It's cold. It's so cold. What is that noise? A voice? Someone is talking to me?
Splash
"Ahh.... What the.... Fuck." I groaned as I opened my eyes and raised my hand to shield them from the intense light that peeked into the room. My body was slowly developing goosebumps as I felt cold wetness across my body.
"Hello? Like~ are you good? I got your text just this afternoon saying you were in. Ive been trying to wake you up the last two hours. Where the hell did you go!"
It was Leon right in my face and yelling at me.
"I been searching all over the town for you and even interrogating the damn bar. Got me looking like some kinda mad man!"
I raised my hand in front of his face and he understood that it meant for him to stop talking.
"What even happened? Ahh... My head hurts." I said in a painful growl as I sat up in the bed. I let my eyes adjust as I looked around the room. I was so cold. He poured ice water on me.
This is the hotel room we booked. How did I even get here.
"Leon... "
"Um no! No no, girl you broke our code. Major red flags and bad vibes off you all night and all of a sudden you up and just..... Leave me there. I didn't get no men last night because I spent all night looking for you! Where did you run off to!" he said with a growl in his voice.
I just stared at his face I didn't even know what to say or how to respond to this. Leon was angry with me. In our years of friendship I've never seen him angry, especially not with me.
" Oh and in case your wondering its currently four in the afternoon." he said as he let out a sigh and laid back on the bed. He laid there staring at the cieling with a moment of silence as his chest expanded and released a loud exhale.
"Damn girl... What the hell happened with you last night?" he said turning his face to look at me.
I stared at his face. He had a headband on to hold his golden brown hair back and his face was clean and free of makeup, his rusty skin was shiny and smooth. He must've been doing his skin routine.
I didn't even know what to say to that. I couldnt remember much at all from last night.
"I... I don't know. I must've blacked out." I said as I rubbed my neck with my right hand. I felt sore. My neck was sore, my legs felt sore, my insides were cramping.
Leon stared at me with her dark blue eyes before he shook his head. He parted his lips for a moment and let out a frustrated growl.
"You're crazy woman...*sigh* In any case." he began as he stood up and adjusted his robe.
"You're here. And you're safe for the most part. Get up, get ready, I'll get some lunch ready for you, and make sure you don't leave anything here. The private jet leaves in two hours."he said as he picked up a cup from the nightstand beside the bed. The cup he had likely used to splash ice water on me.
He didn't have anything else to say to me as he walked out and I did nothing but watch him go.
I took a moment to stop rubbing my neck and breath, trying to find any recollection of the activities of the night before. I couldn't, I couldn't remember much at all.
I shook my head frustrated with my own inability to remember and grabbed ahold of the blankets.
Oh?
My right hand. My index, middle and pinky were all missing their black acrylics. My fingers felt numb to begin with but now there's another missing piece.
I did a quick check of the bed, moving the blankets and moving the pillows and all I could find was one acrylic nail on the floor and a hole on the edge of the bed.
There it is.
I remember this. Staring at it I could remember this. Squeezing the sheets so tightly that my nail snapped off, I must've grabbed it too hard that they punctured the sheets.
I let out a sigh as I stood up off the bed. I figured I should have enough time for a quick shower so I headed from my bedroom to the bathroom. The floors were cold on my feet but it helped me wake up as I moved across them and into the bathroom where I closed the bathroom door.
Leon had already packed up his beauty equipment in a red leather makeup box. I suppose I was a little envious of his motivation to be able to do the same routine each day. I did not have the willpower or motive for something like that.
The shower was beautiful enough with intricate tiles in white and black marble, and a square rainfall shower head. I took my time admiring the beauty of all of this before running the water through it and allowing it to heat up.
In the meantime I stationed myself in front of the mirror, I did a quick brush of my teeth with my bamboo and charcoal toothbrush with my favorite mint toothpaste. And afterwards I would tie up my hair, I had always preferred washing my hair every three days instead of every single day like most people. It allowed my hair to contain alot of its natural oils, that was my preference.
As I pulled back my long and orange curls back into a ponytail I froze. My eyes stared at my own reflection at my neck. I slowly made a horrible bun of my hair as I focused my attention at my neck and turned my body slightly to both sides. There were bruises there, two of them above both sides of my collar bone. And two larger bruises towards the back of my neck.
"What.... The fuck." I whispered to myself as I stared at them. I was certain that sex was an event of last night but I'd never really been one for choking.
What happened? I don't even recall getting to my room at all, let alone choking.
I was puzzled already and every few minutes I kept finding something more. I let out a shuttered breath of confusion as I undid my robe. My robe that I don't even remember putting on. Was it Leon? Part of me doubted it. But what was underneath may have been even worse then what was on my neck.
I stared at my reflection in a mirror that slowly clouded from the heat of the shower. I stared at myself, my flesh, the precious shell that guarded my soul and mind. What monster had I allowed to defile it with such things.
