Alex, regaining some of his senses, immediately saw Joseph's fist closing. He was no fool, he knew the meaning behind his actions, clearer than water now that they were in a duel to the death.

 But he didn't panic, he grabbed the fist that was still in his stomach with both hands, collecting mana that soon surrounded his whole body.

 The brown-colored mana surrounded Alex's body like some kind of aura, greatly increasing Alex's physical strength.

 "Yes, let's finish this," Alex commented with a smile that even Joseph found a little unsettling.

 Alex's smile was one of confidence, but it wasn't the confidence of winning now, but the confidence of being able to bring his enemy to the brink of death, which was more terrifying in comparison.

Joseph frowned, but didn't say a word as his fist shot out at Alex, aimed squarely at his face.

  Surprisingly, Alex didn't change his expression but looked at the attack with a smile.

 20 centimeters.

 2 centimeters

 1 centimeter.

 The fist soon came within an inch of Alex's calm face.

 The fist connected with Alex's face, but at Joseph's surprised look, the fist passed through Alex's head like nothing, only to make Alex's figure disappear like an illusion.

 Everyone was shocked to the core but for different reasons.

Joseph and Nova were surprised by the sudden disappearance of Alex's body, which had become an illusion.

 Was he an illusionist?

 The same question circulated in the minds of Nova and Joseph.

 The higher-ups, even the masked ones, were more surprised than Nova and Joseph.

 Their biggest surprise was that they had seen Alex's movements, and how he dodged such a stunning attack.

A crackle of static rang out across the platform, attracting Joseph's attention as he turned to see the figure of a man standing less than a dozen meters from him.

 Brown hair swayed and floated from the bright blue aura surrounding him, making him all the more intimidating despite his average height.

 His expression was one of utter seriousness as he gazed at Joseph with sapphire blue eyes so fierce they seemed to shoot bolts of electricity.

 The two figures stared at each other, one completely massive and muscular, intimidating and full of vitality.

 The other, was smaller, but equally or even more dangerous, with its blue aura and fantastic shape, as if it were a person from another world.

 It was Joseph and Alex, looking at each other with unprecedented seriousness.

 *Dull sound*.

With a burst of speed and power, Alex became a blur, more like an electric blue line heading toward Joseph.

 Joseph didn't know what to say, he couldn't react to this extreme speed, he didn't even notice when a powerful kick hit his face.

 *Boom!

 Unlike before, the kick sent Joseph flying, who crashed into the wall, embedding himself in it, causing a minimal tremor from the large figure that was slammed into the structure with force and brutality.

 Not giving him a moment's peace, Alex moved quickly toward Joseph.

 More accustomed to Alex's brutal display of power, Joseph braced himself.

'Body Strengthening X2,' Joseph mentally declared, and instantly a large amount of mana entered his body, strengthening him even more.

 He had already used the same ability to defend himself against the sharp barrier, which had damaged him badly, but thanks to his muscles, he was able to close his wounds, and now, with the X2 increase, he had become incredibly powerful.

 His figure grew to 3 meters and his body became more terrifying, but Alex did not hesitate for a single second to move forward without even blinking an eye.

 With the increase in his physical abilities, Joseph gained more speed; they could now minimally visualize Alex's movements.

 His legs came out from where they were embedded and in general his whole body, but you have to jump towards the surface of the ground, he did something a little strange.

His tall figure stood with his knees bent and his feet against the wall, his two hands gripping the wall.

 Smiling slightly, Joseph's legs stretched out to hurl his body at Alex with great speed.

 The great force on his legs caused the wall to have hundreds of cracks, leaving the wall in disrepair.

 But not caring less, Joseph flew off at great speed, heading straight towards Alex as the two collided with their great speed...
